also before the exercise ball scene when dan told phil to do yoga, i found it cute when phil said "i already did enough yoga on you"

This might be because I literally watched the video in the middle of the night (woke up, checked my phone, couldn't sleep, watched the vid), but was anyone else feeling slightly... uneasy after seeing it?
I guess I am worried that the show is not what I expect, and it's really hard to tell from all these random glimpses. What I saw didn't look all that different from Tabinof? Weird kid, Phone Hotline and the fanfic bit was also mutual roasting and making fun of tropes. It seems there will be a musical element that some people will find cringy. There's "ironic" meme parts.
I think I'm just scared that I won't like it, and I'm always thinking worst case scenario.

I have a slight apprehension about the props bit, in that it seems like a choose your own adventure that could get really cringy. However everyone reacts to things differently. Most people loved the fanfic section of TATINOF. I cringed through and managed to handle it and I hate second hand embarrassment. I'd say not to worry about it until the first show spoilers are up.LtrllySusan wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 7:10 am This might be because I literally watched the video in the middle of the night (woke up, checked my phone, couldn't sleep, watched the vid), but was anyone else feeling slightly... uneasy after seeing it?

For those who doubted the two flat theory: told you so. Haha wow they really don’t care now about people seeing two of everything!
I fell asleep at 8pm last night after joining a cheer squad along the marathon route and being knackered so I have watched the video half asleep this morning and I am even more confused about what II is going to be like now. The sections seem so random! The archery bit like wtf what does that correlate to?! And the handcuffs and animal box, is that gonna be another “the crowd cheers loudest” so we give them what they want?
The section Dan was writing seems the most interesting to me, the questions he listed are things I would be into hearing about for sure.
Also, I’m glad they seem to have a musical number in there! I’ll take Dan playing the piano whilst Phil sings anyday.
Whilst everyone is interested in the bed situation I’m just gonna be a studio nerd and say that it was exciting (to me) that they used John Henry studios for their production, I’ve waited outside there many times when I was younger as my favourite popstar used to rehearse there a lot. Also lucky they didn’t show any of it beforehand as I’m sure loads of people would have known where it was because 1D used it all the time
Ps. they should have totally gone with the black glittery floor, smh Dan.
OH AND:
get recommending your thread name suggestions because we will be making the poll soonish

Oh yeah, you're not the only one. Like I don't want to judge the show before I've read spoilers or seen ot myself but some parts of the video definitely made me go "uhh....okayLtrllySusan wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 7:10 am This might be because I literally watched the video in the middle of the night (woke up, checked my phone, couldn't sleep, watched the vid), but was anyone else feeling slightly... uneasy after seeing it?

Anyway, I think the two apartment theory still holds up too. The video didn't disprove anything and it was interesting to see some new angles! I'm kinda tempted to collect all of the proof for the theory in a document but I think I've been procrastinating on studying enough.
While I am over here innocently watching the video frame by frame I thought I'd share a cheeky screen-cap that wasn't visible in the video at normal speed.

Well, this video would have converted me into buying if there was a show in my city, but sadly I'm moving to San Francisco and its not worth a trip down to LA. May it be everything everyone wishes, may Dan tone down the acting voice he gets, and may the bright neon lights not blind everyone.
I am impressed by putting a show together in three weeks, and the long days they pull. Love the effort and professionalism lack of divaness.

I'm going to be very brave right now and post in the main thread.
I don't actually have anything to add - like everyone, I loved the vlog and I'm more excited for II now than I was yesterday - but I just want to say that I'm particularly interested in what they have to say about "growing up with us". I discovered Dan and Phil when I was 25 (I'm 28 now) so I was already well grown up by the time I stumbled into the void. I don't know many young phans (if any) but I wonder if what DnP think about the subject will align with what the younger audience think. I also wonder how DnP view their own growing up, if they see it in the same way that we do, from the outside, and how they've matured faster or slower than other people their age who are living "normal" lives.

This video was exactly what I needed! It was sweet cute and ~domestic.~ I definitely agree with what some were saying in that if they do a fanficion part it will probably be super cringy. Also I thought we were stepping away from TATINOF branding and II was something totally different. Hopefully I'm reading it wrong and they actually have something else in mind for all those props.
Also with the two flats thing I still don't see it. If there supposed to have one flat for filming and one for living then why do they film in both. I've asked this before and some people said laziness but it still doesn't make since to me. Like the part where they are eating breakfast; that would be the "filming flat" since that's the kitchen they use for baking, so why would they leave their "other flat" and go to this one to eat breakfast when they have apparently filmed in their "living flat" before? Just seems like a bit of effort. Idk I just think that their flat is quite large and has multiple floors, something dan told us.

That video was so lovely. It reminded me that they're really good at vloging and I would love to see them do it more often. Though I guess instastories might be the next best thing (that I'm v excited for).
They keep talking about some simulation/VR-thing and I'm very curious about what that's going to be. Has it to do with the voice recordings? Or was that just for the prop bit? Is it going to be an interactive adventure online for the people who can't come? I have so many questions.
All in all the video was filled with tiny cute and domestic moments and that is really what we want, isn't it.

@ladyknight1512 ive started becoming their fan late in my highschool years (2011~2012? yeah i was right smack dab into the no homo phase) and i can sort of understand where he is coming from. i definitely thought i was aware of many things and seemingly got my shit together when i was 16~17 but now im almost 24 i know that i MOST DEFINITELY DIDNT. also, as a fan, i was so much more of a vocal demon phannie back then. my tumblr was full of my shippy fanarts and headcanon text posts about their private lives - not that im dismissing people who do those things even now, im just stating how much more intrusive i was being. this coupled with dan being very vocal about being a separate person to phil, so everyone was just so jumpy and on their toes. i didnt care most of the time; i mean, at the back of my head i knew i had to treat them with respect because theyre real people but i never really knew how. its not until now that im actually working in an environment where im involved with families and children's lives as a daycare teacher that i understand how keeping privacy and professionalism is important.
so yeah, its a pretty interesting thought because i do certainly feel like them and the fanbase has "grown up" to some extent. at least, on my part.
@hello9217 im sorta with you on this one. i feel like they dont wanna subject themselves to too much trouble going back and forth places. but at the same time i wont dismiss the theory itself because i like seeing peoples proof for it. anyways, going back to my own thoughts, it could be a larger space than what it appears to be. when they were deciding the floor and we saw a bit of the kitchen and lounge(?), it felt like a bigger space to me, like the glass door where phil changed in his viewers decide his clothes seemed to be another room. i also most definitely remember some doors behind where phil is sitting in the video. so yeah, the entire floor is not just THAT room. as for the balcony thing; idk how uk flats work but i know theres corner ones that lets you have more than one balcony/porch area? or at least a bigger one. i know some people have mentioned how empty the flat looks in earlier videos but i just thought it could be that they still havent finished packing. anyways, im still open to the 2-flats theory tho.

I've seen a lot of people, on tumblr mostly, talk about how connected they feel due to growing up with the guys so that'll be an interesting part. They must be conscious of how deeply people feel so I expect they'll do things like that justice.
I wonder if it will indeed be a choose-your-adventure thing with all those props or something else entirely that we havent thought of. When they brought the police baton out as well as the handcuffs, I can only think of their calendar and how it was one of the most suggestive photos thanks to their smirks and raised eyebrows. The stuffed animal and pet carrier, get-a-dog seems too obvious and also it's not a dog (I think it's a rabbit. Easter seems a stretch from that). Flower crown, they dressed up in those for the tumblr video and then pastel edits cos they kept seeing themselves edited and drawn in them. Heh, I dunno, mind's just wondering all sorts of things.
Very interesting to see that almost-hidden shot of the guy on the chair removing the wasp from the room. I'd never thought to slow their videos down and it sounds so weird hearing their speech slow down that far. That shot happens just as the scene changes, I guess it's only a fraction of a second or it would have been visible (maybe they didn't even notice it while editing?)

I think "eating breakfast" is potentially an exaggeration of what they were doing there. They were sharing a single box of cereal in a kitchen where the only contents are a bunch of colorful decorative props.... and a kettle.hello9217 wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 11:32 am Also with the two flats thing I still don't see it. It's not like the filming flat goes unused. They probably work in it almost daily, so of course they're gonna have a snack and the makings of coffee/tea in that kitchen. So, my POV is that they were probs filming something for the gaming channel and then took a break to decide on stage flooring (for the vlog, because I'm sure they made that decision earlier).
I also think that flat is less a "filming" flat and more of an "overall work" flat. There's a shot/picture somewhere when you can see the reflection of a metric fuckton of boxes/mail stacked on that kitchen island. I'd bet money that they store all of their work/PO deliveries there (if they haven't had their delivery address changed to that flat altogether).
I'm clearly a #2FlatTruther, so my other add-on to this is that I think they never intended to film in their "living" flat. But we all know they're a touch lazy. From the get-go you saw Dan doing liveshows in his little corner of the ~homey flat and Phil did what? Like a grand total of two liveshows out of his closet before he gave up the effort of schlepping over there for the more comfortable living room as well.

Yeah, I’m a bit confused about the tone of the show myself. There was all this talk of real Dan and Phil and not being like TATINOF, and while I never imagined it would just be like stand-up comedy or nice anecdotes the whole time, there feels like a a similar vibe. Will being stuck in another world be literal or just an aesthetic? Will there be a balance of the persona bits (Dan vs Phil, choose your own adventure) and real bits and discussion on that? I feel like their going to let the audience get carried away and then point a big mirror at us and shame us. I mean probably not, that would be good for anyone. With all this giving the people what they want and leg, foot content etc I feel like there could be something to Dan telling Phil he should keep his shirt buttoned up no matter what anyone tells him. Like will that be an option? Telling them to take their shirts off? Where is the line? I’m remembering a dream someone on here had with them both shirtless on stage. I’m hoping the themes Dan mentioned at 1 am will be addressed thoughtfully and not the ranting he mentioned.hello9217 wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 11:32 am This video was exactly what I needed! Re the two flats. I don’t think it’s just laziness, though I have mentioned that along with the wifi situation. I also feel like Dan in particular has been wanting to be more and more authentic in the last year, while Phil was a bit slower to embrace it. Like they might have been on the same page with the separation of work and private life and not showing much when they first rented the flats, but Dan decided pretty early on he wanted to do his liveshows in the piano nook, not in the dinof glass closet.
Phil took longer, starting off in the slounge on their old sofa crease, maybe partly out of nostolgia and familiarity (probably more for us than him, but then again he didn’t show us diddly while he was there). Then in the AP room maybe to make a statement, maybe not (the post eBay mystery boxes one was probably just out of convince, he had finished filming just before his weekly liveshow slot, oh how I miss that schedule). But eventually he went upstairs because it was better lighting, wifi and more convient.
In true Phil Lester style for awhile the backdrop was just a blank white wall and we had no idea where he was, but he eventually shifted his laptop angle and we came to see the now familar to us lounge. I think it’s now pretty obvious he’s been sat at the dining table in their kitchen the whole time. Similarly I think Dan did his first liveshow in the moon room not because he wanted to show us it, but because he got kicked out of the upstairs lounge (which appears to be one big open space) by Phil who was watching a show with his Mum (long distance) and just retreated to the nearest enclosed space.
I think scenes for videos have been shot in both flats pretty deliberately. With impersonal or professional spaces like university, therapist offices, etc. being shot in the filming flat, but personal spaces like Dan’s bed, chair for late night browsing and just home being shot in their living flat. This is most noticeable in Daniel and Depression. As for why they had cereal in the baking video. They were working, making decisions (could have been pre-filming some gaming videos) and I think it’s reasonable that they might have breakfast, lunch or just snacks in the filming flat while working.
Just saw @rizzo posted about this too

I don't have too much to add here except that it looks like the galaxy backpack is out on the counter beside them, and Dan's laptop is sandwiched between two folded shirts with at least one other shirt off to the side. The fact that they'd have food around in the flat (even if they don't primarily live in it) when they're planning on filming 3-4 videos at least makes sense to me.rizzo wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 2:02 pmI think "eating breakfast" is potentially an exaggeration of what they were doing there. Oh god I'm so fucking excited.
Like I hope they explore the topic of growing up because when I started watching them I was a suicidal 17 year old being shown AmazingPhil by my childhood best friend because 'you cant watch this guys videos and not be happy' - which is something I still stand by to this day. I'm nearly 23 (in 29 days
) and I'm still finding that to be true. I'm no longer suicidal, though I am still depressed, and I'm no longer the same person as I was before. I'm very different and also exactly the same? 6 years is a long fucking time.
I'm also just excited for this tour because I feel to some degree the dichotomy of AmazingPhil and Phil Lester, danisnotonfire and Dan(iel) Howell (although who fucking knows what his name is, he's apparently called Phil James Howard too soo....) is being shown to us. There are more candid moments being shown to the audience without them being super invasive. They feel more authentic because they have acknowledged that they are not the people we see on screen and its making me SO happy. I'm very excited to see them in May, and I'm also really excited to see them going forward. Its nice seeing them be so open on YouTube, and in real life. THIS is what I've always wanted from them and this is why I got so mad at Dan in 2015. I'm just happy that they're growing and that they are, at least to me, successfully pursuing more authenticity. Can I get a cheer that they filmed. IN DANS ROOM. At 1am. And made ZERO, no homo comments. Like Phil is in there and its not a big deal, and they're not making it one, and I'm so happy.
I honestly am going to be such a train wreck during the M&G
I have a lot of feelings towards them atm, mainly pride.

So many questions: Why did it get deleted? Is it because this should be a secret or is it because they definitely tagged a fan-run account?
If the piano is, in fact, supposed to be a secret, why? We know Dan's playing something, right? Is that piano even real? Is it a prop, since this is a stage design company? I don't think it's fake, given Dan's been practicing, but it's "special" in some way if they have to build it new, right? And now I want to know more SO BAD.

Add to that, why are they building one from scratch? Will it weigh less? Could they not find a white one to go with/stand out from the set? The frame looks light and relatively cheap to make, but buying and installing all the keys doesn’t seem so cheap. Maybe buying an old wooden one and spraying it white wasn’t an option? I’m thinking maybe due to weight, I have no idea really. I have a friend who makes stringed instruments and says old pianos get chopped up for the wood for guitars etc. Colour me curious.
Edit - maybe it’s cos they need it wired up differently than a home-based electric one (length of cables, how much power it can take and sound it can output?) so they can’t paint a wooden anyway since it lacks any sockets

I wondered the same on twitter and got this response, which makes sense to me!flarequake wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 3:39 pm Add to that, why are they building one from scratch? Will it weigh less? Ah, thank you. That sounds a better solution for weight and cost too.

If they took a real piano with them, it would have to be retuned after every transfer, which takes time and costs a lot of money. Not to mention that it might be tricky to find a piano tuner available on their exact schedule for every location.
Yeah I'd say it definitely looks like a lightweight casing for an electronic piano/keyboard. Can't see them lugging a grand piano around all over the place as they weigh a tonne plus the tuning issues, also they've left it rather late to build one from scratch!

I just want to say to everyone that has FINALLY converted to the 2 flats theory after this video:
1.) I told u so
2.) Welcome to the winning team
3.) I cannot believe that something I suggested to shitpost has ended up being not only true, but accepted almost universally on this forum haha,
PS I firmly believe the flats are in the same building because of the boys' laziness, general common features that are unusual otherwise (round walls, etc) and similar types of balconies.
Also this video has made me excited for the tour again. I was slightly dreading it tbh. Am still nervous I'll be the oldest and most awkward person at the M&G though.
