I mean who's to say they continued it, but I know they've mentioned it more than once, but these tweets are all I've got lol

Thank you! I only found one reference and it was Dan in a ls sounding pretty ambivalent about watching it, so I assumed they hadn't(because I apparently don't know how to search twitter). And, yes, Phil is right; episode 2 is fairly nightmare inducing. It makes me glad that at least Phil tried it! It's maybe my favorite tv show, but I know it's not for everyone, so I'm always happy when someone gives it a chance.

i really wanted to buy some of dan's merch, and i definitely would have bought the tee with the upside down smiley face if it didn't have such a #edgy slogan on the back of it (16yo me would have bought it in a heartbeat though)

also i second or third or twenty-fifth the call for part of phil's solo merch to be brightly colored/patterned socks. especially if they're in a pack of like six and none of them match

hmmm the reemergence of the eclipse shirt really surprised me! Otherwise, I pretty much echo what most people here have said - not my style but can def see the appeal for others. I actually love the idea of separate merch!

also, every time they get new merch and we get new HD photos of Cornelia my gay heart is happy

It was pretty much what I expected actually. I kind of like the bag, I see bags like that around a lot so it makes perfect sense to make one. I bought the dttm jumper. The highlight of the release though is this cute Sarah person (who I noticed wears a black ring on her right middle finger. That's ace :asexualheart: ).

A couple of months ago I applied for a job at the sock company that has done youtuber collabs in the past. I didn't get it and I'm kind of bummed because I would have loved to pitch deppy socks to them. It would have been the perfect match brand wise.

is this a thing? as someone who is on the ace spectrum and wasn't aware, i'm curious how widespread this actually is, and whether she might just be wearing random jewellery cause she likes it (it's really cool though, makes me wanna buy one).

It could absolutely be just a random accessory but a black ring on your right middle finger is often referred to as an ace ring. I have a couple of different ones that I switch between and it's just like a cool fun thing to show ace pride and feel connected to other aces. It's not very wide spread so it's almost like a secret symbol. I've worn it every day for almost a year and no one has noticed or asked about it. This video explains it pretty well!

When I saw the black ring, I definitely thought of it as an ace ring first, but I can never remember which hand you're supposed to wear it on, so I didn't want to be the first one to mention it in case it was on the wrong hand. I'm on the ace spectrum but not that involved in any ace or queer circles, so I have no idea how widespread the black ring is, but it definitely is a thing.

Ace ring: I didn't know it was a thing but that's really cool! I'm on the spectrum too so I might actually start wearing one too.

Japanese writing: I was so happy to see no merch with any japanese writing on it but there we go, lol. When will it stop.

knowing dan, he probably did it because it's ~ironic~
but. it's. tacky and unnecessary....
(not that Japanese writing itself is tacky, but DnP using it in merch is....)

why the hell is there a random apostrophe before the word... like, if you're gonna weeaboo, do it right and do some spell checking first (and no, that's not how japanese quotation marks look like).

I snorted. Somehow knowing it says 'bag' tips it over from just being a mess to being genuinely funny for me.

I love that reaction picture and I'm going to use it for everything now, thank you so much.

In a (not) surprising turn of events, I really, really dislike Dan's merch so far. There's nothing on there that I like. I know he said there's going to be more and this is a start, but dear god, I hope it's better than this stuff. I'm happy for him that he's doing his own thing and expressing himself etc, but personally I have no desire to look like I'm still stuck in my teenage emo years.

I'm actually also surprised to see this merch. Isn't this really just old dinof branding? The kind he was supposed to have ditched last year in the rebrand? What's it doing here now?

Ah well, guess I'll just look forward to seeing what phil comes up with

A general thought about his merch: I see a lot of people are slightly disappointed, but then again most of Dan's fans are teens so maybe he wanted to sell stuff that appeals to them the most.

I would find it weird if Dan is making merch targeted at his young audience while making videos with more adult topics/references. If my main target audience was 14, I wouldn't record lines about eating ass.

With the exception of a backpack (because mostly teenage/college age people are who need backpacks), I don't think he's marketing to a young audience. Introverted tag lines and black t-shirts don't make things emo or teenage to me - and I think I said once already but if he put "don't talk to me" with the upside down smilie on a short sleeve tee I'd buy the fuck out of it. All it makes me is... an adult who likes wearing jeans and t-shirts.

Rumour has it that as well as a couple quirky Dan and Phil items on the horizon, Phil may be working on new AmazingPhil merch too later in the year so watch this space! *mysterious dramatic music*
I wonder how late "later this year" is?

I know this was a couple days ago, but I just happened to rewatch Phil’s ‘Reacting to my Baby Videos!’ where he was wearing the same jumper two years ago and it appears to have metallic copper threads woven underneath the black and grey houndstooth pattern. ;)

I would have thought they would do it before tour started because it would make since to have both of them at merch stands but the phrasing of later this year sounds like we may have to wait a bit longer than that since tour starts in almost a month.
