Okay here goes me rewatching the video while slightly wine drunk.
1. Okay I would have actually been unable to continue watching the video if one of them fell. That shit gets me every time. The terror in their eyes. Priceless.
2. Pure Phil threatening violence.
3. The first time Dan moves without Phil would also have been an opportune time for a fall. I'm cruel I know.
4. Pan-icking. Pun god.
5. Threatening Phil with a pan. Kinky.
6. Phil: that butt. That ter
7. Yes Dan. Continue the domestic shaming of Phil eating things he shouldn't.
8. Soft and neat. He had to.
9. The fuck marry kill with the cereal characters.
10. Depressed, 26, and edgy jokes. My new signature.
11. Why can i only think of my best friend and her fiance????
12. I'm getting a few flashbacks to 5ish years ago. I think Dan's hand in his pocket is reminding me of 2012??? Why???
13. 'We're close. We're close.' #stopphil2k17.
14. Mufasa. TOO SOON.
15. Two grown men nearly burning their house down via food coloring top on burner.
16. 'Why are you like this?' How many times have I heard my best friend say that to her fiance??
17. CAN THEY GET CLOSER TO ONE ANOTHER
18. 'Oil me up.' 'My hands are too oiled up i cant push it down.' 'Grease me.' ???
19. Dan spitting the food coloring cap across the room is something I aspire to do.
20. Okay so I would NEVER allow my best friend to put my phone in their mouth. Never. But if you're swapping fluids other ways I suppose you're not concerned about phone germs....
21. Old married couple bickering cometh
22. Phil biting his tongue gives me feelings.
23. Underwear.
24. For all their missteps, they work well together. Must be something about living together for 7 years.
25. Trumpet tooting. My mind went too many places and I'M ASEXUAL.
27. Phil with the DANANDPHILGAMES PROMO. The business never stops.
28. Their heads nearly touched and just? Why do you torture us in this way?
29. The presenting conversation would be confusing to me at a young teen.
30. Oh my God. 30??? I am too obnoxious.
31. Phil's close up of Dan 'eating the smile' was v sweet.
32. I don't get the 'Angel inside my mouth' and 'hoep you bought breakfast after' comments. Phantom, explain??
33. Okay Phil asking Dan 'what's up' at 23.58 is like legitimately filled with concern. Dan looks a bit like something is wrong there (I'm sure a bunch of popping candies is unpleasant) and phil looks concerned. Briefly obviously but there's still concern there. Best friends, boyfriends, whatever. I think it's v sweet.
34. Shoulders.
Okay I need to go to bed. I'm sorry about how obnoxious this is. I should probably hide it.

I am here to enlighten you: they were implying that Phil had oral sex with an angel (hence, Phil had the angel inside his mouth), and Dan saying "hope you bought breakfast after" was sort of like "hope you treated them right and didn't just use them for sex." Kind of like if I was to jokingly flirt with my friend they might say something like "wow buy me a drink first jeez". Does that sort of make sense?obscureDnPreference wrote: Tue Oct 31, 2017 3:49 am 32. I don't get the 'Angel inside my mouth' and 'hoep you bought breakfast after' comments. Phantom, explain??

i'm loving phil acting like the dirty-minded man we all know he is, i've missed it for years now. also, these two dorks are so lovely and in love and i'm feeling so sweet about it, idek. i can't see end cards or whatever, so "the literal other half" was news to me, and i'm living for it. i agree with dizzy basically.
for people confused by the "angel licking inside my mouth"-"hope you bought breakfast after" exchange:
basically, phil sounded like he was saying it tasted like making out with an angel, dan interpreted that as hooking up with an angel, and if you hook up with people (or angels, idk) it's always nice to feed them the following morning.
also excuse me while i point out that david boreanaz's character on buffy was called angel, and phil has a pic of him in the bath. not an intentional ref, i'm sure, but still

I feel like I need to make a thread over house floor plan theories?? (nothing creepy, just all the interior... which is still weird, but...) video was amazing, no new insight to add. Back in the spring they did a joint liveshow for the first time in the new house, they definitely said it was a duplex (if anyone can clarify on the UK version that would be great) So now after all the double-kitchen and double-lounge views, my guess is they bought both parts of the duplex? I literally have an ongoing map I feel like I'm constantly adding to, just to understand where everything is.

i think that video killed me, and then brought me back from the dead. tbh i can't believe how much we've watched them grow as people over the years

Loved the video over all but, -5 points for not honoring the most sacred of baking video traditions... feeding each other!
And forget deppy for a moment... the real star of the video was Bryony’s sewing skills! That was one sturdy af seam!
And forget deppy for a moment... the real star of the video was Bryony’s sewing skills! That was one sturdy af seam!
i was conflicted about the challenge aspect of the video but holy hell
it wasn’t as “wild” as monster pops (although i see it as highlight of wild bc it was big, huge at the time) but the new video did made me yell internally “why are they like this?” on more than one occasion and i really enjoyed it.
the “literal other half” endscreen bubble had me dead i really can’t believe it’s real???
also, they live in a duplex and my theory is that the duplex was originally two apartments that the landlord bought and added a staircase to create the duplex. it explains the double kitchens/ intercomes and how when they did the joint liveshow after only moving in they referred to the lounge with the sofa crease as “downstairs lounge” meaning we know for a fact that the two floors of their apartment are not two separate apartments haha

Re: two flats vs duplex (because this theory, which I originally suggested to be a troll, is now the hill I will die on!)
I have lived in a duplex before. It’s just what landlords in the UK call any flat that’s over 2 levels. Mine was the basement and first floor of a big townhouse. It looks like d&p’s (one of their flats is definitely a duplex because it has stairs) is probably in a fancy apartment block. My friend lives in one in a less fancy apartment block in Leeds which has 3 bedrooms (including a master with an en suite) and a bathroom on the bottom floor, and a huge kitchen-diner on the top floor.
There’s no reason for them to ever have two kitchens, and if you are going to knock 2 flats together and redecorate/finish them to the high standard d&p’s have been, and have someone paying, I estimate, about £6,000 a month in rent, there’s no reason not to take one of the kitchens out as part of your renovation work because 99% of people won’t need or want 2 kitchens (also if it is in a fancy apartment block the landlord wouldn’t have been allowed to join two units cos of the way they’re usually leased, I believe) and you’ll make back the money you spent doing it in a month.
Someone mentioned they couldn’t fully believe it because the 2 flats would have 2 master bedrooms and Phil’s is so small and this is a fair point but... the gaming room is pretty large and it’s a bedroom - we know this because Phil said it was going to be his room but he decided they needed more space for gaming. So that’s the master bedroom. Yes it’s smaller than the moon room but I think one of the flats is smaller than the other.
Plus (I’m on my phone so can’t add pictures and also don’t understand tumblr so wouldn’t know how to look for them) parts of the flat look so vastly different from one another I just can’t believe they’re the same place. One (the one with the baking kitchen and where dan filmed most of his depression video) seems light and airy and open plan, and the other has that corridor running through the middle of it and looks generally darker. The bathrooms look totally different and usually when you’re decorating a place to rent you just use the same decoration across all bathrooms to save time/money (I appreciate this one is tenuous) One has light wood on the door and window frames and the other has dark wood - I’ve never seen that in the same house ever in my life before and it seems really weird to me.
I just think there’s no other option than they have 2 flats - either one for Dan and one for Phil, or far more believably, one for home and one for filming/work: but clearly these 2 like to work at 2am, can’t be bothered to get off the sofa, put on real clothes, etc. so it hasn’t worked out that way.
(I can’t believe the first thing I did when I woke up this morning was spend half an hour writing this)

I like the idea because I'd like to know the exact lay of the land of the appartment they show us when they aren't travel vlogging, but let's face it, it is kind of creepy we're using reflections on fidget spinners and windows to try figure out all the rooms and there's not a single item of furniture, book or boardgame that escapes a deep analysis, google searches and speculation. It's not exactly something I would do with any other person in my life, and I would feel like my privacy is being a bit invaded if someone did that to mesonicgreen wrote: Tue Oct 31, 2017 4:28 am I feel like I need to make a thread over house floor plan theories?? Agreed. I think it's very likely they have two appartments for life and working, but I think the attempts to figure it out go way too far sometimes. Things like trying to make floor plans seriously freak me out. It's clear they wanted more privacy when they moved last spring, and I'm willing to respect that, and keep speculation to a minimum.Stakhanov wrote: Tue Oct 31, 2017 8:20 am but let's face it, it is kind of creepy we're using reflections on fidget spinners and windows to try figure out all the rooms and there's not a single item of furniture, book or boardgame that escapes a deep analysis, google searches and speculation. I really loved the new "baking" video with no baking in it
The rice crispies and the Monster Pops honestly seem like recipes I wouldn't mind trying with my nephews when they're a little older, and I don't panic seeing them near a working stove.
One thing I do sometimes wonder when I see the change between now and say, 2012, is if they in hindsight regret denying a relationship beyond friendship. I can easily imagine several reasons why they did it, but man, I don't envy the constant evasion they have/had to do either.
To the people talking about a two flat theory. If there are two flats then my guess is the Master Bedroom for the downstairs is the gaming room. Because let’s be honest that’s not what that space was intended for originally.
- Big room
- Seems to have a bathroom leading off of it
- Built in wardrobe space
I’m not really sold on the two flats. A duplex in the UK is a two storey flat which it seems like Dan and Phil have. They film “mostly” in one half and live in the other.
Besides I’m going to put my faith in good old fashioned human laziness, which reminds me how much of a pain in the ass it would be to constantly move my stuff between two flats.
Also not buying Phil having a secret extra room. I can understand the reason they would want to hide that they share the moon room but I don’t understand why on earth they’d hide an extra bedroom. Especially as it would squash the sharing a bedroom theories pretty effectively.

thewaytobehappy Genuinely the funniest vid they've done in a while. Maybe next year they can just do away with the baking altogether and microwave some chocolate while they stuff each other's faces with ingredients for a would-be desert
Maybe they can eat the sweets from each other's bodies and Dan could tweet "why use two plates when we have Phil's body?". The post-post-post baking universe
I jest, but i've got to say that the video was deliciously over the top. Just like "the other literal half" they knew perfectly of course how it would get interpreted when they would get under one sweater and be forced to synchronize their heads, hands and feet.
If it were the case that the 2012 denial (though it's not limited to 2012) was a lie, I hope they don't regret it in hindsight. My sense is that they won't be met with a wall of hate for coming out. I have to say though, this video for me very much gave me strong non-romantic friend vibes. A lot of attention seems to go to "the literal other half" comment, but what stood out for me was that they kept hands to their own pockets (mostly :-p), and Phil didn't seem to happy about the noise of their skin slapping or Dan pulling up his underwear. Not that any of the flirty and less flirty moments imo tell us much about the reality of their relationship though. It's their edited video, and they are smart and self-aware people who also know what kind of behavior the audience likes.

I don't know. For me it's never little moments the Phandom focuses on, but their overall history. Even with my general dislike of making assumptions about RL people, I find it hard to look back at theirs and not see two people falling in love. And with the way they're living now, two people that still very much are. Like you I hope they have no regrets. But that might be a discussion best put aside.Stakhanov wrote: Tue Oct 31, 2017 8:55 am If it were the case that the 2012 denial (though it's not limited to 2012) was a lie, I hope they don't regret it in hindsight. One thing I will say regarding their living spaces is that I genuinely love how clean they always appear. Their previous London apartment looked a bit messy sometimes, but never dirty. Things like that make me really happy.
I'm considering taking bets on Dan cancelling his LS last minute. After a week of content I can easily see him doing it.

You're cute, I like you
This discourse about them having two apartments to themselves really makes me laugh again at the people who used to go "they don't get paid that much for what they do...". Owning two big apartments in London isn't searching for pennies at the back of the couch.
It's okay, if they do have separate apartments and it's total Phandivorce and not just keeping work and love life separated, then someone stitch the gap in their jumper quick! (Kidding, that'd never happen because there's no way, judging from that video alone, they're not together and a month from getting engaged). (Huh, speaking of, I really don't know if getting married would give them that confidence to come out as a couple somewhat officially, like confirming that is going to happen/has happened. I mean, if so, would they wait until after the wedding? Or after they've gotten engaged?) Ok will stop talking in brackets now.
This is interesting as immediately I just want to find reasons and excuses, you know. Like you're right about how it's edited, because they're always to some extent trying to remain in control, so maybe they not only control flirty things they say but the non-flirty things they do and say, to even it out a bit. Maybe when they think its too serious and not jokey haha good friends but won't confirm we're a couple for sure haha enough. But it's just Phil's facial expressions so.... who knows, maybe he's just the way he is. I used to have a thing about really not liking French kissing, maybe Phil's schtick is that he doesn't like the whole kind of fart/wedgie humour. Maybe it reminded Phil of his own wedgie to sort outStakhanov wrote: Tue Oct 31, 2017 8:55 am If it were the case that the 2012 denial (though it's not limited to 2012) was a lie, I hope they don't regret it in hindsight. They already said from the start that the "upstairs" space is for living and the "downstairs" space is for filming so the camera and lighting equipment don't get in the way of their everyday life, so if the two areas are connected (duplex) or not doesn't really matter that much to me.

That's the actual moment past which if they reveal that they are not actually together I will feel like actual fool and it will be hard for me to forgive them - too cruel and intentional.koalaselfie wrote: Tue Oct 31, 2017 12:31 am "the literal other half"

(I understand that it's a joke but like...the connotations of 'other half', at least as I know it, pretty strongly indicates romantic partnership! What cheeky shits)

Honestly the first thing I thought was that this was a variant on Rick like his neighbor called him, but that didn't make any senseobvsly wrote: Tue Oct 31, 2017 6:25 am Phil likes this tweet and I think it totally deserves to be on Dan Memes 2017. How does one mess up that badly
I can't wrap my head around the two kitchens. How much money are they wasting for rent, living in a two-kitchen-apartment in London? They are rich, but they definitely don't need two kitchens. The only reason for two kitchen would be phandivorce.
(Can we have a smiley for phandivorce, or is that too... useless?)
Or maybe they actually bought the other flat, are renovating it, and they rent an apartment above/under while it's not ready? Doesn't make sense with two totally finished kitchens.
Or maybe Phil has his own apartment with a big secret master bedroom for Janice and their baby, and we can't see it because the crib in the corner is too obvious.

You should never go to sleep on an argument.
Made an account to just make a potential point that maybe the whole two flat thing is why Dan seemed so vague explaining the whole “this flat has a million floors and is confusing”. Maybe they have a a second flat on another floor in this building just for filming. It was just impossible to explain that without saying that Phil’s room is therefore in a different flat since it seems to be on that same filming level.
I'm pretty sure they have a duplex born of two different flats - you could see that the internal staircase lead to the downstairs where the gaming room/phil's is. I agree that the gaming room probably was the master bedroom of the downstairs originally, it's the thing that makes more sense considering it has a bathroom inside.
I think there's no point thinking they live separately, not even re phan or not phan: their shared possessions are all over both flats/lounges, Phil does his live shows in the upstairs etc, they for sure live together - If they actually have a flat for work only or if they are actually not together and thus have one flat each, There's still an internal staircase.
Meanwhile, I'm still amusing myself with fake Dan. I can't wait to rewatch the video though!
I'm curious what Dan will say tonight

Will probably never be over the BONCAS and the beauty of Phil Lester.

I'm not buying the two apartment theory just because it seems like such a waste of money given that they film in both. Like what's the point? Would they really spend twice the rent they would otherwise need to on an extra flat with the purpose of keeping one private, only to then film in both anyway? Seems pointless! Surely if they were spending that much on it they'd break through their laziness and ensure they stuck to the original plan of filming in one and living in the other. I know they can afford it, but it still seems excessive.
I think it's plausible that the top floor contains the rooms with floorboards (so, Dan's bedroom, the upstairs living area/piano nook, the other kitchen/dining area complete with skylight) while downstairs is tiled (Phil's room, the gaming room - which I definitely think was intended as a bedroom given the ensuite - the slounge, Dan's filming nook and the baking kitchen). Could just be that they were renovated at different times, so reflect different eras.
The two kitchen is really the one factor that throws me though, because I have to admit it does seem really unlikely that one apartment would contain two kitchens. I googled 'apartment with two kitchens' just to see if that's an actual concept and literally nothing came up, so ???? Maybe I am actually wrong and they do have two apartments. I definitely don't think they live separately though as their upstairs lounge definitely looks like it's shared by the two of them.
