So I don't know if any of you actually care but I've been kkeeping up with the drama on Twitter about those accounts making prediction and pretending they have inside info. The most recent one is actually pretending to be Dan with a secret account, tweeting all sorts of things and tbh being kinda rude to the people tweeting. I'm not sure if I'm more concerned about the people behind the account or the people tweeting them believing it's actually Dan having a fandom breakdown. They're saying it's like the customerservice blog of 2012, saying Phil isn't happy with the account etc

It's kinda entertaining lol (they also lurk here, they posted screenshots of some of our posts)

Any chance you can link some of these accounts? I'm about to go to lunch and would love some entertainment!!

Isn't spooky week supposed to be videos on 6 days leading up to Halloween? So Oct 31st is a thing in itself, and there's no upload on actual Halloween (unless they postpone baking). Idk to me that makes sense and I don't expect anything else.

Enjoyed all spooky videos, except the D vs P one (I just didn't get that game). Wasn't spooked, but their chemistry is though the roof recently.

Honestly though. Their chemistry has truly been something lately, especially Phil's displays of flirting. I have only been deep in the phandom since March so I can't really say how much things have changed but to me it's crazy that anything is a possibility. Like before people used to be reaching but now... there is just so much fondness radiating through their videos. That being said though if Dan ever says in this video the phrase "give the people what they want" I will reach through my screen and slap that boy. All we were expecting was wholesome loving baking it was you who decided to cuddle up to your bro.

It makes me roll my eyes whenever things like this happen, but then I'm a sucker for drama so I can't help but follow.

What makes me upset is that the way they're tweeting is mocking the fandom and also, as if Dan would ever admit there was something between he and Phil even if ages ago. A few days ago they went on a expose tweet spree with other fandom people, messy af. It makes me roll my eyes whenever things like this happen, but then I'm a sucker for drama so I can't help but follow.

I read through some of those asks and just... what's the motivation here? Is it fun for the person doing this? It can't be good for your psyche to have people calling you names and insulting you because you're impersonating someone famous, can it? So why do it? Sure. People like attention, but you're literally pretending to be someone else. I just kinda feel bad for whomever is running that account.

I personally believe that Dan would never do something like this. When he had the other tumblr, he was upfront and told his audience it was him and what its purpose was. That was years ago and I think he has grown soooo much since then. He seems more secure and emotionally healthy since then. So what would his motivation be?

Yeah same. At first it sounded like someone who might have digged a bit too deep, and wanted to have some fun. Then the attention got huge and the whole "pretending they're Dan" started. Which I mean, I wish they stopped. For their own mental health more than anything else.

I doubt Dan would do something like this again, not this way. He is definitely in a much better place than he was 5 years ago, and he seems happy. And why would he do something involving Phil's privacy knowing he's not okay with it, like come on

First post here after spending ages lurking

I just went through some of "Dans" replies and whoever they are - do they seriously expect us to believe that "Dan" would forget who he is and answer questions about himself in the third person like this person is claiming?
Also do you guys think D&P know about this happening? Because most of the time they seem to be quite aware of what's going on. Tbh, if I were Dan I don't know if I'd be more amused or irritated by this, but then again it's rather obvious how young the person who's pretending to be Dan is so people should probably cut them some slack, some of the messages they god are quite worrying.

They fit right into a long tradition of wannabe Dans and Phils. The attention seeking on social media just gets worse every year. I remember in ye olden days people would go to sites like stickam and have something of an actual conversation. If you go on younow today, it's just a bunch of streams repeating "can we get x likes. Subscribe! Invite your friends. Here's my other social media links". Bores me to tears.
It remains to be seen if they somehow have some private information (the old address of Dan and Phil did get leaked by accounts like these...) but most of the times there's nothing there.
Here we are talking about it though so if the aim was to get attention... well it worked

From my experience, it's likely a girl around the age of 11-13. That's when you first start really getting into YouTubers and when puberty has only just begun and you're still immature. I did some stupid, cringey things myself back when I was 11 - though I can attribute a bit of that to undiagnosed autism - like sending myself asks on a Tumblr blog

So I bet this person just started it as a joke, or was egged on to do it by a group chat, and once it all started, they found the positive response (ie people thinking they're actually Dan and asking questions and stuff) addictive, even with the backlash. And that's really harmful to their mental health right as they transition from a child to a teenager, because once they're exposed all that will be left is the backlash, and I'd feel bad for the kid that has to deal with that hate knowing its their own fault.

But I'm being dumb; it's probably just a troll, someone who hates the Phandom or deppy or both. don't think Dan and Phil would care too much as even if the person behind it isn't a 12 year old, the people actually believing this crap must be around that age. I don't think it'll affect their standing in anyway.

They did a very similar thing to rice krispie cakes with the Easter nests. I hadn't had a clue what they might be doing with the marshmallows, but a very simple no-baking thing could be decorating them as ghosts, maybe with arms and legs made of gummy laces
