It's very interesting indeed. I can see it being played out like this.

I've seen this before, and what I always found especially poignant about it was that he reblogged it just after midnight on the day when the first accidental unprivating of the Valentine's Day video (via YouTube glitch) took place. It's just weird to me to think that just 13 hours later, his and Phil's whole world would be rocked forever. And like, the Vday Video is such a tangible symbol of Phil "loving him," so it's...idk, interesting and sad to me. When I think of this post in context.


Edit: Also I want to say, do you really think it played out like this SquishPhan (in terms of what Dan "wanted")? If so I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on their early relationship and how it evolved!

Edit 2: This goes for everyone, actually, not just SquishPhan -- I want to know what you all think about Deppy's relationship in the early days.

Yeah I agree with hophigh lol. If anything, it would've been more appropriate/less racially stereotypical for you to say it's American/North American cultural appropriation (but even that's still stereotypical and to put it bluntly, it sounds inaccurate to me to call it cultural "appropriation" in the first place seeing as North America is comprised of so many different cultures). I don't really see it as Dan appropriating a culture but more so incorporating the slangs/jokes that are used these days in the media and on social media.

I'm sorry, i was a bit generalizing and stereotyping. I didn't mean it literally, i meant it metaphorically, which is more offensive i should stop. I realized i don't know how to say it without offending anyone so here, watch this video.

Back on the subject of The Rules... (sorry, I'm obsessed )

I just realized that the last word in the first line of Rule 6 can't be "lists" or "lots," because in both of those cases the "t" would have to be quite tall, and that's not how Dan does his t's.



The letters he writes with a tall line are: d, h, l, b

"f" he writes more like a "j" and "t" he writes more like a "+" lol.

So, any thoughts?

sometimes his handriting is irregular though, so maybe it could also be late? and refer to being late on their schedules or something

The height of his t's is VERY consistent though. It never gets as high as his l's, d's, h's, or b's. It's always somewhere between half and three-quarters the height of his tallest letters.

Here are a few other ideas I've had and things I've thought about:

• Could it be "5. Being first to"
• Could the quotes in rule 6 actually just be an asterisk? Maybe whatever the asterisk went with (the other asterisk) is on the back of the sheet?
• Are we pretty sure that Rule 6 contains the phrase "reason to do"?

Some questions I have:

• What day did they upload SAP?
• Did Dan and/or Phil have a regular upload day during this era?
• At some point Dan promised to upload every Thursday, right? When was that?

Thoughts on Phil's vid: meh. They have a good chemistry but because the video idea itself is just too cringy i can physically feel how uncomfortable hazel is. And Phil being all persona heavy again. Great.

The video was a bit underwhelming, but did anyone else think that at 7:17, when they talk about editing, Phil was talking as Dan? "Thanks, Phil!" I know it was probably like a message to himself but my idea is cuter.

I thought the collab was just OK. Nothing terribly funny or intriguing, but a nice bit of fluff. They do have good chemistry and I enjoyed watching them together, despite the fact that I really don't care for Hazel's voice.
I agree that it may have been more interesting if the states were filled in and they had to guess which one was which. I found it satisfying though; many British people boast about getting better educations than Americans and not being so "Only my own country matters" like Americans generally are taught to be, so it was fun for me to see the educated Europeans stumbling so badly at American geography.

On a completely different note, I wanted to mention something about the tour.
It has been confirmed to me that the two of them really ARE basically running the show on this tour because I tried to pull something sneaky before Hollywood tickets went on sale since I knew I wasn't going to be able to afford to buy one. I contacted a couple of people who could contact a couple other people for me and discovered that before dates were announced and tickets went on sale and even up to literally the day of sale, even their publicist was basically clueless about what was going on.

Joining the "it was ok" opinion. I liked the one from yesterday more. This idea was not the greatest one and with the tour spon, I just feel like they've been talking about the tour way too much and soon we'll have the other vid Dan talked about in his ls (I guess the rules for the crafting sections) so I'm very much over all the tour spon. I would much rather a danandphilshop spon at this point.

Also, I think they should have changed the setting for at least one of the vids, this one would have looked better if they were at Phil's dining table with the map behind them and Hazel's would have looked amazing by their fireplace now that I think about it.

It had really cute moments tho, the babe one was one of the best. I ship them, forget phan xD I hope they do more vids together in the future and I'll def rewatch these ones. I really enjoy watching Phil interacting with other people.

Louise's collabs better be the fricking holy grail, I don't remember who mentioned the fact that they announced the collabs 4 months ago. I mean, really? announcing a collab 4 months in advance like wtf.

I'm really looking forward to Dan's ls tomorrow, I'm so in for over dramatic Dan expressing how lonely he is. Can we like make a compilation of all the "Phil left me/I miss Phil" tweets he has made throughout the years now that everybody is bored? xD

life got in the way and now i'm late to the party but i love phil and hazel's chemistry (on my top 3 along w dan+tyler and dan+louise) so i enjoyed both videos even though the challenge was kinda meh and the tipsy talk could have used more alcohol

since we were talking hogwarts houses recently, hazel is another youtuber that is a Strong Slytherin™ according to me, maybe that's why i like seeing them together

i want hazel and dan to collab just to see how many people would go deaf or at least end up with a headache, jfc they are loud

re: sims, probably one of my favorite episodes ever just because //stuff happened//, thank you game for making their boring af sims videos slightly less boring and more eventful

i wish they would add some warning on screen every time dan screeches, i find it funny (how does he even make those noises wtf) but it kills my ears

^ I can't really tell if this is sarcastic or not (I'm awful at reading sarcasm oops)but I kind of feel the same. I mean I see both sides (when don't I though) but it's always problematic when celeb(ish) people poke fun at people who are clearly very dedicated to them (unless those people themselves are being problematic). That being said, just liking these comments I don't think is too big of a deal? IMHO??

As much as I feel out of place surrounded by the stereotypical viewers, I also acknowledge that they're arguably the most important part of their careers, and I'm also a big advocate for giving teen girls their own free space to release their emotions and passions without being made fun of for them, if that doesn't sound too soppy. That's sort of why I let everyone do their thing in the younow chats and the youtube comments, and I come here for the people I relate to more. (Insert soppy message about how this forum is cool.)

Also I'm pretty sure this type of rant gets brought up at least twice every thread so I'll stop here
