I think many British people have some Scandinavian in their DNA because Norwegians tried to invade England more than once (soz) and also had settlements in Scotland in the Middle Ages and stuff. Both Dan and Phil only have trace amounts of Scandinavian (like, about 1%, right?) which could well date back to the medieval period and the Norwegian attacks in England. But I think Dan's test thing said the Scandinavian lived in the 1800s which is really weird and doesn't make sense with him only being 1% Scandi. It either doesn't add up at all or I'm missing something. The thread is slow af so I'm gonna insert my random comment in here but this bit made me laugh because Dan looks nothing like Mediterranean lmao I don't know where people see it? Although, granted, Mediterraneans are diverse too but I would've been very surprised if he had some in his DNA. I found interesting both he and Phil had some Scandinavian in their DNA - maybe some big migration movements that I never studied?
I also think it's interesting that they both have over 10% French/German in their DNA because that has to be more recent. Is that common in England? (I'm really bad at figuring out what these percentages mean so maybe 10% French/German also just dates back the Norman invasion or something and that's why they both have it but 10%, and even 17% in Dan's case, seems so much to be from that long ago.)
