Though I feel like we knew most of these things already, I still really enjoyed that video.

All in all a nice dinof video, some usual self-deprecating humor (smh Dan you DID sprint, remember the Bahamas incident??) and nice mention/casual promo of Phil in the beginning.

My favorite part must be the dimple check, I could see the betrayal on his face LOL

New Dan video!

Just started watching but I love that he accidentally blew Phil's cover. He said Phil got him the DNA thing and Phil said in his video that a friend of his mum (or an aunt?) did the test. Hmm.

Quoting myself to add a few comments now that I've finished watching:

I liked that he had a little sign in the background that said "AWW FUCK NAZIS". It's blurry, but at least it's a statement.

Also, I checked Phil's video again and he says that his mom has a friend called June who is a doctor and gave him a "free DNA test".

I didn't like the fact that he rehashed that dentist/pain kink thing like it was something he had never said while using the same words and it kinda bugged me, but maybe I'm just in a bad mood because I'm hungry.

Idk, his comments felt a bit too... dare I say... "persona-heavy" for me.

I loved the part about the dimples though.

Edit: I'd love to do one of these because I'm sure my results would be more varied than theirs but they're so expensive!

I really enjoyed that! Some signature Dan humor (honestly, I wish I could joke about my issues like that, it must feel quite cathartic) and as a redhead myself I was cackling through that whole bit.
His... intense... love of freckles is extremely amusing. That sentence is going to get the heck giffed out of it. But the dentist thing is a teensy bit disturbing to me, because I personally have a terror of dentist visits. It feels a little like I know far too much about Dan's actual-not-for-a-funny kinks now. Good video, but *shudders* yeesh.

I don't think it's a foundation, I think he tried to cover up blue under eye area with spot concealing but didn't exactly manage to blend it in.

i wasn't really looking forward to the dna video since it was (correctly, congrats) predicted, but i'm finding i actually like the occasions when deppy do the same video on both of their channels. i wouldn't want it to be a permanent installment (since it'd probably be the only way left to merge them into a single deppy entity), but it's interesting to see both of their takes on the same thing. as someone who genuinely enjoys his humour, i found the video more interesting and amusing than i'd have thought (and also more interesting than phil's tbh since i thought it had a clearer structure). didn't think the ginger bit was too funny as i'm not a fan of that sort of jokes in general, but i suppose it had to be there to make the 10 minute cut.

random thoughts:
- the introduction first of all left me in awe how much creative energy dan had put into relating a dna test to his ~channel aesthetic~. seriously. a for effort. but i actually liked it so no harsh sarcasm here from me
- while i don't fully believe in june's existence *cough*, i thought dan made it seem as if phil had ordered him a kit on the internet after his own was such a success -- to blow his cover, he'd have had to mention phil buying both of them.
- i think what made me laugh most was the "...my last video which hasn't been deleted"
- when will the dentist talk stop

and i liked the video but i saw people talking about this on tumblr and i thought it would be relevant here, i obviously agree with 'ayy fuck nazis' or whatever it said but like lets not praise dan too much for having basic human decency you know.

and i am really looking forward to dan and phil's ginger child that they clearly started the adoption process for in march, they obviously though they would have adopted it by august but it has been delayed by two months, we all know its true guys and dan and phil thought they could hide it from us clearly we are too clever for them :geek: :geek: :geek: (i think this should be the new illuminati triangle)

Firstly kudos to whoever predicted this, let alone that it'd be the next video, AND someone else who said it'd be uploaded tonight, as I didn't expect any of those to come true. You guys are great

Secondly, like the Dan Takes Quizzes About Himself video, I really enjoyed his spin on a video Phil had already done, but he made it his own. The editing was funny and well-executed, I actually felt I learned something when he looked up events that happened between Scandinavians and East Africans in the 1800s, and he even tied it all together with a loose moral message by showing us in the face of neo-Nazism in 2017 that we were once all derived from the same biological and societal beginnings. And gave a very unsubtle "fuck Nazis" statement. Good on you, Dan this video was so much better-structured too, I appreciated the Cyrillic "equality" shirt, and if this is how he chooses to tackle more intelligent, adult videos in the future, I'm not complaining.

I did kind of scream and cover my ears when he mentioned his gum-scraping kink again though... TWICE

Maybe the 'off vibes' he's been giving recently (not that I noticed them tbh) were to do with the news. I too haven't been doing much else except read the news and cry.

I've been thinking recently, it must be really stressful for him to feel he has to uphold this 'quality threshold' on his channel out of the two of them. I'm glad Phil's just doing whatever he wants, Jenna-style, and that's great, but he already has a dedicated audience to watch them. It's much harder to get into a regular vlogger as you have to care about them to keep watching, and the majority of people discovered Phil through Dan. Dan's the one whose videos get more views, Dan's the one whose humour and sketch vlogs attracts a large casual audience, Dan's the one who this feels he has to live up to this creative integrity and Phil benefits from that. Not that Phil doesn't work hard, and of course he's partly why Dan got so popular to begin with. Perhaps Dan doing the 'high-brow' videos is in exchange for Phil doing more of the business side of things and working harder behind the scenes. Idk.
