Tom already said/clarified in a last week that tinder was the one who rejected rejects 2. Dan and Phil had no prior knowledge until after it was rejected that he wrote it and stuck it in last week.

I actually feel like this is just Dan not wanting to refer to brand deals as such again. We already know from Tom that the idea got rejected. Maybe it happened that the original Rejects script got shot down by Tinder, Tom rewrote it, and then Dan shot that one down? But I doubt it. I think it was just Dan trying to explain why they weren't doing it and not realizing quite how honest Tom is about the process.

Hey, people with a better understanding of money and business: what would the payment situation be in a spon-collab? Because for the most part I've always operated on the assumption (well it's more than an assumption since many people have said as much) that collabs are usually just mutually beneficial business transactions friendship playdates in order to get all up in each others subscribers (ew sorry). Like Louise and Dan weren't signing contracts or exchanging money to hang out and discuss an awkward dinner, etc. But if he's going to be a huuuuge draw for a spon on Tomska's channel, is it likely he'll get a cut of the payment? Or otherwise paid as a one-off thing by TurboPunch? I'm just curious.

Lilly Singh I think follows the arc you lay out in your comment; older videos from 2011 (that are still up anyway) are mostly talking straight to the camera while her videos starting in late 2011/early 2012 through to the present are pretty consistently character/skit based Types of X or How Not To Y. She's really really good at it.

i mean i loved tatinof because you could tell how proud they were of it and how hard they worked on it, not because the content was something particularly interesting for me, but yeah, I don't need tatinof 2. I'd be all board the train to a more authentic documentary though. That said, they've drawn really clear boundaries in regards to their personal life and I can't imagine they could be open in the way that would make a compelling documentary about their lives. Not sure what they're up to, will be interesting to see.

I really liked the liveshow, it felt really positive to me. Dan talking about his video was great, I took away from it that he was happy with how the video turned out and the reception it received. He confirmed Phil took the photos (which we knew) and used the male pickup line as his example for being out in public. I loved that he mentioned that other people are looking to meet people to ‘play board games’, but he wasn’t even trying to meet friends . Also, really glad we did not get sexy internet dating 3.
I am so thankful not to live in my middle school/high school town. Dan’s story of going home is what I feel when I’m home and run to the Wal-Mart by the house. Running into people who knew you at a certain point in your life is scary. Though really Dan, like a cap is gonna hide a 6’3 man. I love his anecdotes on Colin. That boy loves that dog so much.
The thirteenth doctor conversation was great to hear. Like Dan, I haven’t really seen anyone complain, though I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about people complaining. The doctor has clearly regenerated into so many different people, though I am excited that we get to SEE a female doctor now. His connection with the female doctor and moonlight was interesting.
Wimbledon. Can these boys go nowhere without travel drama? I can picture Phil making a run for it once he got out of the car. I’m glad they had a good time, though I feel bad that Phil was sick during it. (also, yes, tennis scoring is weird).
Some other notes:
-I want a pimm now.
-An interesting note that he said to listen to your grandmothers, not parents
-I liked that most of Anthony’s channel was improv. They played off each other really well.
-At 31:38, dan briefly looked like fetus dan.
-Dan spent a good amount of time talking/praising phils video. Chill dude, you don’t want to be too obvious.
-Dan went into talking about his hair. I loved hearing him say never again to straightening his hair. Keep the curly hair forever
-The whole GQ magazine bit. He pulled out a magazine, was talking about how it only got it for the ads, and then shows the ads are all guys.
-Talking about Tomska’s team. Dan only has himself…..and phil’s photography’s skills.
-New gaming channel video when Phil gets better (I guess that’s a good enough excuse)
-Dan is already talking about a new video already. I’m hesitant to believe him since he just uploaded last week.
-I don’t know why, but I love dan casually throwing things. I think its just a funny visual gag.
- The anal tampon shout out from Phil. One, not only was Dan most likely there for that or watching at the time, but he also rewatched it.

Ah yes, My favorite secret project thing of all time that I accidentally found and was the first to actually post about it, the lemonaidmoney follows. But, I really find this persons thread of "evidences" as to what it might be a major stretch though. Also, I'd like to point out that Phil's been following the manager since at least 2012/2013-ish from what i could figure out from twitter follows. But the newest part on there that is a bit interesting is this,
I have a little theory now after seeing this.. In Dan's last live show (the july 4th one), didn't he talked about how he was disappointed in the fact that they didn't get to go to japan for that crunchy roll sponsor? Then was about to tell on another chance to go back but cut himself off and said he'd talk about that in two months? Is it possible that whatever this documentary (fact-ent means factual entertainment) is about, they wanted deps to fly over there but they had do turn it down due to some convention agreement? It seems possible, i guess?

I thought he was comparing the general age of their audience. We know a lot of the phandom is not 18+ but Zoes main audience is children so if she did a video on Tinder, then surely he can.
I would love for Dan and Phil to come out with a really harrowing documentary because I think it has the potential to be very emotional and inspiring if it's genuine. They both kind of come from humble beginnings and I'm sure the adjustment of having such a big fan base was hard for them and their relationship (whatever it may be and all that jazz). I recently watched Chris Crocker's documentary Me at the Zoo and it made me cry! It really humanized him and made me really sympathize with his situation. But yeah I wish Dan and Phil didn't have a private romantic life (even though I totally would too) just because THAT is an amazing story, but I know that's impossible hahahaha!

Add this to the pile of things that I'm pleased Dan feels comfortable enough to talk about now, but hearing Dan flat out say "I have social anxiety" with no vagueness or self-distancing from it, just... damn. As someone else pointed out to me, it's such a stark contrast from Dan in 2015 trying to dansplain the meaning of the word "anxious" so people wouldn't freak out and make assumptions about his mental health.
And obviously, assumptions shouldn't be made, but that's why it's nice that 2017 Dan uses the word anxiety and doesn't immediately backtrack from it. It makes things perfectly clear, and makes it clear that he's okay talking about it (on his own terms) now.
That was a nice liveshow overall, nothing amazing but fairly pleasant and calming. That Wimbledon story sounded genuinely terrifying, and I appreciated Dan's description of laryngitis-Phil as pathetic and hedgehog-like

Completely agree with you, that's how I interpreted it as well! Assuming it's a collab with Anthony then he's already filmed it and it just needs to be edited (it may not be with Anthony obvs, but I feel like he said a few weeks ago that they'd filmed one together for his channel?).
Also, I find it very unlikely Dan and Phil would ever do a documentary that centred closely on their personal lives - that seems to go against everything they stand for, given that they've worked so hard to ensure that a significant portion of their lives are kept private and separate from their careers on the internet.

(I kind of always took that 'dansplaining anxious' thing as him trying to defend his use of the word in relation to himself without using a diagnosis or specific term because people can be dicks about assumed self-diagnosis - like unless he's got a signed form from a doctor to show everybody, then he's not allowed to say he has anxiety but rather is anxious about certain things. Not because he didn't want people to know/speculate he struggled with anxiety/social anxiety but because he didn't want people to argue with him or mitigate his experience by turning it into a 'who suffers worse/whose experience of their own mental illness is more legitimate' contest WHICH IS A THING and it is a frustrating thing. I took it as him toning it down (mitigating it himself) pre-emptively so nobody could do it for him. Since its almost 6am and I can't sleep and I need to keep myself entertained, 're: the secret project/possible documentary theory.
I do agree that it seems extremely unlikely they'd film a documentary on their private relationship given, well, who they are. They worked extremely hard to keep their private life as distant as possible from their internet life. And yet, 2017 and even 2016 really has already showed cracks in these walls they put up.
I guess what I'm wondering is, given that I 100% believe they are together, in a realistic-not-fangirl way, I do wonder where that leaves us. They're letting us see into their affection more and more, not denying stuff but not confirming. There will be a point though where it will be obvious? I imagine even a couple of years in the Future, a house, a dog..even children? They're both the dad type tbh.
I'm trying to imagine if..no, how they'll give the internet the truth. I don't ever expect a coming out video on YouTube, but I could see being open about it at one point, even slipping it in a casual way during some interactions.

I personally would like Dan to stop whatever he is doing now whether he’s imitating pewdiepie's random phase or experimenting with his new old brand. I think a good idea for him would be to let us know him better as he is now. He has changed his look – tell us why, give us a parody OOTD 2017 edition. He said he had trouble making videos even though he wanted to upload more – elaborate on this. No need to be 100% transparent, make it sarcastic and funny. Talk about youtube conventions and what he likes and doesn’t like about them, and funny stories. Tips on how to be a co-presenter on stage and hold audience's attention, what's the preparation process. Share which political podcasts, reddits, magazines he likes and why. Make a guide on how to survive on tour for 3 months. Advice on how to rent a flat and types of landlords etc.
Also he should scrap all video ideas that are 2 years old even if they seemed genius at the time lol.
Are you a Youtuber Advisor? You should send this directly to Dan somehow. Send it to his management. Send it to martyn. Do something. Dan needs these ideas. They're so genius and perfect for him.

I seriously think about this all the time and sometimes while I'm cooking or otherwise doing a mindless activity I'll imagine the documentary in my head. Dan and Phil each speaking to the camera about the same situation separately. "I was so excited when he started tweeting me back, but it was also terrifying. Now I actually had to hold his interest, not just catch it." "I just thought he was cool so I tweeted him." And then more serious talking about 2012 and actually opening up about everything and what this whole train ride was like, but from their perspective and with their emotions. And it would end on a very positive, be-yourself-to-be-happy note. I would KILL for this I tell you.

Lilly Singh I think follows the arc you lay out in your comment; older videos from 2011 (that are still up anyway) are mostly talking straight to the camera while her videos starting in late 2011/early 2012 through to the present are pretty consistently character/skit based Types of X or How Not To Y. She's really really good at it.
I'm glad you posted this because I was reading that thinking like "I swear his style was not that original, it was popular at the time" but I didn't have any sources but my memory so I was like "ehhh maybe im wrong." I also feel like on youtube, being emo-looking guys into brightly colored things and anime was unironically in, kind of a post-scene trend. Destrey (CapnDesDes) and Nate come to mind as prime examples, but shane, anthony, joey graceffa, and more at least had the emo hair in 2010-2013ish. Hard to imagine now since it's so out of style. I think it mostly catered to a young demographic that missed the boat on the emo/scene myspace era in its prime, but wanted in. Being properly emo was going out of style, but the hair was still in and elements of the fashion (like black skinny jeans with brightly colored tees.) A softer version of the emo movement I would call it, especially notable in my opinion is that dark, depressing things were out. The emo look was less associated with self-harm and depression, and more associated with social awkwardness, anime, and art.
Anyway, I think Dan and Phil really nailed what that demographic was looking for/liked and it helped with their popularity. But maybe I just say this because I was kinda in that demographic myself and am very bias. What do you guys think?

I do agree that it seems extremely unlikely they'd film a documentary on their private relationship given, well, who they are. They worked extremely hard to keep their private life as distant as possible from their internet life. And yet, 2017 and even 2016 really has already showed cracks in these walls they put up.

Because you are right as much as I agree that they have every right to their privacy and that I doubt they'd make an honest to god documentary about their relationship considering their past stance on such things. It does make me wonder if they do have any plans in place.
Like you said if they are 100% together there will become a point where this is undeniable fact. Forever home, dogs, marriage, kids etc. And when that happens I don't think the fans are going to be the main issue at first. It'll be the media.
They might not be Beyonce or RDJ levels of fame but they are still famous. And the news outlets will want a story.
So you have to ask yourself, do you tell your own (edited & controlled) version of the story or be prepared for whatever garbled version the press spits back out after trawling through the past posts and fan theories. (I don't even want to imagine what a mess would come from fans over exaggerated versions of 2012).
I wish we did live in a world where people don't have to come out because being in love with someone regardless of gender is normalised but unfortunately at the moment that isn't the case.
Idk i just think it'll reach a point where it's going to have to be addressed even if very casually to their audience. But maybe it's just me being overly cynical of how the media would behave. I just don't trust those vultures.
