I can't understand the logic of the separate apartments theory...why would Phil let Dan display his book collection and their joint DVD box set collections on a shelf in Dan's lounge?!

Not sure I believe it now, though. I wrote this just after the very first liveshow in the new flat, before they showed us photos.

The theory: Dan and Phil moved into separate flats/houses, maybe quite close together. Phil's place has the lounge and Phil's room, Dan's place is decorated in a space-theme and has his bedroom and the "upper lounge".

Proof:
-It would explain the random move, the mysterious layout ("Here's Phil's room. He's going to keep making videos in it like always!" "Dan's room is upstairs. You won't get to see that unless he posts an Instagram photo of himself in it at some point.") and their reluctance to give us an apartment tour.
-All the things we saw in the liveshow seemed to have been Phil's? (I'm not an expert here, if someone could chime in confirming/denying that, that'd be great)
-Phil sounded so surprised to hear Dan's design choices in the chat.
D:"I've completely changed everything." P:"OH? Well. There you go."
"You bought a plant? I didn't know you bought a plant!"


Problems?:
-What about the gaming channel? Well, they only post about twice a week, so they would only have to meet once every one or two weeks, bulk-film and then they could edit separately.
-Why did they do a joint liveshow then? Because they hadn't done a liveshow for ages and aren't going to do a regular show for a while now.
-What about the space they showed where Dan said he's going to film? We didn't see much of it. It could easily be anything else.
-Why wouldn't they just tell us? Because 1) it'd cause lots of drama and 2) they'd lose all their followers who are only there for phan.

Personally all the photos they've shared of the upstairs lounge very much suggest to me that they live together still - the shelves above Dan's piano contain books/DVDs belonging to both of them, the photo Phil tweeted for Dan's bday yesterday showed the BONCA awards, a collection of different games etc. Plus, Dan talked about how they're dumb for renting and that in a future house they'll be able to adopt a dog ("Phil's obsessed with a corgi, so brace for that [...] or maybe it'll be an ugly mongrel we adopt"). That's language that very much suggests they plan on continuing to live together. And just other little things, like Dan mentioning that he got bored when Phil went away for a few days last week - if they lived apart he would have no reason to mention that. I don't really think there's anything to suggest they don't live together?

1. Lol well she posted the pictures so I think if she cared she wouldn't have posted them.

2. Pretty much what everyone else is saying. The evidence is pretty weak. I think the much more likely reason there's no house tour is because Phil's room is a set and they're sharing a room. Also just not wanting to show us.

That's understandable. But I think she knows by now that if she posts pics of Deppy on her social media, she's bound to get a large response from their fans. As it's not a surprise, I would expect that she posts those kinds of pictures only when she's ready for the inevitable response they'll receive.

As far as the separate apt conspiracy, I don't think it amounts to anything. Dan's comment about living alone has been taken out of context and held up as "proof" when what he was actually saying is that he no longer lives with his parents. He was addressing the younger members of his liveshow audience when he said it because they most likely do still live at home with their parents. As far as neither of them being keen on a house tour, I don't fault them for wanting to maintain their privacy especially after they were stalked so much at their last apt. But they've given us snapshots of various rooms and those all point to them sharing the same spaces. I honestly don't see any credible evidence pointing to them living separately.

I think the only conspiracy about their new place that holds any water is the one surrounding Phil's beardroom.

Really agree with the bolded part. I had honestly started to believe in the seperate apartments theory for a little bit, but I hadn't thought about those comments Dan had
made about a future dog in the liveshow. Also the comment about being bored while Phil wasn't home. unless they were really committed to lying (which I don't think they'd be able to live with lying/deceiving us like that) these comments suggest that they're definitely still living
together.

Not wanting a house tour is probably, like others have said, just because they want some semblance of privacy that they didn't have in their last place.

Honestly, they didn't really want to do a tour for the old flat either. Phil kinda set themselves up there by saying there'd be one when they had only just moved but over the months that passed they obviously had no intention of really doing one or had changed their minds. We got it a whole 9 months after they moved and only because the phandom kept pestering them about it so Dan gave it as an option for his 1 million subscriber celebration. I think it was the most popular option by a landslide. And while Dan's sarcastic ~ugh why do y'all want this~ attitude in the video is a joke, at the same time I do think it displays how he didn't really want to do it. Although it's disappointing (I'm a slut for interior design and I wanna see it dammit), them not wanting to do a tour really didn't come as a surprise to me because of that.

Hey at least it'll keep us busy puzzling trying to figure out their flat only using video and picture backgrounds for years to come :') It's a distraction

I don't think anything they've done or said can lead to this conclusion, other than maybe if you stretched Dan's 'living alone' comment reeeally really far, and even then I don't really understand the mental gymnastics you'd have to do to get there.

It makes perfect sense that they don't want to do a house tour, especially since they've seen how easy it was for the fandom to stalk them down in their old place. Their privacy is and has always important to them, so I should really stop over-analyazing their place based on insta backgrounds It's so entertaining, though!

Also I agree with everything Catallena said about their old house tour. I think it also speaks volumes how Dan purposefully didn't do a 'cohesive' tour of the house, only snapshots of what we've already seen, but kind of panned around a bit more. Just going by that video, I would've been hard-pressed to figure out the layout, which is exactly what they wanted.

Lol. I see it now, but am more befuddled by how that ice cube is balancing. Beautiful photograph. I'm looking forward to hearing/seeing what trinkets Phil got Dan during the ls tomorrow. Oh, Phil just gave away one of them... Phil you could have bought matching ones! (Now who is going to analyze all three reflections? He's sitting in a chair like from Dan's ls. There is a box of some sort of collectible on top of a white cabinet? Yeah that's all I've got.)

I find the living separately theory mildly amusing, but nothing more. Great observations on the old apartment tour Catallena and xaephan! It did feel awkward watching it and confusing. This time around Phil seems to be the one most against it. Phil said no during their first ls in the new place. Dan was entertaining the idea during one of his ls, but said he would have to see how Phil felt about it. And then Phil laid down the law in his last one. And I was both disappointed and very very pleased.
