I haven't seen that many liveshows before, but out of all that I have watched, this was probably the best! Phil seemed happy and relaxed, and I didn't find myself spacing out at all like I usually do when watching liveshows. My mood got so much better!

Right? Like okay. When will y'all realize that this only draws more attention to the issue. Lol.
The explanation doesn't even make any sense. How is it fair that Dan gets a big bedroom AND a separate filming nook, especially when Phil allegedly both films and sleeps in the same room?

When his hair is back and he's wearing his glasses I end up having a real problem lol. He's gorgeous and just looks more mature that way and I love it. I want curly Dan and no fringe Phil please.
Even if he doesn't want to get rid of the fringe completely, he could consider cutting it shorter and more even like in late 2014. That was a good look on him in my opinion.
Btw, has Dan always been this edge lord-y? He's acting like a 10-year-old desperately trying to look cool with all these "dank memes", which is getting on my nerves in a weird way.

Right? Like no you don't just sleep in there if that's your actual room. You keep your clothes and some stuff in there. You get dressed in there and you work in there and you sleep in there. While Dan gets a big bedroom and the filming spot like you said. I don't see why that small couch and computer/TV wouldn't fit better in the small room if it meant phil didn't have to cram into that tiny room. Like they're gonna break their necks trying to flop around in there for pinof.

I live with my girlfriend - our flat is TINY (and the furniture doesn't move which is horrendous for someone who likes to move their room around) but we have two bedrooms. One is hers and one is mine. We sleep in mine because it's bigger but they are still very much our own spaces. I have my own bedding, my own trinkets, my clothes etc in my room and she has the same in hers. There are a few overlaps but generally it is the majority MY space. We use her room as storage, as a guest room, and a room to sleep in if one of us is insomniac or sick and doesn't want to disturb the other.
I would NOT be surprised if they had a set up similar to ours. Especially because Phil's 'room' is so tiny? It just doesn't add up. I don't think it's the room he sleeps in. I think it's his space like you said but I am sceptical it is little more than a dressing room for AmazingPhil, rather than a functional room for Phil Lester. I'd be more willing to believe he has a separate bedroom to Dan that isn't the filming room, than I would be to believe this is his actual room.
(for the record, I am about 80% convinced they are sharing Dans room)

I totally agree with this. It totally feels like a set for AmazingPhil. Couples can have different rooms and even sleep in different rooms, but his room just feels wrong like people grow and change and would have a new style and I'd expect his real room to reflect growth not be like a museum piece. It's all just speculation but it feels off to me.
In other news, I'm to Google what an edge lord is because I know nothing.

When I started watching them, which was only, like, 1 year ago, I don't recall Dan being edge lordy at all. Maybe I missed something, but it seems quite recent. I don't really mind it much except when it gets to a kinda problematic point, which is bound to happen if you use jokes from 4chan.
Well, he already went there once with the "REEEE" tweet which he fortunately deleted pretty quickly. I guess everyone has multiple sides, but you would think that Dan, almost 26, had already overgrown 4chan, especially considering the level of social awareness he seems to have. I just hope he starts acting like an adult soon.

Wait, I totally thought he deleted the tweet since I couldn't find it when I went looking for it. :wtf: In any case, that tweet besically summarises why I find his current "edge lordness" disturbing.

lolok what definition of 'adult' are we working with here? What does Dan need to do to 'grow up' to meet some imaginary standard? Adults aren't allowed to do stupid poses for fun? They can only read balanced news websites with no humour or internetisms to be found? Somebody go out and buy the man a sweater-vest and a milk steamer STAT (NOT for coffee, caffeine is for young blood, but rather for a relaxing drink to settle his old bones before turning in at 9:30pm like any respectable grown person).
the edginess isnt anything new, is it? for a while like 2013-2015 the ~edgy~ internet stuff still had a lot of the "haha relationships, more like NUTELLA am i right" type posts but his general sense of humour hasnt changed, just the humour like that thats actually present on the internet
i find it funny idk

Well, maybe "adult" was not the right word to use in this context. I mostly just meant that I don't find his current Twitter humour funny, and that's just a personal preference of mine. God knows I can't afford to shame anyone for doing stupid poses for photos and using internetisms when I do these things all the time myself. I still wish he'd at least stay clear of 4chan humour, though, because it can very easily be problematic.

“I did buy him one thing that I wanted for myself, which is something that I usually do for most people's birthdays, it’s just inherently part of who I am, I’m sorry. I do try to find something the person will like, but more often than not, it will be something I’ll also want” (chat) What are you doing?
“I don’t know, really. Some kind of birthday japes will happen.”

10:45 “We had to do religious education actually, that was one that they forced upon us. I was quite good at that. I was good at the ones which involved essays and writing where I could be just be a bit like ‘here’s a point, and here’s somebody else’s point’”

“Wow, thanks. Just make me feel old. Life before the internet was an unusual time.”
“It was weird, it was hard, you couldn’t iMessage people. I remember life before you could text people” etc.
25:25 (chat) Your room is small
“Oh, my bedroom. My bedroom [isn’t] small, it’s a good size bedroom. It’s just smaller than the giant bedroom I had in the last place. And that’s because- we had a chat- and I sacrificed my space for the gaming channel. ‘Cause the gaming channel room was gonna be my room, and then I was like, ‘I don’t actually spend that much time in my room unless I’m sleeping’ so.. I spend more of my time in the lounge just hanging out. So I thought, well, it would be better for the gaming channel to have a bigger room. So the gaming channel room was gonna be my bedroom, but now it’s the gaming channel room.”

I don’t know why, but it’s occurred to me out of absolutely nowhere that at every possible opportunity I should roll my eyes and laugh derisively at any mention they make of them being friends. Even though they are friends. Whatever other context exists outside of our purview, they’re definitely friends. Kind of like whatever other context exists outside of our purview, that room is his bedroom? So wild, I know. But maybe scoffing louder than the next person about it will get me something. Just to be sure and clear that I’m someone who won’t be fooled, no sir, nothing gets past me. I laugh in the face of other people setting their own narratives for specific parts of their lives that are held up for public consumption, I laugh at it I tell you. Because I know better. Okay, controversial opinion maybe. Phil knows his fans, I'm sure he anticipated something like this would happen. The Phandom has been doing this for years with much more invasive things like voldy and yet we freely talk about that here. I doubt people thinking his bedroom is unusually small is gonna keep him up at night. And I don't see how it's an invasion of privacy. We're just judging based on what we have been shown. I don't see how thinking what he claims is his bedroom isn't bedroom is an invasion. In that case, most discussion of Phan is an invasion. It's mostly based on old deleted tweets, formspring answers from a long time ago, old Dailybooths they must regret, voldy of course, etc. All those things are way more invasive than an opinion.
Basically, the Phandom, even on here, does a ton of invasive things and just thinking that the bedroom is too small for him to sleep in is tame by a long shot and Dan and/or Phil most likely don't really care.

We're not, though. The point is that they aren't going to show us the entire place, that they have said they don't plan on showing us the areas that they have decided are mostly for them, and that they're not being the least bit ambiguous about what they're deciding not to show us.
To me, being curious is fine, discussing it amongst ourselves is fine. They are the puzzle and we're desperately trying to make pieces fit. But that's our issue, not theirs. It's the expectation of them to 'come clean' or the attitude that they're maliciously lying if they don't that bothers me. We're allowed to want to know - but that doesn't mean they have to tell us, or that they're somehow wronging us by not.

Well Dan did tell people how not to vote, subtly, in the tumblr tags, (and there's nothing wrong with that, that's what his social media is for):

Is anyone saying that though? Because the people I saw joking (admittedly including myself) never said anything like that. We just thought his bedroom size was a bit ridiculous. I mean, if anyone was saying that then yeah, call them out. It's just that I don't remember seeing anyone say anything like that.

Is anyone saying that though? Because the people I saw joking (admittedly including myself) never said anything like that. We just thought his bedroom size was a bit ridiculous. I mean, if anyone was saying that then yeah, call them out. It's just that I don't remember seeing anyone say anything like that.
Widely speaking across phandom, yes, definitely, people react very strongly to feeling like Dan and Phil are not being fully and completely honest. There's a reason people keep spamming them for bedroom tours and asking Phil about his bedroom, and why people treat it like a personal victory when Dan or Phil are caught out lying about something.

Sure hope it’s a good one lmao
Okay, controversial opinion maybe. Phil knows his fans, I'm sure he anticipated something like this would happen. The Phandom has been doing this for years with much more invasive things like voldy and yet we freely talk about that here. No one on here was saying that though and I feel like complaining about it is just preaching to the choir.
I just took as trying to call me and others out on something we haven't done.
I missed the liveshow but got online before he had uploaded it to LessAP, and since I don't really care about ls spoilers I went ahead and read what people were saying on here before I watched it. And I'll admit that I was... confused, when I finally did watch it. Maybe I just misunderstood what people were saying, but I got the impression that he had been flustered or otherwise struggling to explain away the "issue" of his bedroom size. But then when I watched that part of the liveshow, by the end of his explanation I was just left with the thought, "Yeah, that makes sense."
I mean, there's certainly plenty that can be speculated about as well, but regarding just his liveshow explanation, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary or secretive.

I mean what's the joke though? The 'lie', right? Can they win? And by taking what route? If Phil had just done what everyone seems to think was the better option: get a new set that is not a/his bedroom, what would be different? They wouldn't be scoffing at his tiny 'beardroom', unwilling to buy what he's selling, they'd be scoffing at him claiming to have a separate room from Dan that we would never see. More lies. Probably. Like how unbelievable that he would have a separate bedroom, 'why won't he show it to us, then'? So to keep that nagging as minimal as possible, he just stuck with the same set, because if it ain't broke, don't fix it. He has a bedroom, Dan has a bedroom, kind of sounds like the last 7 years to me. Like if he did just say in a video 'oh and I don't really sleep in here anyway, it's just my familiar set for videos that makes me happy and comfortable', would anybody be satisfied? What would be enough? What are the options? What will it ever take. (I don't actually want the answer to that). It's slightly moreso the attitude of 'who are they kidding, we know everything' that rubs me the wrong way, like as much as I'm sure (most..) people are just joking, it comes off slightly malicious.
Actually I'm going to plagiarise myself from another conversation:
To me it comes off like some uncomfortable compulsion to make sure they get taken down a peg at every turn because just who exactly are they kidding with wanting to keep a consistent channel set and overall public backdrop (physical and not) for viewers and themselves. It’s a comfort thing for Phil. Looking for any hole to punch through his comfort zone (a bed with blue and green sheets to sit on while filming) is needlessly [icky] to me.
And if that doesn't make any sense, I can't explain it any better than that.
