On the new Daniel video: I'm happy we got another video in May. It was very light-hearted and moderately funny, appreciate him making video on vacation with limited resources. Not sure which of details he offered us to believe, still got some questions. Bit disappointed that the overhyped rebrand didn't affect his content yet, maybe one day.

All those wonderful YouTubers decide to share their life with us, and some just can't get enough and need more. For few, that takes the extreme lengths of stalking and sending mail (just ... think about it. Getting mail and parcels from people you don't know. How creepy is that?!). But - aren't we guilty too? Discussing the beardroom, saving the voldy file locally - as Dan tweeted yesterday, maybe we all need to learn that it's ok not to know everything, and not to want to own every single part of their lifes. Of course, there are miles between looking into a reflective 8-ball and actually stalking, but, you know, it's always just one step to the next level. When discussing bedrooms is ok, what becomes ok then? When waiting outside the radio station is ok, when is it ok to wait outside a hotel? And then outside their home?

About the bolded part, I think the answer is yes. Honestly, I tend to feel guilty for being on this forum, discussing Dan and Phil. I am a huge fan of privacy, enough to feel uncomfortable just thinking about the possibility of accidentally bumping into Deppy (which is very unlikely). I know it's hypocritical that I talk about them deserving privacy all the time and then discuss their private lives on a forum.

I think being on this forum is kind of a grey area. There are things that are obviously wrong and/or illegal: sharing private information, stalking them, etc. Then there are things that are definitely fine: discussing their videos, speculating about new content, etc. But it's difficult where to draw the line. If it's fine to discuss their videos, does that include it's okay to discuss whether Phil sleeps in the room he films in because he showed said room in a video or is it wrong because he chose to tell us it is his room and that means we should accept that without questioning it? Because they have never explicitly stated they are not fine with this stuff and there are no a specific rules, it is technically okay and I think everyone has to choose whether or not they are fine with joining those discussions.

1. Nothing has been a surprise for me since I started reading IDB. Y'all are too good.
2. Wow, Daniel, way to throw Phil under the bus! I can't believe he told the border guard that Phil got through even though he shouldn't have. Hahahaha. Was he hoping they could both get locked in a room waiting for hours?
(Personal story: when I was a kid, my family arrived in England from Canada, and my parents failed to get us the proper visa. So we arrived without the proper visa and they locked us in a grey room for HOURS in Heathrow while they sorted out the visa. I think Dan was lucky...entering with the wrong visa can be really bad).

I think his point was that the "rebrand" isn't about a drastic shift in content, it's about his name and putting some very old stuff behind him. I hope that we slowly see a softer Dan on his main channel, like we've seen in liveshows, their collabs and on Instagram.

I thought that was his wrist too. His freckles are cute. Freckles are just cute in general. (Thought he was wearing eyeliner, thought I saw a little flick at the end of his eye but think it's just a crease. )

One other thing I've been meaning to bring up: does it bother anyone else that Phil lists Dan's channel on AmazingPhil channel tab but Dan doesn't list AmazingPhil on his channel tab? I feel like it's kind of rude of Dan bc he has more subs. Also seems rude after Phil shared his creator of the year BONCA with Dan. It seems like Dan is too ashamed of the AmazingPhil content. Oh wow, I just remembered in one of Dan's vids he tells of being criticized as a "terrible boyfriend" for not commenting on his his gf's new MySpace pic, when he had actually been round her house and told her he liked it in person. Guess that's me told! Thanks memory! So moral of this stream of consciousness is, I shouldn't judge Dan bc he's the best bf ever to Phil, but that's private between him and Phil and however he responded to voldy if it was real was better than a video response.

From what I've seen Dan's liked Phil's photos or tweets more than Phil's liked Dan. Even though it was a photo which Dan took. It seemed like his way to show he supported him or something. Both Dan and Phil has different ways to display it.

Re: Stalking

That actually made me feel disgusted. I can't begin to imagine how terrified and freaked out I'd be if a 12 year old found my address and started leaving me messages. I can only hope it was simply for attention, because damn is that disturbing - hope their new place has better security.

Also I think talking about bedrooms is quite different to actually physically going to someones HOUSE and leaving messages and gifts, that would make me feel so vulnerable - if a 12 year old can find you, imagine who else can.

I was under the impression that Dan and Phil had both planned to stay for the amount of time they did stay for, which is why they prepared all the vids (I mean, it could have just been bc Phil was staying so they needed to stock up, but I'm more inclined to believe the former).

Upon another re-watch of it, is it just me that likes to think of the behind the scenes to stuff like this? Specifically, in this instance, how Dan and Phil were most likely texting for a majority of the trip, and how when Dan thought he would have to find a hotel with only $20 he was probably texting Phil about how he couldn't go to Universal and re-arranging plans, along with a probably frustrated text about him having to leg it across the airport when the re-boarding was announced.

(this may explain why one of my fave pages in tatinof is the texting page lmao)

It's the grey chair/sofa (Dan only mentioned chairs in that lounge during his ls which I find curious) and it has a yellow pillow (blockwork with black and cream?) I'm enjoying the boundaries discussion, though clearly my boundaries include discussing furniture and bedrooms. Sorry. I wish I could say it was just my interest in interior design (which is a strong component, but no.) I have nothing to add to the stalking thing though *shudders*

on stalking: yikes. but on the other hand, people have run the girl off twitter by harassing her, and are now celebrating. which i can't be okay with, regardless of her (invasive, creepy af, immature) actions. i don't actually blame her tho, she's quite young and young kids have a hard time with making appropriate decisions. her parents should have had a talk about what is and isn't respectful, instead of helping her stalk people. and now people on twitter are celebrating that they scared a young kid off. it's not okay.
