I don't see why Dan would take a picture of the room he films in 3 weeks ago, maybe he filmed the video a couple of days ago and was already back home this morning and was able to add in the picture. It's also possible that he took the picture before, but it just seems a bit random. But then again there is Phil's snake video on twitter. idk

This made me genuinely blush from second-hand embarrassment. Jesus christ. The way she seems so fucking proud, and she says she "cringes" at what she did like it's some myspace account you remember you had 10 years ago. What the hell. edit: fucking imagine being deppy, getting mail from some anonymous person out of nowhere. That's some serial killer shit right there. I can't imagine how paranoid they must've felt.

I thought having taken that pic before he left was weird too, but I agree he could have added it in when he got back. I think he is in London now? But did he and Phil return together?Afunnyworld wrote:I don't see why Dan would take a picture of the room he films in 3 weeks ago, maybe he filmed the video a couple of days ago and was already back home this morning and was able to add in the picture. One thought I had that no one else has mentioned yet about Daniel's video is where was everybody when he was filming? Was Phil helping with the camera or did he have a tripod or makeshift tripod? I feel it really speaks to his comfort level with the Lesters if they were there but just not in the rooms he was filming in, bc he has spoken about how embarrassing it was for him to film at Uni, and when the gas men were at their apt during one ls, he got really embarrassed and said he didn't want to talk bc they could probably hear him. I feel bad if Dan missed out on some fun Lester family outing bc he was filming.
One other thing I've been meaning to bring up: does it bother anyone else that Phil lists Dan's channel on AmazingPhil channel tab but Dan doesn't list AmazingPhil on his channel tab? I feel like it's kind of rude of Dan bc he has more subs. Also seems rude after Phil shared his creator of the year BONCA with Dan. It seems like Dan is too ashamed of the AmazingPhil content. Oh wow, I just remembered in one of Dan's vids he tells of being criticized as a "terrible boyfriend" for not commenting on his his gf's new MySpace pic, when he had actually been round her house and told her he liked it in person. Guess that's me told! Thanks memory! So moral of this stream of consciousness is, I shouldn't judge Dan bc he's the best bf ever to Phil, but that's private between him and Phil and however he responded to voldy if it was real was better than a video response.

I've seen people on Tumblr saying that it's possible Phil helped Dan film because at some parts, the camera was shaky, which wouldn't have happened if the camera was just on a tripod or even a makeshift one. I personally didn't notice it (because I'm very obtuse about stuff like that), but I thought I'd share what I saw on Tumblr.Susanisnotafish wrote: One thought I had that no one else has mentioned yet about Daniel's video is where was everybody when he was filming? P: What are you doing?
D: I'm feeding it to you.
P: Why is it so slow?
Looks to me like the sofa scenes were on the tripod (on a good camera) and the sketchy bits were handheld on a phone...and I'd assume it was Phil holding the phone. I reckon the rest of the family had gone out for a few hours or perhaps were just out the back in the pool!RiriPandaHeart2 wrote:I've seen people on Tumblr saying that it's possible Phil helped Dan film because at some parts, the camera was shaky, which wouldn't have happened if the camera was just on a tripod or even a makeshift one. I was impressed they might have taken a big camera with them, taking a whole tripod seems cumbersome.

Poor guys. Heck, I miss just seeing the video backgrounds of that flat, who knows how they've felt.

I thought that too, but maybe Dan just disagrees with the whole Subscribe-to-these-people/My-best-friends-tab idea? He doesn't recommend anyone (not even his side channel).Susanisnotafish wrote: One other thing I've been meaning to bring up: does it bother anyone else that Phil lists Dan's channel on AmazingPhil channel tab but Dan doesn't list AmazingPhil on his channel tab? So, LS today? I'd really like a joint show with a couple of fun holiday stories, but since Dan said that he'll talk about yesterday's video on Tuesday, guess it's either only Phil or no LS at all

That stalker situation. I can't believe they didn't move out as soon as their address was leaked.
well, but stuff like that unfortunately happens to a lot of famous people so they'd have to move around constantly.onetruetrash wrote:That stalker situation. I can't believe they didn't move out as soon as their address was leaked.

The sketchy bits are definitely hand held. I didn't notice it on my first two watches (the husband really enjoyed this and 'I Nearly Blinded Myself' last night. He hasn't watched many of their individual stories. Funny that he only wants to watch them when they're together), as it's not really "shakey", just a gentle undulating from (Phil's) natural body swaying. Dan has said in at least one liveshow that they both get each other to film their skits and he mimicked their whining and grumbling. But honestly it's just convenient living (and vacationing) with another YouTuber (and their family).
What I really rewatched it for this morning is to see the painting of the pair of male lions nuzzling on the wall of the Lester family vaction home's dining room, which can be seen very clearly at 3:45 (thanks to an anon and nihilist-toothpaste's Tumblr) I was literally just watching two joint liveshows yesterday where gay lions where mentioned by Phil. So this got me a bit teary.
So I accept that Phil's TSA guy was chill and just marked the date Phil said he would be staying until. But I'm still a bit confused by the May 10th or 18th date on Dan's passport. I don't think he went home a whole week ago, so it seems like he was "peer pressured" to stay even longer and after all that hassle with the Bahamas he just said f*** it and decided to risk it. Or am I missing something?

I suspect we'll get another gaming video tonight, rather than a live show but I hope I'm proved wrong!
Re. stalker - I have such a low opinion of this girl and her father...but especially the father. There's no way I would ever enable my children to stalk their celebrity crushes' private addresses and send them boxes of stuff in the post :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: Long may D&P's new address be undiscovered.

Something about this reeks of young person trying to get attention. I don't recognize anything in the pictures (nor should I, I highly doubt that they've shown images of the outside of their place before) and the one piece that may be recognizable (Dan's room) was censored "for their privacy". It wouldn't shock me at all if this person was able to do this and did. But something in my gut tells me they're lying. Unless anyone has the original unedited messages (which I wouldn't want spread around anyway since I assume, if it is real, the censoring is justified) then I'm not convinced this particular person did it.Susannah wrote:re: the apartment stalker ... i am speechless

RE: Stalker
After feeling uncomfortable all morning after reading that photo post, I think I can write down some thoughts. Unfortunately, as mentioned, stalking is a much larger issue than we think. I remember Jacksepticeye talking about it in a video, how a family (!) came to his address and he couldn't believe that the parents had actually driven their kids there to see him. Also, Pewdiepie has actually made a video called Don't come to my house. I personally don't watch Zoe (Zoella?) but I heard that she had issues too. And if you guys say that D&P's address was fairly accessable - just think about how frequent that issue must have been for them. It's actually sickening. It literally makes me feel terrible thinking about it.
All those wonderful YouTubers decide to share their life with us, and some just can't get enough and need more. For few, that takes the extreme lengths of stalking and sending mail (just ... think about it. Getting mail and parcels from people you don't know. How creepy is that?!). But - aren't we guilty too? Discussing the beardroom, saving the voldy file locally - as Dan tweeted yesterday, maybe we all need to learn that it's ok not to know everything, and not to want to own every single part of their lifes. Of course, there are miles between looking into a reflective 8-ball and actually stalking, but, you know, it's always just one step to the next level. When discussing bedrooms is ok, what becomes ok then? When waiting outside the radio station is ok, when is it ok to wait outside a hotel? And then outside their home?
And one last thought: Maybe there won't be a forever home until their career is over. When the phandom and its communication channels have died, and an address can no longer be spread as it can be spread today, then they might settle down somewhere and know they are safe.
Disclaimer: I know I am being a hypocrit. But I hope I got some sort of point across.

You make a good point. Why censor it? We've all seen his bedroom before and just showing us the window wouldn't reveal anything. Thinking about it more, it's most likely fake.Ashling Rae wrote:Something about this reeks of young person trying to get attention. I definitely get and appreciate your point. I do think it's a pretty big step between bedroom discussion, and showing up at their house. Or even between hotels and their house. We have rules on this forum meant to do our part in making sure people respect their privacy - not sharing their address or the area of London they live in, not naming hotels until they've left, etc. But given that they are entertainers who invite us into their home it's a weird, often-moving line as to what we're supposed to want to know and what we aren't. I can't entirely blame fans for being passively curious when sometimes their intention is to make us curious, because they're trying to build hype for something.LtrllySusan wrote:Of course, there are miles between looking into a reflective 8-ball and actually stalking, but, you know, it's always just one step to the next level. Like Dan's Bahamas video - even though he tweeted the thing about us not needing to know everything, he posted those pictures almost certainly with the idea of making us eager to find out why and therefore building up to a video. It's also crossed my mind that maybe they will do a house tour and the whole "should we, idk, maybe" is just to make us really want it so if they post it, it'll be guaranteed to go over well. If we, across the board, stopped being curious about their lives then a lot of the things they plant along the way would fall flat.
Dan and Phil's whole career is built on us feeling like we have access to their lives. I think most people here, and most people in general, realize that the accessibility is a facade, that Dan and Phil are actual people living actual lives, and have enough empathy to understand that our own curiosity shouldn't translate into disrupting Dan and Phil's life. But I can, in a way, understand how a twelve year old might not grasp that concept. The bigger issue to me is how a twelve year old was allowed to stalk them like that, but other people have covered that point already.
Not really sure what my purpose in saying all of this is. Mostly I'm just not sure there's a clear cut answer to how to get people to stop invading Dan and Phil's privacy, but I don't think not analyzing or expressing curiosity is really it.

I think you hit the nail of the head with Dan's intention with that tweet. I don't think it was directed at the twitter user, so much as a side-eye to all of us. And here's the thing, the jokes, the theories, I don't think he minds. He plays into them, even admitting he purposefully dragged us all in with the Bahamas tweet. The part where it gets disturbing is where we cross the line between playing with ideas they've already given us, and searching for more information they haven't shared as if we are entitled to it. Even apart from D&P, we all as humans have that lesson to learn, that we don't have to know everything about everything.LtrllySusan wrote: All those wonderful YouTubers decide to share their life with us, and some just can't get enough and need more. That macro of his eye is killing me over here.
