Getting-to-know-you-game: JOIN OR DIE

-I'm obsess with a Wii U game name Splatoon... i have played it for 454 hours since it released on May 29 last year
-I enter to the fanfiction world with Harry Potter, 2 months later I discover Drarry, 3 years later I discover yaoi.
-I have read a lot of books, but this past 4 years all I read is fanfics. 100k to more words fanfic, and mainly in the HP universe.
-I was playing a video game (ace attorney), this 2 characters were very gay... i started shipping them, I join tumblr cause I need material, 1 of the blog also post gif sets of D&P after 2 months I decided to search them on google and here I am.
-I'm not very social, but is because I haven't found friends that have the same interest. I don't like to go to a club to be then alone while everybody is talking and see everybody wasted.
-I hate cheese, but I don't have a problem with pizza or with melted cheese.
-I'm not asexual but I'm not very sexual idk i just can be bother when my friends talk about "how sexy that guy is"
-Being from a country on latin america where we are all mixes i don't have a clue when you talk about races. Wtf is my race? Idk and I don't care.

god, this has very quickly become my favourite thread. i just thought it was going to be a bit of a laugh, but i've so enjoyed reading through it so far. what a lovely diverse bunch.

i want to respond to every single person individually, but in lieu of that what I am going to say is going to seem like it's the only thing i care about (it's not! i also see a few people who have studied/work in fields i have, interesting...) :

My next goal is to see a post by someone who swore they would never post on GG and only lurked - not that we would know, would have to take your word for it - or even better, someone who hated it and was suspicious and has come over here from tumblr or somewhere. i know there must be at least one of you!

I hide because I lurk so much more than I contribute. Though I swear I have opinions, I just need to collect and organize them properly. I can admit that both Dan and Phil are pretty in different ways, although not attracted to them at all.

- No one ever guesses my ethnicity correctly in person (I mean by appearance and if anyone ever does get it right then i'll probably faint as i've had 23 years of many incorrect guesses) I don't ask them to guess by the way, people just tend to say "Are you.. *random ethnicity*" and it really irks me.

Literally my entire life. What's funny to me is that I tend to get pegged as different races/ethnicities/nationalities in the three countries I've spent significant time in.

USA: Mainly Mexican (or blanket Latina)
UK: Spanish (ALWAYS SPANISH)
Canada: Damn near always Italian

All of which I am not. Yay being "bi-racial" & confusing as fuck to humans!

Anyone want to hear a "race is a cultural construct" speech? Yeah, I thought not. I'll keep my inner anthropologist tucked away (for now).

I put off watching the avengers for a long time because I was reading some wiki spoilers and find out the antagonist is Loki and I don't like that. I'm such an idiot. Last year, when Age of Ultron is out, I was very sceptical but very curious, so I bought The Avengers movie and bam I fell down into the hole that is MCU and do a movie marathon of all the movies (and marvel agent of shield)

I started playing Miles' version first because of the whole "ooo detective game, why I never saw this before, swoon" (nobody really say swoon in real life, is it), then I found phoenix version is a bit boring without the element inspect the crime scene. Lol.

Here are some random/strange things about me:
- I read a lot of fanfiction, it all started with Harry Potter many years ago and just never stopped.
- I even wrote some back in the day. Now I just focus more on trying to write my own book, so no more time for fanfiction.
- I still read a lot of other things as well, including quite a few male/male romance ones.
- I too made Dan and Phil in the Sims (although they didn’t really look like them)
- I’m Dutch, but get asked a lot where I am from, or where my parents are from. Some don’t seem to believe me when I tell them just Dutch. Probably because I have dark hair.
- For the longest time I thought that Cherry and Strawberry were one thing, and didn’t believe people telling me otherwise. So I always called it cherrystrawberry.

Kind of the opposite here, lived in Holland for 18 years growing up and some wouldn't believe that I wasn't Dutch! I've moved around a bunch so I've lost all concept of nationality now

- Everybody always thinks I'm an innocent muffin, and is shocked if they find out how early I started getting drunk/smoke... nevermind that none of them should ever know about my browsing history, or my history with other.. clubs.
- I almost applied to the great british bake off last year, and my friends keep telling me to do so.
- The first proper fandom I was in made me ship twincest.
- I could live off mango.
- I already have a plan for my proposal to my gf next year (and jokingly picked out a wedding date)

-Up until a year ago I only watched Youtube for music/tutorials/funny videos and had no idea Youtubers were such a big thing. I discovered D+P through in a weird and convoluted way (that somehow involves Bethany Mota), they are the only ytubers I watch and obsess over. Nobody irl knows about them (mainly because I'm Italian and old).
-I stalked the gg forum since april of last year but was too lazy to ever contribute, also I'm a bit like Dan, I stress unnecessarily over a stupid post.
-I had very bad anxiety for 5+years and found unhealthy way of coping, then decided to do something about it and started going to therapy and taking medication.
-I'm a massive reader, 200 and plus book a years, but I also enjoy reading forums and manga (mainly shoujo and yaoi---Saezuru is my drug, so good!). I've tried reading fanfiction about D&P but it's not for me, it got weird very fast.

Finally caved;

- I too was lured by HP fanfic ( Hermione and Draco) because I saw a video on yt
- to remain in HP topic: totally hated the ending of the series (too boring and obvious IMO) and because of that I think I'm one of the few fans that refused to see the last movie.
-I'm a mix of naive and suspicious: saw the link for this forum but at the begging didn't check because I thought it was some dodgy website.
