Hmmm, I don't know how to feel about this... He must be getting paid to tweet that to his 4 mil+ followers and to make it seem like a ''cute fun thing he's doing for lols'' without saying that he's getting paid feels a bit iffy to me. I mean at least he's promoting a fun little game and not a product per se but it just irks me when celebrities aren't transparent with these things. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that sponsored tweets are evil and I'm glad he's getting money but it's just...I feel like I'm being played in a way?

Oh well, who cares at the end of the day. Hopefully google paid him the big bucks. And if for some unfathomable reason he DIDN'T get paid? Well then, what are you doing mr.howell? Don't do free work for google

Google... doesn't really need to promote its halloween doodle. Or its main product, the search engine,really. At least not in this way. I am not saying it's impossible but I would be very, very, VERY surprised if the tweet is paid for by Alphabet Inc. and / or affiliated structures.

I can't imagine google sponsored him for this. It seems much more likely to me that he wanted to brag about a high score and included the link because he knew if he posted about playing the game everyone's first question would be where they could play it too.

I really don't think Google would pay him to encourage people to play a free little game on Google's homepage. Google really doesn't need advertising for their flagship product: Google.com search engine. Pretty much everyone is gonna visit that page today anyway as part of their daily lives. And the game is free, so, I really don't see the benefit of paying someone to mention it. I was always under the impression that Google spent money on changing its homepage for holidays for fun and to make themselves look good, not to somehow earn a profit. I just don't see how they would profit from a little game like that at all...

Also I'm not surprised that Dan liked the game, that's pretty in character for him, is it not? Doesn't seem odd to me.

Eh, I'm just a cynic and don't believe that anything is done for free. If a person in this day and age tweets something specific to his millions of followers my first thought is that he's most likely getting paid. But several of you seem to think that I'm wrong on this and that's fine.

Add me to the list of people who can't imagine why google would be willing to pay Dan for that tweet but the notion did get me thinking about something, could anyone with more knowledge than me (not difficult) fill me in on the UK rules on paid advertisement tweets? Are there any?

Just thinking about it and to me it stands to reason that to the people who make these rules it should be deemed just as shady to be selling stuff to your impressionable following on twitter as it is to do so in a youtube video?
Or is that an area they haven't cracked down on yet and they can be paid to advertise and not disclose it?

And although they both tend to make short videos, Phil's the one with the tradition of occasional longer videos like DITL and baking videos on his channel. Which is good for him because ultimately it's viewtime that counts when it comes to earning that sweet sweet cash.

I enjoyed this liveshow a lot, even though it was just as uneventful as normal. I guess it depends on my mood that day when it comes to how much I'll enjoy a ls. Anyway:

The beginning was really skippy and it was super annoying but it smoothed out thank god!

- ice cream cake isn't a thing outside of the US? Not surprised, but news to me. It's gross anyway. It reminds me of that cheap "pizza" you buy in bulk that's just bread and tomato sauce. Do you non-USers have those too?
- "no tour bus this time" I could almost hear him say GUYS at the end in an accusatory voice (he didn't. but he meant it. he meant calm yo tits.)
- The DAPGO title on the spine of the book and second page of the book is better than it is on the cover of the book. that cover, why why why!
- nice to get a DAPGO sneak peek tho!
- Funny that TABINOF was such a big deal and now for DAPGO Phil doesn't even know what the website is

- "People are generally stupid" SAVAGE. Although this provides some insight into how Phil feels about government, hear me out: this reminds me of the gun control argument. People argue that citizens have the right to bear arms under the assumption that everyone will understand the responsibility. Faith in humanity, I guess. Or the idea that people don't need to be protected from themselves. This issue is also brought up when it comes to the legality of things like cigarettes and drugs. Why ban people from choosing to do something dangerous, is it the government's right to decide? Phil seems to think yes, the government should protect people from themselves, because they are inherently irresponsible and can't make the right choices. Hmm.
- "Me and Dan have been watching it over lunch" no meal in the dan and phil household is complete without anime!
- "Party in the back and serious on the front" I'm not a huge fan of the glasses and neither is Phil, but he still has the originals so we are a-okay. They remind me of Louboutins, I wonder if Dan had any influence in buying these bougie glasses? Also, like he needs a pop of color on his glasses to show personality....he shows it though his unique shirt choices!
- "Senpai" in a high voice. The combining continues.
- 'What does the sad dimple look like?" Why you always lyin'?
- That pumpkin is way better than expected, it looks pretty good!

Did Phil mention yuri on ice at all in this liveshow? He said him and Dan were watching another anime so I wonder if they've stopped watching YOI. I guess we'll find out in Dan's liveshow. He did seem disappointed by how it was going.

The pumpkin drawing game Phil did make me nostalgic but I do truly believe it was a good call on his part to end it lol.

Phil talking about DAPGO reminded me, did I imagine it or did Dan saying there was something special/different about the ebook version? Does anyone else remember this?
I'm not really interested in a physical copy as I give most of the books I read to the charity shop anyway and as much as I love D&P this would not make the cut for my keep shelf so I was thinking of buying the ebook version and I'm trying to remember what Dan said about it because nothing on amazon indicates there is anything special about it.
