I would say that this is the foundation of their comedy, it's a classic routine that has been around since the early days of vaudeville - which is kind of ironic since several of the venues they are playing in the US are former vaudeville houses...greatnessflicker wrote: funnily enough, it's called the straight man act and I'm with you there; it gets real old real fast.
Wow thought it would be more exciting than that... It makes it sound like them being in Vegas was an accident even though we know Dan booked it on purpose.sweetmm wrote:

I still love this video. And highkey shamelessly hoping we get a pre-TATINOF version at some point.spider wrote:LurkingTrash it's from the intro of the last Internet Takeover.
i'd join you in the premature greying there. i hate it so much i think i've subbed and resubbed about 5 times in the last 2 years.manged wrote:Quoting this to boost the request. I don't know, it just seems so forced and awkward and ugh.I'd love to see a compilation of it. (Why am I like this? I just said it's my pet peeve when he does it, and now I want a video showing all the times he's done it. This is messed up)
All of this.mermaid blood wrote:my only two cents to the top/bottom convo these days is that, if they gave me evidence i would gladly imagine them both engaging in anything. the fact of the matter is, they cultivate that fan perception with their own comments and behaviour, which could say a lot about what they actually do like and are capable of, or it could say nothing about that and everything about other identity issues. despite dubious behaviour from both of them in the past, i just give them the benefit of the doubt that it's the former. after nearly 7 years i would expect to see something inconsistent, but they've not deviated from subtle (sometimes not so subtle) implications of how they experience their sexualities.
I never noticed Dan's hand lingering on Phil's back when he pushes him from 3.12ish.spider wrote:LurkingTrash it's from the intro of the last Internet Takeover.

love seeing your posts on here, mermsmermaid blood wrote: Not hanging out with the merch crew much doesn't surprise me. they have a pretty intense schedule even by musician standards, and being introverted awkward types trying to find common bonding with 19-21 year old girls who are also their employees and who come across quite extroverted and hyper on their social media might be their idea of hell. no matter how much they respect and like them. i don't blame them for slinking off into their dressing rooms and bus.

That wasn't his immediate reaction though, Jack and Ashens are already laughing. We don't see him straight away when the question is asked, but when we do he's got his mouth closed tightly (although he's starting to laugh by this point).spider wrote:Phil didn't make the same face in the Crabstickz quiz show. it's the same face! oh god that is actually brilliant. it's like he's sucking on something sour and doesn't want you to know.mez29 wrote:

A bit like when he first looks towards the camera in the radio clip, although the laughing obviously doesn't affect it.
good catch. +1 new obsession.mez29 wrote:That wasn't his immediate reaction though, Jack and Ashens are already laughing. We don't see him straight away when the question is asked, but when we do he's got his mouth closed tightly (although he's starting to laugh by this point).

I think this is the distant relative to the "I'm feeling awkward" Fugu/Kirby face that they both pull, except this one is even more subconscious.spider wrote:good catch. +1 new obsession.mez29 wrote:That wasn't his immediate reaction though, Jack and Ashens are already laughing. I wanna write things for that magazine...get paid to be the trash I am.hiddenwombat wrote:i honestly wonder who writes for things like shout magazine or who would buy it just to see screenshots of things already visible on their timelines???
[offtopic]tried searching in gg for any discussion of this moment in DAPG (grindr hookup joke, DITL of tabitha)? thought it might be an ok time to bring it back up after the last few conversations???[/offtopic]

I'm going to disagree with you on this and say that I think about everyone who goes to my school probs knows what Grindr is. And also everyone who spends time on the internet. From tumblr screenshots to Tyler Oakley and other youtubers talking about it, its in no way a secretive thing.eevee wrote:I wanna write things for that magazine...get paid to be the trash I am.hiddenwombat wrote:i honestly wonder who writes for things like shout magazine or who would buy it just to see screenshots of things already visible on their timelines???

Grindr hookup...I feel like not too many people outside the LGBT+ community know what grindr is to be honest, my straight girlfriends don't know what it is. Hmmm
Oh weird. Maybe my friends are all totally uncultured then hahaha.spaceguitar wrote:I'm going to disagree with you on this and say that I think about everyone who goes to my school probs knows what Grindr is. The way that Dan says that in the vid is actually kinda funny. What he means by that is 'gay hook up', but he says 'Grindr'. Idk, it def struck me when I first watched the video. He finds something comedic about it.

You may be joking but in an AU where IDB's bantz and more serious discussions were to be published I'd buy that stuff in a flash! It'd certainly be more entertaining than this garbage.IckleMissMayhem wrote:Top flight jurnalizm that...![]()
We could write a better magazine than that and make millions from it - apparently all you need to do is trawl social media!
*raises hand* straight person here and I defnitely have heard of grindr, so +1 for spaceguitar here. I think you might be underestimating the amount of useless trivia knowledge an average internet user acquires, regardless of that person being LGBT+ or not.eevee wrote:Grindr hookup...I feel like not too many people outside the LGBT+ community know what grindr is to be honest, my straight girlfriends don't know what it is.
