I would also like to note that he is definitely not a zillenial - he's at least 2 years too old for the oldest of the zillenials. I feel like this is important for me to note as someone the same age as Phil who doesn't like the idea Dan is not my peer in generation.

Agreed. I'm two months younger than Dan, and I fully embrace that I'm a millennial. I'm also in the group that has refused to download TikTok... I don't need an app to forcefeed me videos according to the algorithm, I'll just scroll my Tumblr dash for 45 seconds, close the app, and open it right back up again, and that's the way I like it. Am I out of touch with the most recent memes? Definitely. But I think anything worth seeing on TikTok will escape containment and I'll see it somewhere else. TikTok is my line in the sand.

Wow. Only now I just caught on how he self declared himself a zillennial and ...sorry Dan but you're too old to be a zillennial. It's actually the narrow '95-'98 age bracket of kids who grew up on a millennial internet but have witnessed it being burned to the ground.

Also garbage kpop news site Koreaboo has an article on people being surprised that Dan is a kpop stan because that's news apparently.
Many of the people seem to be ex-Phannies which baffles me because Dan has been talking about kpop for at least 10 years and there were kpop songs on the tour playlists. And also my entire theme on this forum is one of the girls he said he'd eat on a YouTubers React episode.

I don't think he called himself a zillennial, did he? he just said someone else called him one and he didn't like it lol. anyway, either way it is incorrect, yeah. he needs to be at least 5 years younger for that.

Something small I noticed (idk I thought interesting).

After Dan's kpop comments in that video, I see j-hope stans on my tl flattered by Dan's praise because they consider him quite a reputable and influential figure. I realize that I personally overlook Dan's impact and influence at times because I am overfamiliar with him. I unintentionally diminish his success as only just "the funny video guy". Seeing outsiders point out how he's a radio DJ, author, comedian, etc. I can really get a clear vision on the kind of whole person he has become. The koreaboo article is just clickbait, but I see genuine people impressed by Dan, so I feel a little strangely proud that I've known him, his work and his content for some years now. Also, I discovered various artists and music thanks to Dan - j-hope and Taemin included, ironically! So, it's funny seeing a fresh wave of kpop fans shocked by Dan's musical interests when he's been liking kpop 10+ years. He's no poser, that's for sure.
