The quote retweets are a mixture of depressing ageism and actually funny roasts.

I just take that tweet to mean that Dan is watching too much YouTube/Twitch
As for the video rewatch question, I think I'd choose the final Dan vs. Phil. As I've probably said in posts before, I am quite interested in how DnP represent to me (or I project onto them) the idea of proactive change, and that video has just this electrifying energy to me of choosing to end something and to be playful and excited about it.
Also, I find myself sad that VidCon was canceled -- I've never been and wasn't planning on going, but still I think it's sad that one of the events where the community aspects of fandom (which is the most enjoyable for me) is celebrated and engendered has yet again been pushed out.

What madzilla said is true, but I thought it would be worth pulling out what Dan actually said in the introduction portion of the podcast as well:The line about not calling is both very Dan and a call back to a joke made in the introduction of one of the hosts, but I think it is important to note that Dan continues to express openness to different pronouns. (Which, as mentioned in BIG, the indifference that Dan carries at the moment is in some ways a privilege)Dan wrote: Hi, I'm Dan and I can go as a he/him or whatever you want to call me, as long as you don't call me because I have severe social anxiety and I don't like people.
Within the first few minutes, Dan also (jokingly ofc) pushed back a bit at one of the presenters calling him 'Dan the man' and I think it's really interesting to observe and leave some space for Dan as he has and continues to work over his relationship with gender, expression and language.
I also remember this. The reason I asked is that the program/podcast team MUST have asked him his pronouns, so while filling up a form/discussing his participation etc, he have chosen to write down 'he/him'. It is as if he was choosing to identify as fully man 'officially' while allowing a blurriness in more informal setting (the chat within the podcast).
As for the video I would like to re-watch again as if it was the first time (such a cute idea!), I'd say... something but I don't remember which one. I just know that, as someone mentioned before me, I also screamed during one of their video
That tweet instead...

I have a controversial answer for the nostalgic/which thing would you rewatch for the first time question... because I honestly think maybe voldy? Because when I saw it I didn't have that much attachment to Dan and Phil and it was the eye opening 'oh, fuck, this is not just Joe and Caspar 2.0' moment for me.
Caring about them, I obviously have a more layered emotional response of feeling for them, feeling awful that the video got leaked, hating what they went through. But the first time I saw it it was just something a friend who I knew liked Dan and Phil sent me a link to and... well, I didn't know what I didn't know.
If you mean content they MEANT to publish, I think I would say any of the day/week in the life videos.

That’s really interesting, I didn’t even think of that one. I saw it pretty early on as well after getting a vibe and googling to see if they were a couple.alittledizzy wrote: Mon Aug 23, 2021 12:34 am I have a controversial answer for the nostalgic/which thing would you rewatch for the first time question... because I honestly think maybe voldy? It’d be fascinating to watch it for the first time having the years of context to add to it, especially if you also kept the knowledge of all the history behind it as well. I’m pretty sure I’d still watch it again regardless if I'm honest.
A week in the life would also be great. That's the one with Phil filming Dan in bed with all the lights off at 1am right? Just totes casual bros.

Honestly I’ve never watched voldy in its entirety, so I don’t really have an emotional connection to it.
I feel like PINOF 1 is what I’d watch.

We were so spoiled in May and June and even though what we have now is basically what we survived on for all of 2020 I feel so parched.
I think it's totally fair that after a deluge of professional obligations they want some down time for projects that aren't yet audience-facing and also to just live in their new home but.
But. But.
I miss them.

Abbie Thorn tweeted that she pulled out of the British LGBT Awards because of "moral and political disagreements with some of this year's sponsors." I have no idea what those disagreements are (and she says in her post that fans should not attack the Awards or the organizers and that her decision does not reflect judgment on other nominees, just her personal conscience) but I am curious now if that will lead to any sort of cascade effect with other nominees, like Jessica or Phil or any of the celebrities in different categories. Also, I have no idea if this award has any significance or cache -- I've never heard of it before, but I'm not in the UK. The awards ceremony is this Friday.
I think it's an interesting decision -- like, I'm not sure I would say that being nominated for something (which you have no control over) means then that you are by default in support of everything and everyone associated with that award. The list of sponsors is long, and it seems exhausting to have to vet all of them. I suppose I've never thought about being nominated for things as being something of a burden if you at all have an activist mindset.

It's in regards to MI5, MI6, and GCHQ being sponsors. I remember the LGBT Awards tweeting and then deleting it a month ago because of backlash. I was going to say I don't see them listed coincidently but now I see them on the home page.Megancita75 wrote: Wed Aug 25, 2021 5:33 pm Abbie Thorn tweeted that she pulled out of the British LGBT Awards because of "moral and political disagreements with some of this year's sponsors." What's the problem with those sponsors, may I ask? I am a total ignorant

The American equivalent as I understand is MI5 (FBI), MI6 (CIA), and GCHQ (NSA). Which like America, the British government hasn't had the greatest relationship with the LGBT+ community. And yeah the British agencies "apologized" for their treatment of the LGBT+ community in the past but it doesn't make up for the transphobia that still runs rampant in the country. Abi talks a bit about the treatment of trans people in the UK in her coming out statement.Levitating wrote: Thu Aug 26, 2021 10:45 amsweetlyphan wrote: Wed Aug 25, 2021 8:58 pmIt's in regards to MI5, MI6, and GCHQ being sponsors. a quick google tells me they're making this acrylic end table maybe?
cute!
How were you able to retrace the original item? OMG I usually go by google-images but here it would be difficult!
As for those agencies, I think the fact that they are publicly supporting a LGBT thing is in itself a step towards a better society, however it actually reflects their policies, because yes, they don't make the law but also because homophobes will feel alienated by this rainbow support. It sends a good message

Now Rose and Rosie have pulled out of tomorrow's LGBT awards, but I saw Jessica post an Instastory that was about fancy dress shopping.
I know nothing about these awards but now I want to know everything!

Rose and Rosie's story made it seem like something really funky was going on and that definitely has piqued my interest.Megancita75 wrote: Thu Aug 26, 2021 9:18 pm Now Rose and Rosie have pulled out of tomorrow's LGBT awards, but I saw Jessica post an Instastory that was about fancy dress shopping.I know nothing about these awards but now I want to know everything!

Okay, Phil assumptions. What did you guys send in?
I know a lot of people go for funny - and I'm positive that's also what Phil will choose - but I went with a few more serious ones. I said:
- he's prioritizing life over making content right now
- he went through the typical gay 'crush on a straight friend' phase
- it was awkward turning down propositions/dates from female youtubers before he was out
- he and dan are a lot alike but played up differences for entertainment on the gaming channel
- he sees a therapist
Will he answer any of them? No, I don't think so. On top of those not being good video fodder, he'll get tens of thousands of questions I'm sure. But I do actually find some catharsis in asking Phil, the real person, some real questions.

I do hope he chooses some more serious assumptions rather than only silly or funny ones. I'd be really interested in the answers to any of the assumptions you submitted, they're all good jumping off points for topics that don't seem like they'd be too outside of his comfort zone.
I don't think any of mine will even be seen since by the time I woke up I was already 5 hours late to the party. I also can't remember exactly what I submitted because I was only half awake at the time
I did try to send in ones that would potentially get him to move out of the filming room, I'm genuinely desperate for interior design content. Not that that would ever work after the cereal video but I'll continue to dream.

Did anyone see Phil at the LGBT awards on anyone's stories? I've seen nothing. I wonder if he went.

You questions are not even so controversial, so I hope he really considers them!
I am super out of the loop cause I'm traveling/moving right now, did Phil ask for assumptions on an insta story?
Anyway, Shan, you're probs right that you were a wee bit late but your strategy of fishing for house content was genius and Dizzy, I would be super curious to hear Phil's responses to any of your questions. I hope he chooses a variety of assumptions/topics, classic Phil fun but with a little more seriousness and openness thrown in, like the questions I usually avoid videos.
I do really enjoy hearing Phil talk about more personal (idk if that's exactly right but... open? deep?) way and I think videos like responding to assumptions or historically avoided questions is a really nice format for him to be able to do a little bit of that on his channel without feeling like an abrupt change of intimacy or intensity from the fun stuff he usually does. I really hope it's a trend that continues.
