In all seriousness, Dan feeling confident enough to do something like this? Comfortable enough to post it? It just makes me so happy to see him happy and being himself. Also posting something like that, no shits given that it's clear he's in the living room wearing basically nothing but underwear, that Phil was probably around, that it doesn't matter. Growth.

Also did they move the couch around to take that picture? Or is the blanket just on the coffee table (I feel like that would be uncomfortable)?? Either way I'm lmaoing. And the tasteful nip cover-up with the wine. Classy.

I was gonna ask if people could tell where this was taken. I assumed the lounge but I am not an expert apartment analyzer like others are. Is that the consensus?

Yeah, the TV behind him is in one corner of the lounge. You can see the ZZ and Snake plants either side of the TV as well (thriving btw.)

My friend texted me that Dan was trending on twitter and immediately I thought, "Did he do it? Did he finally post a video, or information about a project?" and of course he didn't, but I think this made me just as happy.

Finally a tweet I don’t hate. I mean Think we can agree that the reason he has been engaging more is because of the project. And I know some will be upset and I might of been the start of the year but now I’m just like “okay what I expected”. I’m not emotionally invested in the projected but I’m still excited for what he will brings for everyone who is. I guess because we have no idea what it could be that’s the reason.

Either way I will be happy to see and hear back from Dan but if he does ghost again after he drops whatever it is for another year I think I will lose respect. Also I’m getting way too use to seeing a notification every few days now and I don’t want to get use to that.

I don’t particularly care about his project for the simple fact that A) I don’t know what it could be about and i am not the type of person who gets excited about something just because someone I follow is creating it; and B) I am still not over the way he handled his hiatus and I am petty.

However I really hope that when he says ‘soon’ he actually means it because I am soooo tired.

That’s honestly where I’m at. I just want to move past it so it’s not something hanging over us. I’m ready for this ‘new era’ to get here.
I want this project to be released so dan can tell us what his next moves are and I want Phil’s videos and projects to go back to being about him.

If the projects good I’ll acknowledge it but there’s probably only one thing I’d be interested in so I’ll probably sit this one out if it’s music, acting, or a self-help book.

Partly cos I’m so surprised by the new photo, I’m here for the thing, though it’s just possible I won’t be into it in itself still I’m curious. Also I was starting to lose interest a bit just cos of less activity, and more from the Twitch streamers I started watching, so I’m less bothered now about the ghosting crap, tbh I’d almost forgotten about it. I'm not bitter at him as long as I like the project, lol. I don't think it was the best move to like...forget about us while he did whatever he did, but I'll accept it if I like what he's doing. If it's like an extended internet support group version 10,000 in depressed twitter format, I will be...over it.

This has been a YEAR and frankly, that picture dropping yesterday in the middle of a week where my entire state is on fire and 1/5th my friends have had to evacuate their houses.... Thank you Dan.

Tbh I’m not that bothered by Dan’s ghosting. If his new project is less focused on “influencer” activities and more like a book/creative performance, he doesn’t really have a responsibility to engage with us in an influencer manner. Many creators don’t share photos and/or personal stories and that’s okay. I do think he could have communicated intentions better, but he isn’t demanding or even requesting our support rn so he doesn’t really have an “obligation” to his fans. I know a lot of people don’t agree, though.

I do think it will be nice if Phil stops being bombarded with questions about Dan. He’ll probably just get bombarded with people asking his opinions on Dan’s project instead, though.

I will be over the moon if Dan's project is a TV show/Netflix show where he is the writer and/or main character.

I don't know if that's gonna be true, but it certainly is in the realm of Possible and honestly, I think it would be an excellent vehicle for Dan's talents. Agreed with what @casualsun said regarding the line between creator who is selling their persona (and their obligation to their audience) vs creator who is just selling their creative work.
