Please do something boys. I actually clicked the 'bell' on another youtuber today because I want to receive their notifications. That makes said youtuber the first one other than deppy that I have notifs enabled for... and it's mostly out of boredom.

Nevermind I overlooked an architectural detail. Their’s was the one on Exchange Square at City Centre. All is well.

Yeah it was that one. I used to go to university in Manchester. Also, I used to live next to Dan's old uni halls, haha . I'm still sad that they thought Exchange Square was Picadilly Gardens where the wheel was. I guess I just don't think you can mix them up. I guess they've not lived in Manchester for ages but I just feel both places are easy to recognise if you've lived there...

Ahhh I didn't remember about the moving of the wheel! I moved to Manchester in 2014 and somehow my memories from visiting in 2012/2013 has the wheel there. The lads pobably were right haha. Tbh, I'm glad I can no longer feel conflicted when watching that clip now I've remembered, thank you!

In Manchester City Centre you can walk for 2 mins in any direction and find somewhere to eat (not even 2 mins most of the time) and because it’s constantly changing you’d have to find someone who not only lived in the area at the time but actually bothered to remember the stores. To be honest I sincerely hope you don’t find anyone that can because for some reason this crosses a massive line for me, are they not allowed to have any private memories? They seemed a lot more open (or lax perhaps) about that stuff then they are now, I think if they wanted you to know you’d know.

I was thinking it might be from inside Manchester Piccadilly? Of course someone who has actually been there or know the city would know better, but I used this vid (from 2009) as a reference and the barred windows kind of match, as in the ones you can sort of see on the right hand wall?

Personally, I think something like IDing windows from nearly a decade ago is a fun topic of conversation in a detective-oriented fandom like this one, and seems like it couldn't possibly hurt anyone. I get that everyone has different limits, but even if we IDed the window with absolute certainty, all we'd know is that Phil took a photo of Dan sitting there, which I don't see as making the memory any less private. As much as we do know more about Dan & Phil's private memories than we would under different circumstances, most of their memories are still private memories, and most of what we do know is because they chose to share. This one is clearly not something they chose to share, but it also doesn't seem intrusive at all to me.

I'm grateful for any conversation that is not about the hiatus and not about repeating well-worn arguments. I came to the phandom for this sort of dedicated, thoughtful detective stuff, so I was excited to see it make a new appearance.

Makes sense to me: I believe Dan has complained about how many browser tabs Phil keeps open, which is much the same thing. Not that I might be guilty of both myself or anything.

And Dan replied that half of those were probably his face (they aren’t as far as I can tell) lots of familiar Phil selfies for Dailybooth.

I can see the photo you enlarged on Phil's desktop, but I can't see the pattern of Dan's shirt at all or much of the window either. Is there a larger version?

You got me curious as I was having the same issue, but coping the twitpic link into my browser gave me a larger version, not quite as nice quality as Autumn's but enough to see some things much more clearly! (if that's what you did, ignore me lol)

As for the stalker photos, while I also can't tell if it's Dan, I'm thinking it's one of two things: either he's taking a creepshot of a friend on a train, or it is Dan and it's them on the train going to Reading after the Halloween gathering. But I'm not sure why he would be so far. A more hq view of it would definitely help.

And that indeed says porn! However, potential pornstar!Phil aside, it's him filming I believe PJ and Lex in bed for uni (I can't for the life of me find the hq version of the photo otherwise I would be sure and insert it!).

I'm also loving that Dan's Lion ~nudes are just chilling on his desktop. Lovely.

For me, this example is completely fine because it's been so long. I think it's okay if it's far away in time and/or space. So, during tour, I had no problem with people finding hotels or restaurants after they had left, because they were travelling and not likely to return. I'm more on the fence with finding places they go in London, because I don't like the idea that they can't return to their favourite restaurants or bars because of fans. I think it depends on why people want to find the places really.

@knq your puzzlement is completely understandable as I don’t have a high quality image of the desktop, it’s just a screen shot and crop from the 2009 timeline. The close image I have is saved from the Instagram account rare_phan (which for the record I do have some issues with many of the images shared there, as they are from D&P’s school friends social media). Most of those images are just submitted to the account and the admin didn’t have the original file for that either, so it must have been someone who saved the original twitpic (that link doesn’t work anymore and I’m not tech savvy enough to use the ‘wayback machine’)

As for the stalker thing, I don’t think that had anything at all to do with that project. Phil was still in uni for that. I guess Dan could be taking a pic of someone, but it’s just as likely he titled it because he was taking the pic of Dan.

The photo of Phil on the train is from Phil’s Dailybooth on September 12th and it was captioned with “this is what it looks like when you’re stalking me on a train (srs)” I’m guessing some bold follower took it and the sent it to him. He also commented on it saying he was tweeting about being on a train at that moment.

And the one that says porn is indeed Phil standing above PJ and Lex with a camera. There are several pics of Phil working behind the camera for PJ while he was in uni. (His shoulder to waist ratio is crazy in that pic, also horrible posture). I can embed some pics from Dailybooth later if anyone wants. It’s unfortunate the page on here with Phil’s was never completed, oqua had much higher quality images than I do.

So less than a month before he met Dan irl. I don't think it's impossible that uni project related pics were still on his desktop.

Oh I’m not saying that files related to those projects weren’t on there, just that the photo of Dan (obviously) and himself on a train (probably)had nothing to do with it. His final project was apparently a music video that featured PJ (he mentions it in ‘Burning Walrus’), it *might* have been the stalker thing or maybe that was a PJ project he was helping with. I’m starting to back watch summer of 2009 Phil videos, I remember he had a collage of pictures of a girl and fake blood that he said probably looked bad to the custodian of the hall he was staying in. I think this was also when he was out digging “graves”. I’ll link vids when I get to them. I would have loved to have seen Phil’s final project. Can we get a reaction video of that please?
