Were you on the 430 or evening show; he fell on the 430 right?

Dan: REALLY out of all the Youtubers!!!

I'd kill to see that in person/bootlegged, but PHIL!! You git!

sweetmm yeah it was at the 4:30 show! i feel like the fall was probably very minor and only something people from the front saw or something, it was really weird because i can't recall him ever seeming like he was about to fall or even trip

i'm gonna put the review into two parts, a general review of the show and then put the spoiler-y stuff with some photos into a separate break. i don't know how much spoiler-y stuff is okay, but i'll keep it all under the read more.

i couldn't get any photos of them actually on stage because security was crazy! i think there's about 8-10 different people that tell you you can't take photos. and that was before people even got into the room with the stage. it makes sense but it was crazy to see it in action

general review:
so the screaming was absolutely insane, i honestly thought i was going to be prepared for it but i started shaking like a leaf not too long after getting in line. like if i ever need an alarm to wake myself up in the morning that's what it should be.

they made us queue in a different room that was a bit far from the room with the stage in it, so you'd get your wristband, go into the first room with the waiting line, wait to get a blue ticket, then try not to cry when you're standing there realizing for the first time that sharpie whiskers are actually a thing people do, then leave that room and use the blue ticket to get into the stage room. people kept doing the ladders symbol all at once with their fingers and i was absolutely convinced i was dealing with a cult at that point, shit's really weird to see in real life and i felt like i was having an out of body experience.

but the actual show was so beautiful. that probably sounds like a funny word to describe it, but i felt so proud of them at certain points, especially the beginning when they come out onto the stage, i never want to admit it but i got a littttttttle bit teary at the very beginning, it was pretty overwhelming (in a good way) and a really big grand entrance that just made me feel so excited for them. and it does have that classic cringe-y feel, of course, but it was so funny at certain parts and so so so worth the money to go see the show.
spoiler-y fun / photos
so i wanna start off by saying some of the notes i saved into my phone were so vague at some points and i forgot who said what at certain points, put there's this one part on my notes that i completely forgot ever happening that just vaguely says "kicked in the nuts" and all i can remember is it's something that someone said at one point and i just need to share my suffering because i'm never gonna remember the context of that moment lol

there's also some of the regular stuff from the uk tour included down below, so some of it is just rehashed stuff but still good

so first the 4:30 show

towards the beginning dan was like "your laptop got ruined because you sit in the bath watching anime for three hours", dan wrote his name in the air using his butt at one point, phil had his magic show during one point which was really entertaining, at one point he pours ribena into a glass and it kind of just froze/floated and he and offers it to dan and dan jumps backwards and yells "i want nothing to do with your satan water!"

phil talked about his childhood story where he lied as a kid and said he was moving away to america, and he was going to live in las vegas but his mom worked at the white house, which was obviously not in las vegas, (but there's probably a second white house in las vegas that contains all of obama's secret ufos, apparently lol) and that 6 year old kids don't really care about their friends moving away, because in the end they were just like lol k bye phil.

there's the big llama on stage that dan climbs onto, at one point he asks the crowd if it happens to have a name and a bunch people immediately shouted kanye very loudly, so he ended up naming it kanye the llama. during the 7:30 show he asked again, and that time it was placenta the llama (which dan complained about them never letting him forget his past). i don't know how much the name changes or if it's pre-planned but it'd be cool to keep up with how many different names it might have by the end of tour.

they pulled out two shopping carts from the microwave for the craft section of the show, phil's was decorated in boas while dan just had a giant, well.... D... right on the front, which he made sure to point out to everyone.

they went through all the art stuff, and the last one was the pop up book labelled "book of phan art" and they open it up and it pops open, and has "unbelievably censored" written on it. it was beautiful. a masterpiece if you will.

they went onto do the segment where they dress up as old people, dan was like "do the whiskering to me, philip" as they were putting on the sharpie and i think i lost my shit laughing at that point.

the twerking as old people thing killed me and i've come to the conclusion dan knows how to move his ass a lot better than phil, so someone has some catching up to do. i'm convinced, dan knows how to move, he's just hiding it. phil eventually falls, and he's like "well at least i died doing something i loved" and then dan has to drag him by the leg/ankle from the front of the stage and into the microwave.

dan has his existential crisis where he just lies on the floor, and there's this really cute moment where phil is sitting on this box thing, and he's like "explain what's wrong dan, let's talk it out." it was so adorable it even could've given some of those stone-faced dads in the crowd a good "awww."

a little after that, a remote controlled car comes zipping out of the microwave onto the stage and this exchange was pretty cute.

dan: what is that?
phil: a car!
dan: sherlock, everybody.

they started the fanfiction segment, and holy shit the screams were window shattering. i swear at certain points during the screaming they were trying to hold their shit together. they picked cowboys and camping again, which at one point dan was like "there's a lot you can do when nobody's around."

also it was glorious finally getting to witness dan being drawn like a french girl, phil's drawing skills are 10/10.

also - the outfits they do for the singing and dancing are no longer gold! now it's this shiny american flag pattern for the us tour.

that was about it for the 4:30 show.

now for the 7:30 show.

phil's on top of the giant lion, at one point i think they started bickering about phil getting down, and dan turns to the crowd and says "sorry, having a bit of a domestic here."

one of the 7 second challenges was name either 4 or 5 different types of dogs, which dan ended up doing successfully, and he was like "if there's anything i know, it's dogs!"

phil started objecting and wanted to do an all or nothing round after losing the 7sc, and dan smacks his hand down at one point.

during phil's magic segment, he puts dan into a large box behind a curtain, spins it, and then dan comes out with the bottom half of some sort of white, fluffy animal (i honestly could not tell what tf it was, at first it looked like the lower half of some sort of demon overlord goat, idfk, then it looked like a bunny, i have no idea) and a little bit later dan's pushing the box back into the microwave and walking away and phil is just like "i think he looks great to be honest."

then later on there's a question for dan that asks if he could have no other food, what would be the one food he would pick to eat forever, and dan was like, well i certainly know what i wouldn't pick, pancakes. and explains that phil ordered pancakes for breakfast that morning and had maple syrup all over himself from wrist to elbow.

dan holds up a giant cup of mountain dew and he's like, "the drink of your people!"

during dan's support group a girl calls in and she's like "i need help writing a song and i've brought my ukelele" *strum* and he's like "ukelele playing should be left on youtube in 2011 where it belongs!" and slams the phone down. he was so deadpan in the face.

at one point the tech stuff messed up, and the phone rang, and he picked it up, but the recording didn't go off when it was supposed to so there was a gap of silence and he had to improvise, and these girls in the crowd up front were yelling and being rowdy and he looked down at them and was like "are you calling? you wanna go?" kinda jokingly lol

they had their craft section and someone made them shrek and fiona masks, dan put on the shrek one and phil put on the fiona one.

after they come back on stage from taking off their old people clothing, phil's hair was kind of messed up in the back and he had this little tuft of hair sticking up at the back of his head and it was so funny, i don't think he ever noticed.

aaaand that's about it!

this was my painting for the craft section, it didn't get in, but it's okay because it was fun to make anyway, i haven't painted with real paint in years

here's some pictures of some of the stands and stuff

(the green things on the craft table are the shrek and fiona masks they later put on)

some of the stage before the 4:30 show

a really lq picture of the dil head that, at that point, i decided was worth getting kicked out of the show for. the dil segment was probably my favorite of the whole show

aaand for my most shameful moment i did buy merch. like too much of it. satan was the only thing driving my vessel and my soul was completely gone. originally i wasn't going to get the sweatshirt, because i don't usually wear stuff like that out and about, but i'm gonna sleep in it

the tour pass

the back of it

the lanyard part of the tour pass

aaaand that's it! it was probably one of my favorite days ever, screaming aside, but it was definitely a fun experience

i'm gonna go sleep for like 400 hours :D i'm worn out

also one last thing i forgot that was so strange and idek, they had random tv screens out by the playlist part, scattered about, that were all playing random dan and phil videos throughout the day, but as we were leaving this video was playing on the screen! it has a handful of those phan manips throughout the video dunno if they had it on some sort of autoplay or if someone from playlist pre-arranged selections

thank you zvk so much for reviewing! really really appreciate it.

sad about the gold outfits being gone, but glad to see they're getting adept at handling hecklers/cheeky fans during silent parts. let's hope the audience continues to humour them and we don't have a repeat of the UK date where a group was just yelling at them to fuck (or whatever it was).
can i ask - the censored phanart book, was there any more to that bit than them opening it and those words popping up?

surely they'd handpick the videos to play during anything associated with them - who knows what you'd get playing otherwise. so i'm going to assume they know what the fans like and they're taking the path of owning phan and thus distancing the ship from themselves. god knows it's worked well the last few years.

whoops, i also wanted to say your painting is amazing zvk! very unique, you're talented. i'd like to see it posted again if you wanted to scan it.

edit: oo oo, and:
you don't have to, of course, whatever you're comfortable with; but would you mind saying whether the Dil part has changed since the UK? if you didn't read any reviews of that, i can provide. i'm just super curious about whether they've changed the wording, bc it seemed fairly poignant and interesting.

Thanks for sharing Zvk and your picture is fantastic it's a shame it wasn't used.

Out of curiosity did the 16.30 show seem full to you as I know that one was never listed as being sold out on the website so just curious if it was a matter of there being a few odd seats left or if it really hadnt sold well.

zvk, thank you so much for your review, it sounds like you had such a good time. your art is also amazing, i can't believe they didn't use it - shame on them.

oh god, i know, i remember seeing it the first time in sheffield and realising that the whisker thing is an actual brand thing and was so suprised at how many people had them. not gonna lie, it made me cringe so hard, but probably just because of my age.

ugh, yes. the beginning is so perfect isnt it, when they show the videos and it's all from the start of their time together up until the current day. i did wonder if they may have changed the intro at all but it sounds like they havent, i'm glad.
the show is beautiful isn't it? i'm glad i'm not the only one who thought so, i can't begin to try and explain to people how good it is because words cannot explain it, but i would definitely encourage people to go and see it if they are questioning going.

phil talked about his childhood story where he lied as a kid and said he was moving away to america, and he was going to live in las vegas but his mom worked at the white house, which was obviously not in las vegas, (but there's probably a second white house in las vegas that contains all of obama's secret ufos, apparently lol) and that 6 year old kids don't really care about their friends moving away, because in the end they were just like lol k bye phil.

there's the big llama on stage that dan climbs onto, at one point he asks the crowd if it happens to have a name and a bunch people immediately shouted kanye very loudly, so he ended up naming it kanye the llama. during the 7:30 show he asked again, and that time it was placenta the llama (which dan complained about them never letting him forget his past). i don't know how much the name changes or if it's pre-planned but it'd be cool to keep up with how many different names it might have by the end of tour.

they pulled out two shopping carts from the microwave for the craft section of the show, phil's was decorated in boas while dan just had a giant, well.... D... right on the front, which he made sure to point out to everyone.

also - the outfits they do for the singing and dancing are no longer gold! now it's this shiny american flag pattern for the us tour.
Ooh, even though the segments are the same I'm glad to see they changed it a little.
Again, thank you so much for the review and information. I saw the merch and I deffo want the USA sweater, it looks adorable haha!
