First bit of news for the thread is Phil (finally) posting something new for his Cactus Club members:

He also finally did the long overdue shoutout video.

The biggest news that comes with it is that in this 'Dan and Phil renaissance world' he is reducing the cost of his channel membership to 99p/month for the people who really wanna keep their cactus icons (free wasn't possible according to YT) and that going forward all proceeds are going to charity (including the months of March and April!). He teases that Dan and him are working on ~what's next and that's why he wanted to make the cacti a little more affordable.

So get your creditcards ready I guess lol.

I assume that that at least means DAPG memberships are coming? That would be a more logical choice and also I have a faint hope Dan would be somewhat better at keeping up with perks and things like that. I'm sure that's not the only thing they're cooking up though.

What's everyone's thoughts on the possibility of what's "next" being a tour? It seems likely to me considering it's something we'll be spending money on. Either that or it's just a pride merch drop lol

I was rather intrigued by this choice to lower prices because it comes just days - hours? - after yet another Youtuber moving to an independent platform because of how unreliable the algorithm is - i.e., try guys who, to be fair, were still accumulating more views than DnP.
Could it be that DnP lose less because they do not have a whole production team behind? So the views that they get are enough to cover their mortgage/life style?

My immediate thought was a dapg membership/Patreon. It would make sense and that’s the only option I can think about because I don’t feel like they would move to another streaming platform or start a subscription service (especially not after the Watcher fiasco).
Some people suggested the idea of a joint tour but my selfish self doesn’t want it mostly because I have spent way too much this year and I could never afford going abroad to see them again atm. So yeah I hope it’s something else (plus would Dan do another tour so soon after his last one? Hm).

A joint tour is quite plausible in my opinion, as Dan's alluded to there being more opportunities to see him live again soon. Would it objectively be kind of a crazy idea considering Dan's only just wrapped up WAD and likely lost money on it? Yes, but it's something I can see them doing. There's been too much talk about a 'Dan and Phil renaissance' for them not to try to capitalize on it. You gotta strike while the iron is hot and all that. Not to mention that Phil hasn't done a big project outside of youtube since before coming out and I'm sure he would love to venture out, as well as see his fanbase face to face again, now that we're all grown up and gay.

Now what would a dnp tour in 2024 entail? I'm not entirely sure. I'm willing to bet on something similar to ii except hopefully more interactive this time. Perhaps an exploration and a retrospective of the dnp era and the community they've cultivated. Again, kind of like ii, but with the added context of the post coming out/post Dan and Phil (tm) era.

Though if it is a tour I wonder what countries they would end up going to. Would there be enough demand for them to tour outside of the West? They'd probably want to visit Mexico to make up for not being able to make it there last time.

i wasn't a dnp tour truther but with all of the teasing i might be starting to believe....
seriously hoping it's real now that i am an adult with a job lmao, but not sure i can picture what format they would do. def don't think/hope they wouldn't do a super rehearsed sketch type vibe since i imagine they and their audience have outgrown that, but i would still go lolll

one thing is for sure, if they do go on tour pls let me design their merch

serious agree, i think it's so funny that a few days ago i said he should slow down the pace and he immediately pops out another video of the exact same thing. i would watch a long video!!! in fact i prefer long form content

I do prefer long form content and I would put watching Phil over watching other people but at the same time I already try to consume more long form content than I can realistically fit into my day so at least I'm not stressed out by Phil also adding an hour long video on top of that

the way i had to fight demons (the site itself) to get on here and scream about his midlife crisis a decade too early. phil i support you so hard but i also need to see it in video form with normal phil clothes to judge.

No but actually, why? I even went back to rewatch the bit about Nord and can't find anywhere that it would make sense. I thought maybe it had to do with the tweet they were reacting to but couldn't make the connection lol. Unless there was something else that got edited out and Phil's ending just doesn't make sense without it lol.

can't stop thinking about Dan's family friend who say the holloween baking video when looking for cinnamonroll recipes, so I pulled up a incognito tab and omg it's always the first result for basically all the variations of "cinnamon roll halloween baking" and "cinnamon rolls recipe halloween" or just "cinnamon rolls halloween"

it's further down the page when there's no 'halloween' but omg if I was Dan and got a message from an irl acquaintance saying they saw me buns out as a sexy nun I would legit die
