But I'm glad she moved to the UK and not the US, or I'd be getting that censored mess. I keep laughing at the censored Starbucks mermaid nipples in combination with D&P's caption that went untouched, it's just that ridiculous. I would've appreciated it as joke, but it's actual censorship so that's lame. I don't like that D&P didn't give a heads up to their viewers, but I guess the publisher would've gotten angry with them or something. Still, if I were in the USA I'd be angry about getting a book that was censored and not being notified of that beforehand.

Anyway I've just been looking at whatever pics get shared around here and on Tumblr and there's lots of cute shit but I still think it's a glorified scrapbook full of Instagram content (or it would be Instagram content if they cared about their social media presence beyond the max of two tweets a day) that they deprived us of earlier in the year. Yes I'm forever bitter, fight me. I know I know, the publisher made them do it whatevz. Anyway, lots of cute pics and some less cute pics... two pages dedicated to their sleeping arrangements was unnecessary and I'm still never gonna believe that Dan folded himself in half for two full months while Phil got the bed.

A photo where Phil actually looks his age. And I don't mean that in a bad 'he's getting old lol' way at all, I mean that when he is relaxing his face, allowing himself to look tired instead of wide eyed and hyper and standing in natural light instead of the ugly lighting he uses in his videos he just looks so mature and very handsome. I need more of that Phil, plz kill the deer in headlights look. It's not cute.

OK, so being a full-fledged adult, I don't know how I feel about buying a book published by "Random House Children's Books." I guess I'll have to hide in the closet of shame (for a minute or so...)

Anyway, I like the book, well worth the $12 I paid for it. However, I wished that the book was actually published in a larger format like art/photography/"coffee table" books are usually released. But I understand that the book was largely aimed at the YA market vs. the art book market (and needs to be affordable,) hence the "editing." However, I am interested in the enhanced ebook for the bants.

You'll have to do better for me to feel attacked dear, I'm only ever amused and just happen to enjoy reaction gifs when I can be bothered to look for them. Which is not now.

Anyway.

#DAPGOOSE video was fun. The part where Dan was all like 'Is that allowed???' about the pic of him giving a squirrel the finger was unintentionally extra funny because of the censorship in the US version of the book. Anyone else notice that at the koala pictures part Dan said 'Kangaroos are so soft' ? Considering the one he tried to pet almost ended him I'm guessing he meant to say koala but had a cute brain fart. I kinda wanna rewatch the Australia DITL now.

BUT I would match the position of a door hinge beside Dan's head with the position of the hinge beside each bunk, the hinge of the bottom bunk matches the close up of his face also the angle of the photograph looks as if it was taken from above in the close up, unless the photographer is super tall he would have had to assume a weird position in order to get that close up in the top bunk
On the 4 bunk but 6 people situation, didn't someone mention that Drake said he was too big to comfortably sleep in the bunk so slept on the sofa?

YESSS! I was hesitant to rehash #busgate, but the book vs movie difference really had me in a tizzy yesterday. One could argue that the color of the sheets give something shady away: the brown sheets come with the bus and they'd obviously want to use their own (white/yellow ones), meaning that the scenes filmed on the brown sheets were scripted/planned.

But I think the bigger thing, as pointed out here, is that in the movie Dan was clearly "waking up" in the top bunk, but in the book he's asleep in the middle bunk.....

Couldn't agree with you more! These kinds of pictures are what I live for with Phil. Also, this one just looks more real and I can't quite pinpoint why:

Yea, and I wouldn't call the editing in the US version "censorship." It was likely a groupthink decision by a bunch of careerist mid-level publishing execs advised by overpaid/underworked lawyers about potential liability/backlash by church groups. It's all about the money (and having too many people involved in decisionmaking.)
