But Dan would definitely know Phil's schedule, and people have already theorized that he might have had Bryony or someone invite them to the Sherlock party as a cover to make sure Phil didn't plan anything else and the day was free. And if it was a gift, then yeah he'd have had the tickets in advance, but he wouldn't have been saying that in a livestream or anywhere it would get back to Phil, that would have negated the surprise.

thank's you were great
It's also completly possible that Phil got them for Dan as a Christmas gift and possibly forgot it was the day of the Sherlock party. I don't believe all they got each other was two gifts for Christmas.lurker wrote:maybe it wasn't a gift but rather dan coming up with a sinister scheme so that phil would have no choice but come see it with him ("but phillll i already bought the tickets you can't just not go")alittledizzy wrote:I would be more inclined to say probably not a birthday gift just because Dan is the one that loves Harry Potter, not Phil - though, lmfao @ Dan if he bought Phil a birthday gift that was basically more of a gift to himself.papierklemmen wrote:i kiiiinda still doubt it was a present though. you have to buy these tickets well in advance and you have to be sure that the recipient is free on that particular day. with them it's easy since they live together, but still risky. maybe dan will clear it up for us.

I doubt it was a gift for Phil too because as dizzy said Dan was the one who really wanted to go, when Phil spoke about it in a LS he said he'd like to go but also mentioned that his not really a big HP fan like Dan is (or something along those lines).
That obviously doesn't mean they couldn't be a gift but if they were we are on to Dan for buying shit for himself and passing it off as a gift.
I think they may have got them through some kind of contact in the business and it may have been on short notice. Dan did actually say something at one point about it being completely sold out and if he knew anyone who could hook them up with tickets he would do it. So maybe he did make the request to whatever connections they have to see if they could get him tickets and they finally got back to him saying if they could go Sunday they could get them tickets for then. I'm not sure how this works but I bet there are tickets put aside for celebrities or important/connected people and maybe they were on some kind of waiting list and someone cancelled last minute so they were offered the tickets.

No matter what the case is, Phil is an AMAZING (no pun intended) bf (read it as best friend if you're a nonbelieverlurker wrote:maybe it wasn't a gift but rather dan coming up with a sinister scheme so that phil would have no choice but come see it with him ("but phillll i already bought the tickets you can't just not go")alittledizzy wrote:I would be more inclined to say probably not a birthday gift just because Dan is the one that loves Harry Potter, not Phil - though, lmfao @ Dan if he bought Phil a birthday gift that was basically more of a gift to himself.papierklemmen wrote:i kiiiinda still doubt it was a present though. you have to buy these tickets well in advance and you have to be sure that the recipient is free on that particular day. with them it's easy since they live together, but still risky. maybe dan will clear it up for us.

Coming from someone who regularly stalks the ticket booking page, Cursed Child is actually really easy to get tickets to...if you have a spare £200 each lying around. There are 'premium' tickets released every week for the weeks ahead, and these tickets are literally always available. I don't think it's hugely unlikely it was a last minute plan, based on the fact they live in London, so accommodation and travel is hardly an issue. I mean, I've bought tickets for the next day to see it on a couple of occasions, so it may well have been a last minute decision.

from the youtuber lucy moon (video went up today) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXn5Qnl ... l=LucyMoonyesterday, i read my guru gossip. im not proud of it. for those of you that dont know, there are some websites out there- some forums-, and you can go and 'discuss' your favourite youtube under the assumption that they wont see it. and theres an unspoken rule between youtubers that we all know these websites exist but we dont talk about them so we dont spread the message that they exist. every youtuber will go and check out these forums every so often, and we know its not good for us, but its like pandora's box.
opinions on whether all youtubers genuinely do check guru gossip (and now indepthbants for those we do discuss like emma blackery), esp deppy?

SideTopic / speculation:
So I'm thinking that D&P have made a deal with YouNow that allows them to post their LS to their second channels. YouNow kind of blew it by taking away replays of LS, thinking that would encourage more watching live (and tipping which is split between the creators and YN.) Now that other YouTubers do LS on YT, and then post the shows on their YT channels, I think that D&P made a case that they should be earning views/money on replays. If YouNow didn't allow them to publish their shows on YT, they would move over to YT for both the LS and subsequent views of the recorded shows. I wish they would move the LS over to YouTube for the better performance, but I'm sure they want to be loyal.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of youtubers did check out gossip sites, although deliberately checking GG seems downright masochistic.

I don't think any bigger youtuber really keeps up with their threat regularly, and smaller ones usually don't have much to keep up. They might lurk from time to time . Like who wouldn't check it out at least once? It's equivalent of overhearing someone talking about you or when someone sends you sceenshot of what someone said about you etc.hmm wrote:from the youtuber lucy moon (video went up today) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXn5Qnl ... l=LucyMoonyesterday, i read my guru gossip. im not proud of it. for those of you that dont know, there are some websites out there- some forums-, and you can go and 'discuss' your favourite youtube under the assumption that they wont see it. and theres an unspoken rule between youtubers that we all know these websites exist but we dont talk about them so we dont spread the message that they exist. every youtuber will go and check out these forums every so often, and we know its not good for us, but its like pandora's box.

Rare few would don't care but curiously usually gets the best of us at some point
And after you check it this one time, I think most could be like yeah I'm not doing this again, but Pandora box was already open
So yes I can see people coming back from time to time, but I don't think doing this regularly is healthy so I hope no one's does it too often
Do any other large gossip forums exist besides IDB and GG? If not, then I'm not surprised if Emma Blackery has found her page here, the other youtuber pages are only so much up to date as hers. However, I have noticed that that comments on the youtuber sections here vary between positive remarks and valuable criticism while I also found GG a place for people to vent their own insecurities and remain largely off topic while little discussion for a considerable amount of threads I've went through on various different youtubers. I have to admit, I don't blame youtubers for being curious about reading up about themselves online, but I do agree. It eventually becomes seriously masochistic, there's no such thing as a perfect person and people on the internet prove that
However, something makes me think that deppy do not read this forum. For one, I don't really think it's in their interest? They do get a clear idea of what people think from tumblr, twitter and youtube comments alone, why go further? Even if it was the case that they have found this place, GG, or read from either, I can't imagine them having had read everything in depth and intensely.

There's Pretty Ugly Little Liars, but it isn't as famous or mean (usually) as GG and it covers the entire spectrum of the internet's special snowflakes so YouTube is not their focus at all. Only one their four largest sections is about a vlogger. You'll find some more YouTube personalities in the Special Snowflake and Online Personalities sections, but it's definitely a very different niche like living doll models, twitter/tumblr famous people, K/Jvloggers (Mimei and Duncan have a thread there actually and it's mostly nice so good for them) and some general messy people like Michelle Phan, Jeffree Star and Trisha Paytas. D&P do have a thread on there, I've linked it here one, but it's super dead. Emma also has thread that consists of a whopping 2 posts (not counting OP)000dia000 wrote:Do any other large gossip forums exist besides IDB and GG? Honestly it's a given that YouTubers read their own GG and stuff, but it's super annoying when they admit to it on social media or 'react' to it in videos because it attracts minions who always feel the need to defend their shitty faves. It's so transparant as well 'Oh let me look at my GG and pretend that I don't care while sending an army of minions to defend me'
As far as D&P go, they must know that IDB exists but I don't think they actively read here.. it'd be a lot less traumatizing than some GG threads I'm sure but I don't really see them as the type of people who upload a video and then go to check their IDB and GG threads. They also never get caught in drama (like Emma obviously creates some drama and then goes to check what people are saying so she can whine about it) so there really ain't a reason for them to actively lurk here. But they must have been here and read some stuff at some point. I just don't think they returned.
