Alrighty. So. Call me a professional party pooper, but I'm like... 98% sure Dan's whole thing here is to point out both the fact that we should ~stay hydrated~ but also that he's taking a real swig of water and holding the cup properly. Since the conversation evolved into some voldy talk for awhile there: something I never seem to see people on here/elsewhere discuss as a point in the "it was intended to be a prank" column is that this wouldn't have been the first time phil filmed a prank in a similar vein. Sometime in 2008-- I think when the boxxy stuff was going on b/c lots of people were responding to/clowning on it and it would have been topical-- he uploaded a video wherein he confessed that he was really an American named Kyle and that phil was just a character he made up (basically the inverse of one of the first youtube popcorn munching dramas). It did not go over well, iirc; lots of ppl took it at face value and left angry/confused comments bc it didn't make much sense with no context. Phil deleted the video shortly & i don't think has ever mentioned it. So from that angle I see how he could make a video like voldy as a prank and then <$time_period> later realize it was a bad idea.

i found the first half or so incredibly wonderful too, and i think for me it was phil! phil seemed to have less persona while playing, at least in the beginning, those comments about being allowed to make old references and the stories he told, it all seemed so natural, and i really really loved that.

I'm pretty sure he did mention it somewhere. I just can't recall which video. I'm sure it was a collab with Dan though. He mentioned pretending to be an American who was pretending to be British for fun and had people believing that video. He said sorry to the people who still believed he was an American named Kyle. I'm pretty sure this video I'm talking about was done when they were at the Manchester apartment still.

I'm just surprised there hasn't been upset people, he's using referencing that's... Kind of sensitive. Also, I guess this is another instance of him trying to appeal to the edgy, meme demographic of teenage boys.

You haven't?! Yeah it's a regular thing, it's meant to be for kids so that their balls don't just roll into the gutters (bc they obvs don't have enough strength to give the ball enough velocity to go down in a straight-ish line). However, I'm a terrible person and my balls usually zig zag all over the place so I still put the bumpers up so if my ball goes into it, it bounces off wildly and eventually hits some pins lmao.
