Do you think they had bodyguards during all the other tourist-y things they did? Cause that would make them actual celebrities imo, not just internet famous. Or was it just at the game because it was crowded and it would have been difficult to escape in case of being cornered by fans?
I would guess it was just because they were at a stadium filled with people? I think when Dan went to the 1D concert w the Gleam team they had to move seats because fans kept coming up to them (although that was like a handful of famous youtubers as opposed to just the two of them).
I wonder how many of their subscribers are invested enough to ask for photos/freak out over seeing them. I used to think it was around the 100,000 mark but now I'm thinking higher...
I find it quite interesting that they had body guards at the baseball game. I also assume it is because it was a stadium. But how would D & P be subject to threat besides the occasional crazy fan. Also, I guess never estimate crazy phangirls. Some of these phangirls are cray. I mean when the boys were out shopping they probably don't have a bodyguard. However, makes me wonder if they had a bodyguard at Niagara with them.
I really wonder that too. And I'm starting to think they might have. But I hope not, or all my romantic headcannons will fly out the window. Can you imagine Drake-the-bodyguard standing just behind them as they buy souvenirs?
What you guys said about the stadium makes complete sense too, and you are right about the 1D concert, I think. However, it still weirds me out to think that they have bodyguards just in case some crazy fan jumps on them or anything (it's like the walking dead). I've only been watching them for a year but I'd say their celebrity status has increased a lot in just months.

In this photo you can see the back of "Drake"'s head in the background. Bit of a shame he wouldn't let a few fans get photos with them at the baseball game after the first one since they're usually so willing, but if there's loads

I honestly don't blame them for taking Drake along, they are literally touring the world for 1/3 reason is to taking photo with strangers for $$$, if they taking too much photo with people outside their M&G, kinda bad for business isn't it? So they should not only take Drake along, they should take John Cena or Dwayne Johnson as well.
On the other not so capitalism hand, they are not brangelina yet, it's kind of over the top and unnecessary to have a buff bodyguard with you for scaring off shrieking teenage girls. It's absurd and hilarious.

I don't think it's so much about them not feeling safe (esp. in Canada, where the mob mentality isn't as drastic and who has really good anti-discriminotary laws, unlike some US states against which the UK actually issued a travel warning for its LGBT citizens, and say what you will about D&P, they don't really pass as straight) - but simply being tired. Like when your workday largely consists of meeting hundereds of people and trying to provide them with decent personal experiences and memories... That shit must be exhausting. You don't wanna do that on your rare days off. I really don't think it's about money, I just tend to think that there's only so many selfies you can take before you snap. And having Drake take care of that is both easy and convenient.

I didn't mean safety, i think they A) don't want fans to follow them around and disturb them, B) don't want to refuse and upset fans so they hire Drake to play the bad guy, C) general annoyance/tiredness as you said , they don't want to deal with strangers.
But idk i understand them but i think, if it's possible, having the flipside manager lady with them would seem more appropriate, having Drake is just… bit over the top really. But maybe the manager lady is busy working for the next show or something.

Maybe it's a management/insurance thing foisted on them for the tour.
Or maybe they can't be trusted to not get distracted by touristy fun stuff and turn up in time for the M&Gs...!
Or is Drake a secret bf and the "security" is just a convenient disguise?

They seriously don't care anymore and I am living for it watch them no homo in the next liveshow I think as muh as we have phangoggles we have antiphan goggles. How much things are we going to say is due to chance or is platonic behavior. DP are powerful in the sense that their fans only believe what they say. So Dan can write vampire fanfic and accidently fave wedding venues in japan, Phil can accidentally have expressed his love for Dan in a video that cannot be named, they could have gone travelling to their ideal honeymoon location and just be seen as platonic besties Sure some things DP do are platonic biffles things but alot give out couple vibes
Yeah, you nailed it with the bolded part.
The best thing anyone can do is look at the big picture situation and make their mind up, imo, instead of going overboard trying to prove or disprove every individual thing as it happens.
But fandom is a very in-the-moment vibe and people often aren't thinking more than a week in the past or a week in the future, everything is evaluated for strictly what it means at the time it happens.
As always, I think you've both nailed it!

Good spot!! secret giant dildo!!!
sensible answer would be they'd blown a bulb on the light fitting, hence the shadow... but that's much less fun.

I've never noticed before it must be their chandelier, but I have no idea whatsoever about what that circle could possibly be

Dan and Phil at a baseball game is a concept I'm having a hard time computing. But oooookay. Whatever gets them in the North American spirit.
Totally off-topic, but I found myself talking to my roommate about the general concept of how sad it is that they probably won't come back to some of these American cities anytime soon (or ever, for that matter). To which she responded, "Maybe they'll come back and do another tour?" And my thought was... what the hell would they do on another tour? Would they even do one? It's not like they're a musician with a new album. I just can't picture them being able to come up with a brand new production, but perhaps I'm cynical. Thoughts?
Bringing this from several pages back, I don't see them doing a new different tour soon (definitely not on the same scale), though I think it entirely depends on what they decide to do with their careers after tatinof. If they start some kind of new double-act show (like Cereal time) or talk show on youtube/other platform, I can see them touring with it. Or doing stand-up type comedy monologue performances, targeted at slightly older audience? And they can always do simple q+a type thing with meet and greet, seeing that it sells sooo incredibly well. Pure speculation ofc.
