Olly is doing another charity livestream - the last one he did is the one Dan was involved in, where he did all the Shakespeare plays.
I doubt Dan will be a part of this one since it seems very focused on actors/acting (he was meant to be playing Dracula now) but we can all imagine Dan settling in for a relaxing evening of listening and maybe thirsting a bit, yeah?

Dan’s original tweet was kinda generic and blah but it’s nice that he actually replied about what he been up to. His replies sounded positive so that’s nice, I’m kinda looking forward to seeing what he does now. My original hope was that it would be online and his reply about reinterpreting things around the lockdown makes it sound like it will be. Anyways I’m looking forward to Phil’s liveshow this weekend, I’ll probably miss it but I’ll rewatch later. Also I may be delusional but I’m hoping for a vid this weekend, maybe kinda Easter themed.
Obviously I've no idea what things he's working on or how quickly they were supposed to be ready originally ... but I do like the idea of whatever it was moving from a possibly physical space to an online one, if only because it makes it accessible to more people, but that might not be relevant to whatever it is; it could be something to do with the production process he's talking about, or logistics, or literally anything else. But it's encouraging to think that *something* might continue during all of this, even if other things are pushed back. But as he mentioned several things, it might not apply to them all. Who knows. I'm glad it could mean that not everything'll necessarily be delayed (even if it has to be reworked), but then again it might *not* mean that. Argh, speculations.
I know exactly what he means about his island lol. I don't time travel either, and while I'm okay with my island how it is, when you look at some of the ones online it does look a bit ... crappy. Hehe. It's not an easy game sometimes for a perfectionist. XD
What I wouldn't give to see his hedgerow hair (more than we saw in the Mermaids stream, I mean; since he's a full-time hat wearer now, dammit). I bet it's cute.
I hope Phil does do a liveshow this weekend! Technically the one on Tuesday was last week's, as odd (and awesome) as it feels to have two in one week. (Imagine saying that a couple of years ago! Sigh.)

I love knowing that Dan is practicing piano -- that has got to be a fulfilling and creative activity during this time period, and a good distraction -- and I'm hoping Phil is enjoying this soundtrack to his days I'm honestly surprised to see Dan back on social media but I do enjoy hearing from him.
In general, it has been interesting to see how artists and creatives are responding to all the changes in venues, funding, and schedules, beyond just the disappointment of upended plans. In the coming months I'll be very curious to see what long-term effects Covid has on the media landscape and on performers. Maybe some new funding or development models will come out of it.
*Also, praying Phil hasn't had his hair cut in his next live show*

I have a soft feeling just knowing Dan and Phil have Each Other during quarantine. The thought of them getting separated before a lockdown gives me chills; fetus Dan’s pining heart gives me second-hand loneliness to this day.

My first post here... Sorry it looks like this,im normally not that pessimistic, i swear!
(Mhm, not at all...) But i'll try my best to not be the one always complaining - actually i consider myself pretty easy to please, so it shouldnt be a problem at all) but anyway:
NEGATIVITY ALERT!
Yeah, exacty - talking. That's the biggest problem here- he's been talking like this since what, a year? Year and a half? Honestly, im just sick and tired of this bullshit at this point- most of my frustration is caused by a COMPLETE lack of communication(chicka chicka Slim Shady with my unintentional rhymes here) and disappearing for months without a word(i guess it's gotta be really hard to go ANYWHERE and type something like "Sorry, i have a lot of work and shit to do, im busy, may be going AWOL more often"(literally a few words) then vaguely mentioning something aboug a project and expecting people to care fof whatever he's doing. And let's be real, they probably will, but i aint one of them anymore. I probably wont even want to check it out if he drops anything(see how i used IF instead of WHEN? yes, because frankly,i dont even believe in any "secret mind blowing projects" anymore - we've been fed enough lies lately, i'll believe in it when i see it. Untill then - no project exist to me and he's unemployed, sitting at home doing basically nothing, at least in my head. And you may go ahead and tell me no one owes me anything, and you're a 100% righg - just like i dont owe them anything. Hence, i ran out of patience as a consumer - i just cant bring myself to be excited when i feel i've been treated like shit for a long,LONG time.
like i said, my first post here! if i hopefully dont get slaughtered for what i just wrote - hello there everyone, wassup?
[negativity alert lol]
I totally agree -- I would obvi be upset if Dan just came out and said "yeah I'm retired for now & I want to take my life in a different direction" but I would also respect that WAY more than what he's doing now, which is basically just like, stringing the benefits of his fame along (ie still reaping $$ off doing pretty much nothing) while not even giving the bare minimum of producing content. I honestly find most of his recent solo work (besides BIG) pretty cringy (for lack of a much better word) and I don't think I'd be excited at any kind of 'project' unless it involves joint content tbh.
I totally understand not wanting to bare your soul in the same way that he did for most of his 20s, but at the same time, like, I feel like the gaming channel was an ideal medium for them -- obviously we aren't watching it for the gaming, but at the same time having a video game or some other activity to focus on makes it so the content is not invasive, ie based around parts of their private life, and honestly, very low effort. Like, is playing a video game for an hour while making funny comments not worth the benefits in terms of an engaged audience?
Overall I guess, like, no one is obligated to put their life out there on the internet like that, but it feels very unfair for dnp to retain this mass amount of wealth & privilege & public influence without like ... giving something, y'know?

I think it was worth it until it wasn't anymore. You could tell that they cared less about dapg the last 6months/year compared to the years before, with not doing gamingmas, playing games like pong and just the overall seriousness of how they approached the gaming. They knew we weren't watching for the games and maybe what had once been a space for them to be less personality based entertainers had become just that. And maybe when they decided to take a break for Dan to be able to re-focus, they realized that they didn't miss the channel or everything that came with it?
It's also very possible that whatever Dan's working on won't be for us, his old audience. If he wants to branch out to a different, perhaps more mainstream audience, it makes total sense for him to distance himself from the old stuff.

I’m sure Dan would welcome new people being interested in his new content when it materialises, but I don’t really like the idea I’ve seen around that he’s somehow trying to consciously shuck off his old audience. I hope he thinks more of us than that, and I’d imagine he hopes his old audience would also be interested in the new things he does (some will, some won’t; that’s true of any creator who tries a new thing).

I don't think Dan is trying to shuck his old audience. What would that look like if he were? I'm genuinely curious to know people's thoughts on how he would do that.
I think he's moving in a new direction, and it's up to his audience to follow him--or not. People will follow him just because they miss his face, people will follow him because they really like his brand of humor and types of sketches, people will follow him because they feel they know him and are proud of how far he's already come and are interested in finding out what he'll do next. And no doubt people will follow him to continue to snipe and complain, because that's the particular relationship they have with Dan. I think Dan's happy to have all of us along for the ride, even the complainers, who I'm quite sure he's used to. And he also doesn't mind that people drop away: he spent years of his life courting his audience, and he's done with that. At least for now.

This whole post is how I feel.
I think it's very, very, very healthy for Dan - who has been guided and influenced by the desire to please an audience, this audience, since he was 18 - to be trying things out that aren't specifically catered toward 'giving the people what they want.'
I do think maybe II left him with some confidence that his audience loves and supports him and beyond that everything you said - I think he is happy if the youtube audience follows him but understanding if some people drop away. I don't see that as trying to specifically get a new audience so much as just spread his wings and fly a little. Try new things, like Mr. Amazing says.

Oh definitely. I do hope people still vote though - I hope Bernie makes that his strongest message now. To get out and vote anyway.

Random addition, in a way, I think there’s been a lot of turnover in the phandom over the years already. I’m mostly basing that on the phandom survey where about half were first-time takers of the second one. So they haven’t kept everyone forever anyway.

Phil is a. The funniest man alive
B. Confirmed to have good instincts in the kitchen, it's the chaotic energy that fucks with him and at this point I'm just gonna say Dan was the one to blame for their baking mistakes and it show$ (or the combo of their chaotic energies, still)
When he got the Bailey's out I got a flash of my long dream of a drunk video with Phil and I would honestly give him my life savings for that

That instant coffee had definitely been down in the filming apartment since they stopped doing gaming videos right? With the way he said it had been open for a while, that was my only thought lol.

I loved the video, I'm really glad Phil's chaotic kitchen moments weren't lost to us when joint content died. I love how is answer to it looking gross is MORE food colouring. I feel like the mistakenly ordering 1 KG of mini marshmallows interested of 100g was a story he made up for Dan.

Phil was a whole mess in his new video.. His poor laptop XD
I was so scared for his pristine light blue shirt, that coffee doesn't look like it comes off easily.
I am an avid coffee drinker but even I can admit Nescafe is awesome and would drink all day everyday.
That was so fun, just the pick me up I needed.

Phil's video was lovely. Classic Phil, all I could have asked for. (I say that about every Phil vid lately but they're just all that good? I love that cheery wholesomeness, especially in times like these.)
On another note, I have no idea what I think about Dan these days. Is there actually a big project that will drop at some point? Does he still care? Is he working on something or just sat at home enjoying the money he already has (valid tbh)? Who knows? So I'm basically in standby mode until we find out more about whatever he's planning because I just don't have the energy to be angry/sad/disappointed about the same damn thing anymore. I'm hoping for the best, I guess. Whatever happens, I'll judge it when it happens and until then I'll just chill.
I think I'll always like Dan. Can't help it, I've been in this fandom for way too long to just stop. I might not always like what he does but I do like him and I want to support him so much but like I said, I'll wait and see what he's gonna do and then decide.

Love how Phil has finally found a bag of marshmallows big enough for his habits and I was fully surprised they weren't already open
He is such a chaotic but adorable mess in this. I feel like the second drink was a bit of a success for him aha. With this video, the cake and animal crossing videos, Phil is definitely proving that these videos can be fun with just him. It's not got the banter of their relationship but I'm still enjoying this content not going to lie.
I think I need to try this coffee again. I tried but I gave up trying to whisk it. If Phil can do it, I can right? Right...

I loved that so much, his chaotic, creative, oops I spilled it everywhere energy is so lovely and funny. Apart from the sludgy green colour I thought they turned out great. I might try it with chocolate instead of coffee, cos I hate coffee and damn I wish I could do lactose cos the banana milk. Nesquik do banana and strawberry powders as well as chocolate if you don’t mind all the sugar. I love how he gets so into things and adds all the decorations, presents it well, at least until it overflows, I’ve always loved their enthusiasm for decorating with all the things and Phil’s enthusiasm is so good anyway. Love that he left his teeth pink and his mouth slightly smeared with frothy coffee at the end. Amazing how many times he managed to spill. He got away with the green froth just missing the keyboard, but the water, oops.

I watched a nerdy video about the frothy coffee because I tried it myself yesterday (short review: I liked it, but it is *very* sweet), and long story short you can only really get the same results with instant coffee specifically; even ground coffee won’t work because of the ... something to do with the foam. The video is here if you’re interested: https://youtu.be/WHmpgMsW-aA (the guy is the opposite of Phil coffee-wise and hates instant so wasn’t a fan until he used some bougie small batch stuff).
I’m ... not sure about banana coffee, even with chocolate, but I admit I’m really into the idea of adding things/new flavours. It’s such a Phil idea; like he could have just made the coffee and done an insta story or two but no, he made it so much more fun (and chaotic).
