It looks more like DnP are trying to copy the 'good' ones they already had.

I know this is such a random thing to wonder about and probably not really significant, but what do you guys think? And if someone else pre-made those biscuits, who do you think that could be? Is this something they've done with previous baking vids?

I think they practiced it beforehand. I think Dan's been kind of frustrated in the past about the things they make not actually turning out well and I can honestly see him wanting to bake something that just looked nice for once?

They also took a baking class last week with the make-a-wish kid, so I'm not surprised that they picked up a few actual tips for decorating. Phil putting the edge on the tulip made me think it was something he picked up from that. His bunny on that cake he did at the make-a-wish event also looked really cute and well done. That actually makes me think that part of Phil's issue with decorating things badly is nerves when the camera is on? Like he's a lot better when they're not filming because he's not got that adrenaline rush that makes his hands shake. Hence the ones they did as a test batch when it was just them ended up looking best.

Looks like Dan went home at some point. Also I wouldn't mind if he posted about 10 more dog photos tbh

I absolutely adored this prank comedy gold . I sadly couldn't watch the whole thing, but I checked in every 20 minutes or so just to read and participate in the chat (and of course for the hourly feedings ). It was actually rather intelligent, reminding me of some post-modern performance art where the audience elevates the piece insomuch to actually become the art itself - think 4'33" as a musical example. The longer it lasted the funnier it became, just due to the absurdity of it all - and made so much better because of the lack of pigeons, imo. I don't think it would have been nearly as funny as it was had there been many pigeons. I know I was crying from laughter by the end! It is certainly the best prank I've seen in a long time!

i don't know why people want that so bad? it's also pretty dangerous for some of the places they're going to (which are homophobic!!!) i seen comments saying that phil's gonna propose on stage... yikies. they don't milk their romantic relationship purposely for entertainment.

but obviously they have secret girlfriends, no doubt about that, they just hide them from us. it's why they needed a bigger place, for more girlfriend storage.

What do you think the phandom means when they chant "come out of the closet" in every comment of their videos? It's obviously an invite for their girlfriends to refuse to.hide, stand up for themselves and demand their right place under the spotlight!

I agree, it's super yikes. What pisses me off the most is that people seem to feel like they 'owe' a 'proper' coming out, which is terrible because hey, newsflash, queer people aren't here just for your entertainment or for you to police on how they are 'supposed to be' queer.

Though I guess as long as it's not actively harming anyone, I think it's best to just ignore it.

Also, like… people seem to assume Dan and Phil are under some insane pressure because they can’t come out or what and should just “get it over with” but… some people don’t feel the need to come out at all and they both strike me as such people. Please consider that maybe they’re happy without ever telling us about their relationship status because not all queer people actually feel the need to tell the world “HELLO I’M QUEER AND THIS IS MY BOYFRIEND”. It’s a shame that media makes it seem like coming out is such a big stepping stone to happiness for queer people when for many queer people it’s literally not important at all because, newsflash, our happiness doesn't depend on what other people think about us. (Obviously coming out and being accepted is super important for some people but it's just not true for everyone.)

Hey guys! I've lurked for a long time and never felt the need to post but I found the theory of them coming out before ii absurd so I wanted to quickly comment on that.

Besides it being dangerous in countries that have laws against homosexuality, there are parents taking their kids to these shows that would be beyond furious if they bought tickets and found out later that they were paying to see two men that are in a *gasp* homosexual relationship! I think that it's just a generally stupid theory. However, I like the idea of them being more open about their relationship after the tour.

Also, is anyone able to explain the 2 flat theory? I've pieced some of it together but I'd love to hear a more coherent explanation!

Hi I'm also a long time lurker and think I have the flat layout kind of figured out (without being creepy, just from their videos )because I hate it when I can't orient myself in any situation. I'll put it under the cut because I've seen people who are unconfortable with this discussion A lot of people have already kind of said the same as me but I'll just try to summarize it I hope this helps some of you

I've been sick with a kidney infection for the last few days so I've had a lot of rumination time when otherwise I wouldn't have had any.

Firstly: Easter Baking - solid video, biscuits looked pretty for once, not going to complain though I would've liked it to be about 15 minutes longer

Secondly: Pigeon Fest - iconic, clearly the best thing to happen to me in years, exactly the sort of content I want from Dan and Phil, I'm never going to complain about Dan uploading so infrequently that he could die tomorrow, have Phil take over his social media accounts, and it genuinely might take us until early May to notice.

Thirdly; my favourite topic, sexuality.

Like fuck are they going to come out before the tour. I honestly, and I mean this, will buy a hat, eat it, and stream the whole thing on YouTube, if they come out within the month. Without looking they're going to both Russia and India, which are two countries that are sketchy to be openly queer in. It also would make very little sense for them to come out BEFORE the tour, what purpose would it serve? Theres nothing necessarily appropriate about the tour being about sexuality, I interpreted the CAH answer to be more about their being forfeits for 'losers' during the show.

I know sexuality is sort of more at the forefront of everyones minds after a few comments (cheeky bum sex, things going in and out of my mouth, tbf the whole of Dans last video and then the following YouNow which I actually really enjoyed) but I think that might be part of them trying to attract a more young adult audience, as opposed to tweens. Although, the strong vibe that I personally got from Dans last video is that he probably wont ever 'come out', because its not necessary. I personally never had a big 'coming out' moment - I just lived my life, and when I had a boyfriend, I had a boyfriend, and now I've got a girlfriend, I've got a girlfriend. If you ask me questions about it, I'll be honest, and I'll express frustration at being called a lesbian, but a big announcement isn't something that is needed becuase its a social construct of a 'rite of passage', which is something I am trying to actively reject in my everyday life. Back to my point, I think the biggest confrimation we will ever get from Dan is that video. Not from him saying he's having regular sex, not even from that being open to interpretation, but from the underlying message which is essentially; he's just living his life, and we need to let him live it. He's not going to hide himself, but equally he's not going to offer up every scrap of his life to be microanalysed. And who the fuck needs labels anyway, like the only labels I actively like applying to myself are vegetarian (because to me thats an active choice to live my best life), and millenial - purely because I find it amusing that we get blamed for everything. I am fully behind Dan not labelling his sexuality, because I find it very validating to my OWN personal choice, which I sometimes feel very alone in. (which is also why this video is probably my favourite Dan video of all time, next to Depression)

Do I think D&P are queer. Wholehartedly. Do I think they're together. Yes. Do I think they'll tell us pre-tour. No, because they have a fucking tour to focus on. Do I think they might tell us afterwards, yes. Esepcailly because I think they'll be moving again soon.

Something I'm more interested about is that my perception of their sexualities has inverted, for the longest time I was CONVINCED that Dan was bi, and Phil was gay. Now, and I dont know why, I'd be willing to bet money on Dan being gay and Phil being bi. I have no idea what changed that in my head, but I can't unthink it.

Fourthly; I realised that I'm meeting Dimple and Back-Egg next month, in precisely 6 weeks, I'm not ready. How am I going to look them in the eye. I'm low-key panicking about it.

Dan: I have anxiety about my reputation online as some kind of joke, content quality threshold, etc.

Ugh, I would love another Fornite video so much. I’ve played it all of once (wasn’t as scary as I thought and I came 6th by going nowhere near anyone for ages, but got caught out by the poison cloud and managed to get out, but then my health was very low and I was easily sniped from seemingly nowhere). Also watched Jack, DanTDM and NihongoGamer play it, so seen enough general playing. Deps again, especially Phil on his own, would be so good.

I have an in-the-wild encounter. Not long after I became a fan, I did a coding course and briefly thought I’d actually change career before nerves and not getting or liking JavaScript enough stopped me so I did some networking and one woman I met, who I’d followed on Twitter, tweeted something about a water-related thing in the news with a gif of our boys by the Krave Challenge swimming pool in their dinosaur and lion onesies. I did a freaking double-take from it to her name, realising she was a coder and not in the phandom. Worlds. Collided. So weird.

I’ve watched the baking video a few times more as it turns out I like it almost as much as any other and my theory for the weird feeling is mostly down to Dan being less sparky and the bigger kitchen. Monster Pops aside, the best baking video and one of their best ever together has to be Pumpkin Spiced Pumpkin Cookies. Maybe it’s cos they filmed it the night before their Halloween Tatinof shows and the tour was loosening them up, but it’s the most seemingly-effortless sparky video, the bants bounce off each other so fast. I watched that every day for a week. Also Phil was extra-beautiful in it (the quick effect hasn’t worn off yet just now either, I kept watching him in the new one just like the CAH video).
