What if we had a hashtag on Twitter, so that people who lurked could follow along and we could find each other?

I think it would be best if you guys made a new thread? It's quiet in here right now but when we get content again, it will be difficult to keep an overview.

I love the ideas everyone is sharing! I agree that rabbit might not be the best only because that wouldn't actually give Dan and Phil any extra views, but besides that I'm game to join in however this ends up happening. I think the timestamp idea is really cool even if it just ends up being one facet of a group rewatch, that would definitely allow for a more universal experience time-zone wise.

It might work best to keep it here until there's new content, than to move it right now. As soon as it hits a new thread anyone who only checks the forum every few days and/or only checks the main thread will never know it exists. (I do agree with you though, once there's new content planning on here would be hard to maintain planning in the main thread as well as content discussion.)

I'm proper excited about this now! I would definitely be up for rewatching Spooky week or Halloween baking up until Halloween.

And in the meantime, let me remind you of the timestamp subforum! If you have some time to kill and the urge to rewatch something, you can pick a video thread with 0 or few replies and do some timestamps. It's always fun to read others timestamps, I always forget things or don't notice things that other people notice.

I think this is a great idea! That way people can comment on random things and maybe we can have a more discussion focus here?

A hashtag is a great idea! What we need to decide on is if we're keeping the first watch party here on IDB, or if we want to advertise it on twitter/insta/tumblr and see how many people we can get. Then we can proceed accordingly

Should we aim for sometime next weekend or the one after that, or do we need more time? (13-14 Oct or 20-21, the latter would be nice because it's close to phanniversary!)

I like the idea of it happening at a set time on Sat/Sunday and I say this as an Aussie who it undoubtedly will fall at a weird time for, because unity. But maybe two times could be good though, then it'd be convenient for everyone. I don't think more than that. And heck yea we should have a hashtag.

As for what video, I feel like not a pinof because those are already wildly rewatched, I was thinking more like forgotten treasures which need more love. Should be up to everyone, though, we should do a shortlist thread then a poll.

I think we could do this for the 13-14 weekend! If we wanted to do a forum-only test run, we could try that this weekend?

it might be a good idea to do a test run w just the idb people to see how it works and how it differes from what we already do. timezones are our biggest enemy here. weekends are good but there might be people who work irregular days so it might be a good idea to pick one week day too.

i wanna suggest doing the test run this week end; pick one viddy to rewatch and we can discuss here and for the phaniversarry week we can pick something special.

or we can go with the "on sunday we watch:______" where everyone can start watching it whenever and if anyone wanted to comment about a specific moment as they watch, instead of doing a whole timestamp post, they could just do something on a smaller scale???

it might be slightly harder to coordinate a time to watch at the same time, so this can be a good alternative.

tldr; im starting to think of this as a book club now where every week we discuss different books videos, lol

I was looking at what some of their lower viewed videos are just to see what might not be on people's frequent re-watch lists already. Among the dapg videos that are at least a year old, "FAST AND FURRYOUS! - Dan and Phil play: Sonic Mania" has the lowest viewcount at just under 800k. If we're at a video nomination stage, I nominate that one! It has a lot more Phil gameplay than usual.

Also among lower viewcounts are some of the gaming livestreams and one of the dragon spon games. but I don't nominate the dragon spon game.

We could also go the completely opposite direction and watch something like their most popular by viewcount or the most popular in the phandom surveys.

I'm not sure if we will be ready for this weekend as we will need to vote on videos to watch. We could do our test run on the 13-14th, what do you all think? This test run will be IDB only, no posts on social media, but we could use a hashtag for those that want to? (I'm not opposed to this weekend btw just not sure if we have enough time! and of course picking a weekday is fine by me too)
The way I see it right now, is we could pick a time for most people to gather (those that can), and maybe a second time for a second group with a different time zone? But the thread would be open for a whole day (and longer I suppose) so that everyone that came in later can still discuss the videos.

We could agree to start the video say, 15 minutes after the time we gather, so that everyone has time to start. And we'll post our thoughts either in real time (multiple posts) or all in one post, I don't think we should set rules for that.

For videos - how many videos do we want to watch? 2-3? With the same theme or different themes? We'll make a poll later and watch what has the most votes, I guess?

How does this sound to you all for the first run?

i like that idea @Ablissa. how about instead, this weekend we can keep suggesting videos to watch and then compile them all into a poll. shortlist it into top 3 or top 2 most voted depending on how many videos we wanna watch.

maybe make a playlist on the IDB youtube channel and we can all watch it together on the same day! not sure if someone already suggested this. call it "IDB watch party [date]" or something. that way they'll get all of the views and ads played.

But maybe someone should write everything down that we have said and agreed on so far? So we have something to go of on. And when we bring in new people everyone says the same thing of how it works.

I'm going to do that! We will probably have to move this to a separate thread when the boys do something (hi, is this dan and phil, can we have a live show please, kthxbye), so everything will be written down there

@ame that's exactly what I thought, let's make a vote for a list of videos and then a poll on which ones to watch!

Boys, please do a liveshow tonight. Also please tell us where/how you’re releasing the movie. I’m mushed from editing over 100 pages today and yesterday (so much more to go) and my back’s in bits (can’t move much, hurts), or I wouldn’t ask. I wonder if they know by now, considering they’ve edited it and recorded commentary, you’d think they’d have that info ready to go.

I’ve gone back to lurking for a long time but I’d love to be more involved in the phantom again, so I’m looking forward to the watch parties!
Not sure if I’ll be able to participate at the exact time because I’m really busy every day but I’d like to at least join the discussion later on and share some thoughts!
