Kidding aside, I have been wondering about this. It's been almost 24 hours since Dan changed his header. I was surprised that Phil didn't change at the same time. Don't they always make the switch together?

Ooh yes - Phil pretty much told us in advance what he was doing but I am not disappointed. That art is fantastic and the header is adorable!

Why was I so pleasantly surprised the art had him with a quiff? That mask has always freaked me out, but damn he still looks good. ‘Pre-Order the special edition Interactive Introverts Blu-ray and DVD or I will eat your liver.’ Yes, Capita£ector! I didn’t even make the vore equation, covering those kinks

I remembered shortly after posting this morning that I had any even better DnP last night. Dan was working on a music video with Dodie, sadly I don’t think he was singing, but he co-wrote the song, co-directed it and maybe was playing the piano (and Phil had an editing credit). It was about different kinds of love and they had clips of different couples: lesbians, gay guys, couples with non-binary people, trans people, asexual people (depicted with different levels or intimacy, some couples kissed, some cuddled, some hugged, some held hands) and the surprise addition at the end was a clip of Dan and Phil either gaming or watching a show and eating pizza on the couch, not really touching, but still sat close together, still denitely a couple, but it was left vague as to what kind, and there was already a representation of platonic life partners so, I was just like YES! Then I was suddenly ‘skating’ barefoot around a frozen pond so idk

Eta: of course I’m a public embarrassment now.

That game is so bad and not very scary, but I liked the bants. I was surprised by another mention of Phil making a mess, what is this about, Dan? And they were quite funny overall, especially Phil with "never google extreme granny"
They also went all out with the decorations this year! I'm so happy we have four more days of daily videos and I'm already crossing my fingers for Gamingmas to happen this year too.

edit: I also liked all the grandma/grandparents mentions.

Does anyone else just re-watch the same 10 second segments like 15 times whenever a new video comes out? I've only gotten 40 seconds in because I keep being like 'what was the movement in the background? That other thing was funny I need to see it 6 times to properly appreciate how funny it was. Wait, now something cute has happened, must watch 19 times.'

I can vouch that the first 40 seconds are freaking great.

Please say they got their crappy app game kicks out of the way early and from here on out they play like, actual games they're both interested in? My biggest issue with spooky week always ends up being this. I know that the whole field of 'scary things you can play in under half an hour' is slim but I'd literally rather them pull out an actual Playstation 1 game for some retro fun than a low quality shitty flash-or-app game that Dan seems done with before they even properly start.

That said, at the end of the day, I'm here for the bants above all and they were still cute. Seconding the appreciation for the grandparents mentions, and generally just all the teasing. I think my favorite was "She's ready to come out? Granny's a lesbian."

I'm happy that Spooky Week is here.

I enjoyed watching them play the game. The bants were fun and I am not going to lie, I got jump scared twice and that is really all I want from spooky week.

Looking forward to tomorrow's vid.

I enjoyed the video but then again i get spooked easily, so... too bad it was relatively short, I would've liked 20 minutes of them banting and crapping their pants (or better, Dan crapping his pants because of the game and Phil crapping his pants because of Dan)

Same. It was a crap game that they were crap at, but I still had a few laughs. Somehow Dan’s droning on about the meaningless of existence being interrupted by Phil’s “but there’s pumpkins!” with a pumpkin straight to Dan’s face was my favorite thing.

That and Dan telling Phil to stop having fun, that it wasn’t the meaning of the season and the perfectly in sync “‘‘tis the season to be spooky” “muahahaha haha ha ha”. It’s just the epitome of Doom and Gloom Howell having fun with his buddy Light Hearted Lester and it feels good

Phil was so freaking adorable in this one, he looks so cute and getting scared by Dan’s scream as usual. Game seemed tricky, I’m not sure how you’re meant to open the door. I love all their decorations, the pumpkin chain, the couch coffins and the chair tape. Very immersive spooking. Good scream from Dan too. Interesting strict granny stories, it’s funny to hear them reminisce about that.

Edit - oh yes, pumpkin to the face bit was hilarious. Good shot, Phil.

idk why i replayed the steak in the toilet part, but i did and had a good laugh. also "Granny's a lesbian" lmao i like how Gay comes to his mind when dan hears "coming out." (doesn't it with all of us, though?)

they were adorably close at the end and dan talking about a messy phil always makes me smile. even though i live with messy family members and it drives me insane, i imagine it's much cuter when it's phil that you're living with.

i really hope they bring out an actual gaming console some time this week because apps don't bring the full experience when it's a spooky game most of the time. i'm hoping for more VR !!!

edit: i see my ranking is slenderman. i was slenderman for halloween in 7-8th grade (i forget) and was a part of the school's haunted house! both the costume and haunted house sucked, but it was fun.

Even though I’m not crazy about the app games I’m happy that they were in such a good mood. Phil was so funny throughout the whole video and I also loved Dan when he stopped being so serious. As long as they keep delivering on the good bants and the silly mood then I’ll be satisfied. if they play Sims I take back everything I just said

I appreciate the decoration and got high hopes for spooky week but damn, how do they even find these terrible games.
I found Dan's existential joke a bit stale and saying (spending time with) Phil is the true horror not once but twice was one of those things that made me feel the video was a bit heavy on brand.

that was very cute. loved phil being cheeky, and i don't usually like watching dan on the gaming channel (please don't crucify me) because he screams too much but he's really toned it down, so i really enjoyed this!

i know it's a crappy app game that they're crappy at, but those are often lowkey my favourites (as long as it's not a weird spon that i doubt they actually play - Food Fantasy?) because they both just chat through the entire thing and the focus is nearly all bants as there's not much gameplay to focus on.

I stopped having high(ish) hopes for Spooky Week a while ago tbh. I fully expect them to spookify a Sims episode since it's been a while since the last one...

This game was really bad, but the bants were pretty great. Phil sharing his wisdom about never searching for 'extreme granny' with us? Gold. They seemed to be in a good mood, let's hope it lasts.

Since living with Phil is the true horror (according to mister danyiff howl) I vote Spooky Week gets replaced with a week of DITLs so that we can see all those horrors.

i don't really like the game, even tho it actually managed to jump scare me at the end!
but i think the game was frustrating : what are you meant to do to get out? was going to the basement the right way?
but phil was cute and sweet and dan was funny and sassy so i'm here for it
