I was fully scared the whole time, not because of the jumpscares but the atmosphere. It was so creepy, and dark. It reminded me a lot of outlast.
What a great ending of the spooky week, kudos to them for playing this game (I could never, tbh)
I wish they would make a series of it, the argument seems interesting and I'd be lying if I said that I don't want to see more of their reactions at the jumpscares hahah (phil was specially cute ).

A series would be to nerve-wrecking for me. I'd rather they give us some banter and fondness in a more relaxing setting like Dream Daddy They do so few series though, they're nothing like most gaming channels in that respect so we'll just have to count on Phil trying to jumpscare Dan for the sake of it when Halloween is long gone

I have pretty much the same concerns. On one hand, I'm super excited, on the other I'm slightly worried that this element of challenge will take something away from the usual greatness of baking videos. I trust them to make it at least very funny though.
I would die for festive baking. If they don't do gamingmas, we need to beg them to do it.

I hope they will post the video on Tuesday, as I feel like all this content at once is making me dizzy and unable to catch up. Last week they posted something every single day, I can't believe it.
I also need to catch up on Stranger Things. My brother finished watching it yesterday and I can tell that he's about to burst and spoil me everything, so I can't risk putting it off for much longer lol.

Yesterday's video was good, I'm glad they stepped up their game and went for an actually spooky game, even though I was still not scared at all. All in all, I think it's been a good week.
If I had to pick my favorite video, I'd say golf because it was so... "extra", as the kids would say.

Dan saying Phil is the eyebleach was too cute and I thought the only interpretation was that Phil is just as adorable as kittens, but then someone suggested that what Dan meant is that Phil is too pale and white. Idk.. I'm gonna go with the first option just because I can.

As a non-phannie, I did notice that directly and did freak out a little. It does sound suspect, because the only way that "our room" makes sense if he self-identifies at the spot with the male character at the time and his wife...
which is probably just what explains it, but it does feel out of tone. Half a minute before that, Dan was joking about how he liked to go slow to enjoy the aesthetic of the game "as a player". Plus phil just got Danny by pointing out the unintentional "aTIEre" pun he made. So to switch from that in an instant to the perspective of the dad. Noticeable :mrgreen:

But if you kind of look at it in a more detached way there's really no strong case here to suggest he must be signalling their relationship. I feel this is the same as with a lot of the phan "evidence". Just speculation and reading a lot into certain cues and situations you don't have enough context and facts about to verify.

It's certainly cute though

I didn't think this was evidence/sounded suspect at all when I watched the video! It sounded to me as though the 'our' was him and Phil, but in the context of them both being the character. So if he had been playing alone he would have said 'this must be my room' but because they were playing together it became 'this must be our room'.

I think this was their best Spooky Week ever tbh, in terms of consistently entertaining videos. Last year the videos seemed kind of..... empty or something? A bit dull? But this year they were all pretty great, regardless of the level of scariness. I actually think Golf was my fave, just because their chemistry really shone in it. It took me a while to warm to them given how upset I was by the whole Felix thing (and still am, I'll never forget/forgive them), but I did enjoy them all. I also think they struck a good balance of non-scary versus actually-scary games and managed to upload something for everyone, although weirdly I wasn't particularly scared of any, which is strange as I'm such a coward when it comes to horror.

Also excited for the baking vid, but their frequent uploads are not helping me at all with all my uni assignments due this week smh

Language is fascinating and I could definitely write a long paragraph about meaning and inferred meaning and subtext and how people can interpret the same words in vastly different ways but I'm at work so I won't I will say that I often interpret the things D&P say in a different way to other people in the Phandom though so it'd be interesting to see how others weigh in on 'our' bedroom. I think 'our' and 'we' in the context of their future plans is much more loaded and interesting than this though. And I also don't think that D&P are particularly careful with their language either (anymore, at least) and might sometimes make offhand comments that really don't mean anything but which we analyse to death - but that's part of the fun of being in a fandom!

So I don't know if any of you actually care but I've been kkeeping up with the drama on Twitter about those accounts making prediction and pretending they have inside info. The most recent one is actually pretending to be Dan with a secret account, tweeting all sorts of things and tbh being kinda rude to the people tweeting. I'm not sure if I'm more concerned about the people behind the account or the people tweeting them believing it's actually Dan having a fandom breakdown. They're saying it's like the customerservice blog of 2012, saying Phil isn't happy with the account etc

It's kinda entertaining lol (they also lurk here, they posted screenshots of some of our posts)

I do not think a single person on here took 'our bedroom' as anything related to Dan and Phil's relationship. Enoying them saying a phrase regardless of context =/= arguing it's proof of anything or analyzing it!

And fuck Dan, I'm gonna be refreshing his twitter all day long to see if the baking video drops today and I have a gut feeling that if they really just planned a day off that it won't come until tomorrow. Unless this really was a bluff and they have something new that they didn't tell us about planned for actual Halloween, and that's why they're being so strangely open about the baking video plot twist.

Nah. "Eyebleach" is literally a term meaning something cute/nice to relax a person after seeing something bad, I think it's used on reddit a lot, and probably elsewhere. That person saying it's because of Phil's paleness is reaching and you don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Wait, how long ago was that "eleven days" thing? Still curious what they'll come up with for entertainment reasons. Also I'm still fascinated by the amount of people who really believe Dan would make some weird anonymous Twitter acount to go off on the phandom. I'm pretty sure there are things he's not happy with but he's 26 years old and a professional Youtuber, if he truly wanted to criticise the phandom for some of their shit I'm sure he'd find a better way to do it.

Spooky week was amazing but I'll be honest, I'm too scared to watch the stream and the last video. I don't know what it is about horror games that gets me because I never have problems with horror films. I'm really excited for Halloween baking though.

Re baking, I am anticipating it being sillier than last years, but after the golfing video last week, I’m ok with sacrificing a tiny bit of sexual humor for just general hilarity. Honestly, I don’t know what to expect. It could go the way of the three legged ddr challenge, or it could be just a hilarious disaster, or it could be a sexual hilarious mess. Fingers crossed they upload it today! I’m still hoping for a creepy Halloween crafts video but I don’t think that’s happening.

The 11 days thing is supposed to be on November 4th, but The account that tweet ed that is currently silent. This their one instead is really tweeting and asking questions as if it's Dan, saying that "phan was once real but then it didn't work" and that the phandom is bad bc of the shippers lol

The thing that makes me go maeh about it is that it started tweeting that they were having a bad time and everyone believed it was Dan so they started going on about his depression. It would be kinda entertaining otherwise

re baking: I honestly cannot wait. I can't believe we live during a time where it's n actual possibility that they will wear a conjoined twins sweater basically staying glued to eeach other for an entire video and it's gonna be uploaded on Dan's channel. I mentioned this earlier, but I'm really sticking to it and agreeing with you. I think there'll be something extra this spooky week and idk what it is. The timing of the whole thing has been weird and they've definitely been way too open about all things baking, making it a given. (Historically, that was the surprise in 2015 & 2016.)

And given the scheduling of it for (ideally) today... what's tomorrow? What's our spooky week surprise?

Twitter drama: I can't escape the feeling that people who genuinely think Dan would be is some kind of group that has all these secrets that they are going to reveal about D&P and now is using a secret account himself are either very young or not the brightest crayon in the box. They can have their fun making sassy remarks, blowing the whole thing hugely out of proportion and blocking each other. I just think it's mostly funny how these "fan vs the revealers" battles play out, it's like they engage in some weird sort of attention circle jerk and my only concern is that from an outsider POV, it could make everyone who likes Dan and Phil look stupid by association.

Baking vid I can feel the excitement and expectations rising across social media. Looks like some people are almost expecting them to melt into one I'm excited too, their baking vids are among the vids I most enjoy.

Dan saying "why use four hands if you can use two" coupled with all the expectations made me involuntarily think of a hilarious scene from The Naked Gun :mrgreen: (scene under spoiler)

In order to celebrate the upcoming baking video I just rewatched all of their previous baking vids in chronological order and so I wondered..does anybody know why there wasn't a baking video in 2013? Starting with the pancake vid in 2011 they did at least 1 baking video each year except 2013. Was there a known reason for this?

I actually thought it would be uploaded tomorrow because it's Martyn's birthday so I assumed they would be out celebrating. I'm guessing Dan will tweet a generic tweet today and then answer in a reply to someone if he is going to be uploading.

I don't really know. Maybe they couldn't find a recipe. I remember dan saying in his live show that he wasn't sure about baking this year until he came across a recipe that he really liked. On a similar note is there never going to be a day in the life this year. There has at least been one since 2012. There have been so many opportunities for one as well. I'm sort of hoping that the reason we haven't gotten one is because they are going to make "a year in our lives" where they show bits of Singapore, of them moving, in Spain, maybe even Isle of Man, etc.

Thanks for the reply! A "a year in our lives" video would be great but I'm afraid it will not happen. BUT didn't Phil say in a liveshow that they are going to film the making of this years calendar? So we will get a mini ditl sometime this year, better than nothing, eh?

spooky week: I really enjoyed it this year! I thought last night's game would be incredibly terrifying if I played it by myself but as it was, I was mostly fine if slightly grossed out. The Jason game sounds like it could be fun, although I'd personally be really annoyed at the teleportation thing.
But overall these were some very solid choices in games with top notch banter, well done boys

Baking: I'm so excited for the new baking video. Can't wait to see what they thought up this year. I also hope they haven't accidentally set the kitchen on fire.

Isn't spooky week supposed to be videos on 6 days leading up to Halloween? So Oct 31st is a thing in itself, and there's no upload on actual Halloween (unless they postpone baking). Idk to me that makes sense and I don't expect anything else.

Enjoyed all spooky videos, except the D vs P one (I just didn't get that game). Wasn't spooked, but their chemistry is though the roof recently.
