Adrian was 15 in 2012, so that would make him 19 now. I remember this because one of the reasons that fangirls started harassing him the first place was because he was cute like Dan, but was actually the same age as them so they thought they had a chance with him. I even remember seeing an Adrian Howellxreader fic on Tumblr. Those were truly dark and regrettable times. It must be even more annoying to get harassed by your brother's underage fans as an adult.

In other news, Dan's hair has been looking flatter and flatter in all of these m&g photos. It almost... looks wrong. I'm not used to the bump not being there.

it might just be flatter by the end of the m&g too since they keep getting asked to wear hair accessories, hats, beanies, etc. I imagine these two def try to fix their hair after those which means fringe deflation. (I like his hair in the picture above though )

Re: Lurkingtrash that's one of my favorite videos they're natural chemistry always comes out in Dan vs.Phil but they were just so supportive and adorable in this. I really miss the game banter that isn't scripted but flowed with their natural chemistry and quirks. I feel like what we get now is a contrived version of what we got when the gaming channel started and it breaks my heart.

The boys are lucky in the fact that they have a very loyal fanbase that will enjoy almost everything and that they themselves play off each other really well and have that "it" factor as a duo, what saddens me is that they aren't cultivating it. We can defend them all we want but the boys are giving the bare minimum in terms of content to the viewers. Yes we can understand that they are touring but on the other hand filming a gaming video should not take half a month I feel like now more than ever is the prime time to attract viewers to their channels yet they are not doing that? Makes me wonder if DP really have become comfortable in the niche fanbase that's the Phandom.

I feel you, their Dan vs Phil is my favorite 'series' of the gaming channel even if the undertale series has been amazing for providing us with such long videos I'm not a gamer myself, barely know how to hold a gaming controller so and their bants are the only reason I watch all of it.

But at the end of the day I'm a hopeful trash can that believes they will post even more after the tour when they won't be busy planning a tour/writing a book anymore.

I really wish they would put out more content tho, they are truly missing on having so much more by not uploading more consistently, they do have a something special that make so much people be loyal to them (god knows why I love them so much, because I don't really know myself, I just know that I do ), it kinda worries me too of what will happen in the future (who knows what direction youtube is going) if they don't step up and enlarger their fanbase / branch out from youtube because they sure are comfortable on where they are now and that makes me chew through my nails.

Don't be sorry! You actually voiced a lot of my concerns better than I ever could, I know some of us will stick with them forever but I wish they would step up their game soon. One of my biggest fears (prepare yourself, I'm opening my heart here) is how them together(as in: their chemistry) and this whole phan mystery is what attracts a big part of their following, so for all that I want to know about the existence or not of phan I really fear that without this attractive if they ever come out or go live separately they will have to change a lot to keep afloat and not fade into obscurity even if they keep their loyal fans.

Definitely on the bus then... longest drive of the tour? Plenty of time for editing...

I get the feeling that their audience is getting larger and larger (mostly catering Tumblr users, it seems) and that they try harder to connect with them by answering Twitter messages and being really nice when encountered on the street BUT at the same time I can't help but compare them to bigger Youtubers and their way to interact with fans, and conclude that Dan and Phil are somewhat slacking.

I find specially remarkable Markiplier's methods: replies in all social networks he's in, often makes videos exclusively to read Youtube comments, has spent +8 hours in Omegle to greet fans, does live shows for charities AND he manages to upload at least one video a day, no matter what.

As much as I love D&P I don't think I'd want this much content from them. Surely there'd be a dip in quality, and even if they managed to maintain quality, I think we'd be over-saturated with content and it would feel less special.

Tbh I think we need something in the middle. More than we are having right now during the tour but not as much as people like Mark and Jack. This place would explode if we had that much content every day.
I just want what we had back. Liveshows every Tuesday and Sunday and a video from any channel a week! More on their gaming channel would be great though!

i completely agree with the fears that their youtube career is going to fizzle out.
lots of people are already getting bored with the samey content put out by older channels and are looking for new, fresh, younger people to watch. they're really gonna have to step up their content or branch out onto different projects & platforms to appeal to the masses, otherwise in five years nobody will care anymore.
tbh it's amazing deppy have managed to stay relevant for this long, particularly when they seem quite a bit older than their teenage twitter/tumblr fanbases. i think it's partly the mystery surrounding which keeps people interested and their fanbase dedicated
(because god knows it's not the consistent upload schedules)

I find specially remarkable Markiplier's methods: replies in all social networks he's in, often makes videos exclusively to read Youtube comments, has spent +8 hours in Omegle to greet fans, does live shows for charities AND he manages to upload at least one video a day, no matter what.

Somewhat slacking? You are too nice. They are very slacking. I don't expect them to upload daily but at least upload weekly, they have 3 channels, 2 gaming videos 1 each for their own channel is not that much to ask.

And it helps if they stop "promising" us with things that not gonna happen.

I agree with all of this. Their upload schelude is what pisses me off the most about them. They could easily upload meaningless videos on their 2nd channels without sticking to their personas at 100%, I don't ask them to vlog their daily lives but vlogging for time to time won't hurt them. Especially when they are touring like right now. And for the gaming channel they could as well upload regularly if they really wanted to but I guess they are just lazy sometimes.

I'm sure they work hard by their own standards but their standards are kinda fucked, tbh. If they really are busting ass doing behind the scenes stuff then they should recognize that the content - the backbone of their very fan-oriented career - is suffering and figure out how to hire out some of the grunt work so they can focus more on front end stuff. And if they're already hiring out bts stuff (to some extent, just in terms of letting management handle correspondences and project details) then they really have no excuse. They do have a stressful job, but a lot of people have stressful jobs and still have to get their job done without the freedom to more or less set their own schedule, and get compensated way, way less than deppy for the workload. I just don't have much sympathy for them being too tired/lazy/etc to plan ahead or mismanaging their time.

I mean editing could not be that difficult for them, could it ? They don't use special effects or anything . And I agree that the gaming channel should be at least uploaded once a week (or twice if we're lucky ) especially when they are doing games like undertale that need to be uploaded regularly so we don't lose track of the story (which happened for me when they uploaded their last undertale video)is that sentence even english ? I don't know anymore
