The new video was pretty good!
Every time I watch one of their quick draw videos I want to play it for several hours so brb (that's the power of advertising)

To add to the older fans discussion I might be the oldest yet (to admit my age) at 40! I don’t feel any different to when I was 25 though (sadly I look it) so it’s no surprise to me I like the same type of stuff now as I did then.
Can’t imagine going to see them on tour though, people would be looking round for the child I didn’t bring![]()

they were especially adorable in that video. and the blindfolded one. i don't know if my phan goggles are on too tight or what but wow. their chemistry and domesticity are on another level lately. the post-post-baking universe is real.

I saw TATINOF and loved it. Unfortunately I procrastinated way too long before buying tickets as I was worried about being the only ancient person there so the only seats left were waaaay at the back but I'm still glad I went. I wouldn't go to a m&g though.
I have this weird fantasy scenario half formed in my head where they do a kind of mini-con tour. I'm imagining that the new management company would help them organize a bunch of youtubers who are popular locally to wherever the venue is and they do a m&g followed by them moderating a panel discussion on some interesting topic in each venue. Then any other youtubers who share their management company would also join part of the tour. Like maybe Tom would join them for Europe and Nicki & Sammy would join them for East Asia etc. They could ticket it a bit like TATINOF where you pay to see the panel and then you can get VIP tickets for m&gs. If the M&G was before the panel and only VIP ticket holders got in it would avoid the mayhem of the big cons.
Like I said, it's only a half-formed idea. It would be really difficult to organize. But it would be cool.

The vid was so adorable!!!
and i'm pretty indifferent towards Hazel, I know a lot of people say she acts pretentious and above everything and it's annoying, but honestly, I attend a pretty art heavy university and I've grown immune to that kind of thinking so it doesn't really bother me. She's kinda funny.
I agree!! The vibe was so relaxed and I felt content because I felt that they were content if that makes any sense? I still haven't made up my mind on what I think the Friday announcement is gonna be, but whatever they're planning, they're excited and happy about it. And I feel okay and happy about that.AroboticPhil wrote: Wed Nov 08, 2017 9:58 pm I'm usually not the biggest fan of quickdraw but this one was so great![]()
They had such a special energy in it ? Like they were radiating happiness (and gravitating towards each other so much), especially Phil, he was just delightful I don't know how else to describe it. I couldn't not focus on him, I LOVE him when he's hyped on sugar/love/happiness or whatever that was.
I was in need of cheering up tonight and this vid did the job so well.

Knowing that there are quite a few fellow mature fans in IDB has made my day (I'm also in the 40s club)! I'm definitely going to try and get tickets to whatever event they're planning...my teenage daughter will hopefully ensure that I behave appropriately
Loved the Quick Draw video but missed half of it due to my other daughter having hysterics about the 4-legged flamingos. Will watch again now that she's asleep

All of the age discussion has got me wondering if we're going to have another IDB survey. It's been just over a year and I want to know if the demographics have changed at all (plus I wasn't here for the last one)

I totally agree. I’m 46 and I would never go to see them on my own for the same reasons. And I would never go see them in person for fear of being laughed at for my age. I'll just enjoy them from afar.
Loved the new video - it was really funny. That last pic really did look like a washing machine. I think Phil was robbed....

That would be me, my 16 year old introduced me to Dan and Phil and now I'm a bigger Phan than she is....she wanted to go to Tatinof but at the time I was like, I'm not spending money on a ticket for you and your friends to go see some YTers & then about 4 months later, I was HOOKED on them. It's funny, I bought the DAPGO book, their calendar last year and my daughter looked at me when the puppy one came out and said, let me guess mom, you're gonna get that one too!! I can absolutely guarantee she wouldn't go to a tour now so the tables have turned.bantstrash wrote: Wed Nov 08, 2017 9:45 pm I loved that.

I'll be 40 on Christmas Day and I don't act it, I don't feel it and some say I don't look it - which of course I'm ok with. I hate how we as older Phans feel like the odd ones out bcuz most of DNP phans are younger but we appreciate good, wholesome content when there is so much BS content not only on YT but TV as well. Not to mention they are both such beautiful people how could anyone not adore them - no matter how old
Oooooooooo this is interesting!!! Like "vidcon on the go" or something, more organized and lowkey (well what is lowkey where DnP fans are involved lol) since it'd be a smaller event and this way fans could have more time with them. I don't think I'd go since meeting them would be kinda surreal and I'm at a stage in my life where I don't have the means to pay but this sounds like a cool opportunity for everyone!bluntedclaws wrote: Wed Nov 08, 2017 10:15 pm

The video was so good like? I really liked it. The ending made me roll my eyes a bit, it was so silly but as someone said already, it's seems like a post-post-baking universe, where it's all just puppies and domestic banter. I'm okay with that tho. Good year 2k17, can't wait for pinof (even if i don't really care about them).

I think the discussion about the ages of people on this website is really fascinating - and I know there are lots of older teenagers and adults on here. So, I was wondering about the opposite! I'm fourteen, and I generally feel that most people on this site are older than me. Which is awesome because the discussion/general maturity level here is basically the only part of the phandom I can tolerate. But I was just curious - how many 12-15-year-olds actually use IDB?

It's so nice to see that there are so many older fans on here! At 29 I just assumed I was the eldest by about 4 years or so, but it's great to read that there are others in their late 20s/30s and 40s (and even beyond!?). Am wondering how the older fans found/got into D&P? A few have said through kids which is cool! I would have loved if my parents had embraced my teenage interests1
I personally have been watching YouTube for about 10 years, so I found Phil and Dan when YT was a lot more age appropriate for me than I guess it is now, and never really grew out of them.
How about the rest of you?

Wow, so glad to hear from all the older fans here. I turned 40 this year and have been here for the boys since 2014. I went to see both TAtinof and Dapgoose alone and though I did feel somewhat out of place it was totally worth it for me just because of the palpable joy that being there brought everyone in the venues, so will for sure be doing it again (My 8 yr old son now watches them with me so I might have some company this time). Didn't do the meet and greet then and probably wouldn't now either.
Shit ok Quick Draw was actually really funny and I didn't expect that when I clicked on it. Loved them roasting each other in always the most gentle of ways, and the part where Phil steals some marshmallows and Dan loses his mind had me in stitches.
idk what kinda mood they were in but it felt very happy and energetic. Poor Phil, the game failed him.
The secret blindfolded drawing game was also cute.

Yeah, my kids are now old enough and interested enough to go with me if Deppy tour near me again. When I went to TATINOF they were both more into YTV cartoons than YouTube but they quite often watch dapg with me now.Dbolical wrote: Wed Nov 08, 2017 11:10 pm Wow, so glad to hear from all the older fans here. Ngl I skimmed a lot of the discussion to catch up so someone else may have said this, but am I the only one who interpreted the “graphic design” comment to be referring to the way they announce whatever the thing is? They went big with tatinof announcement video (side note I will never not feel really sad at how negative the reaction to that video was because Dan seemed so discouraged about it and I have a feeling he was really proud of directing the video before.) so I could see them doing a cartoon video or something creative to announce this project.
I am also thinking the Friday announcement is something separate or in addition to the tour. Kinda feel bad it automatically got interpreted as something domestic because that must be frustrating but what can you do??

To cut a long story short I got involved with Dan and Phil via series of googling obsessions stemming from my love of the band Years and Years (music is my primary passion). I saw in an interview that Olly liked Troye Sivan’s music and became obsessed with his music and started watching his YouTube channel. Although I didn’t click with his channel I loved his collabs with Tyler Oakley and Connor Franta who I now follow. Through their collabs I found Dan and then Phil. I may have done slightly too much lurking in the Tronnor fandom, so when that collapsed I needed a distraction from sadness and started watching Dan and Phil’s videos.blackdenim wrote: Wed Nov 08, 2017 11:06 pm It's so nice to see that there are so many older fans on here! I love Dan and Phil’s videos because they are funny and relatable. All of my kids like watching them too, so we can watch them together. My oldest already liked them but now the younger two do as well. In turn they have got me watching Markiplier and other gaming youtubers

I got into YouTube somewhat in 2012/3 and watched Bertie Gilbert cos of Harry Potter and JacksGap cos they and some others were featured in the Telegraph newspaper, found people like Zoe, Joe and that gang, and discovered Dan through his JacksGap collab. I loved his humour and vaguely noticed Phil at the time, but at some point forgot about YouTube. In 2015 six weeks after my dad died I had a cold and remembered Dan was very funny so watched a few videos, then some of Phil’s and part way through one of the Things I Thought Were True videos realised he was somewhat putting on a cute act, but seemed like a love underneath it too. Lost my heart instantly, then watched more of Dan and decided he was likely to be hiding his sweetness behind the sarcasm and fell for him too. Grieving for my dad also had me thinking about lost friendships and they, and the phandom, came along when I needed something.
I found them just after they’d been to Japan and announced the book and tour, so I saw the trailer video while having no clue about the phandom and the reaction to it all. I loved the trailer, they did it so well, it’s so different from anything else of theirs or anyone else’s that I’ve seen.

I'm 15! I don't usually post and most of the time I lurk. The maturity level is much higher on here then say, Twitter (sigh), but I use Tumblr as well. I feel like there are probably a bunch of younger teens that don't really join in on the discussion, but we exist. Definitely on board with an IDB survey to see demographics.anonymousdork wrote: Wed Nov 08, 2017 11:03 pm I think the discussion about the ages of people on this website is really fascinating - and I know there are lots of older teenagers and adults on here. My current 16 year old tried to get me to watch deppy a few years ago during her own deppy phase, but I didn't get it. I ended up taking her, my BFF and HER daughter to TATINOF when they came to Clearwater and was REALLY impressed! My BFF wasn't. LOL Flash forward to now and she has kind of outgrown them (she's more into Jenna Marbles, Elijah and Christine, H3H3 and watching Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert clips). We will watch Danny Gonzales and Drew Gooden together (RIP VINE) and both love Garrett Watts. She's still subscribed to Deppy and will watch the iconic videos but for the most part skips them.
I started watching them again the 2nd quarter of the year this year, so this is my first time "live". What a time to be alive.
