Apparently they're gonna talk about embarrassing romantic experiences? I'm not gonna watch live because that app sounds like the dumbest way to get my data sold, but I see Phil announcing this enticing topic.. except that it would be great if any stories he has didn't stop when he was out of uni for reasons unknown to all of us, am I right? Like I would LOVE to hear more genuine stories from him, but it does get tiring when everything is more than a decade old ya know

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like when he's live it's only audio but he's also recording it to post as a video the next day? I don't get the appeal of listening live when there will be a video component later?? As much as I love Phil and even Louise, I am not enjoying this lol. But I am excited to watch it whenever it gets uploaded to youtube. There's something about listening live without being able to see their faces that gives me anxiety lol.

Yeah that's definitely the setup - he's going to do the video version.

Also, yeah, it's kind of awkward. I hope it gets a little more organic feeling but at the moment it's Phil trying to fit Louise into a plan he already had whereas Louise is much more down for just a normal chat and not nearly as in tune with Phil's liveshow mindset.

This is the first time I've bought into one of these spons and am listening to it live. They've just taken a break to "fix something technical". I hope this becomes more worthwhile cause so far I haven't heard either Louise or Phil tell their own awkward romantic stories, just guest listeners. They also changed the topic to specifically teenage stories which is kind of a weird thing to change...

I like the concept of Phil having discussion on different topics with other youtubers but this just feels overly complicated for probably no reason other than a #spon. This could've been a pre-recorded podcast style discussion with video or not where people send in their stories ahead of time and it would work way better. Making it live on a weird app is causing more trouble than it's worth for the listeners.

This show.... is a disaster. Technical issues. Getting booted to other shows/people whenever Phil disconnects. Why did Phil just leave Louise outta nowhere? (Theory: Sudden diarrhea).

Now they're big but like... ugh. This is hard to listen to. I'm with alittledizzy on this sounding like Phil trying to fit Louise into his usual format. And truly, this specific kind of random is a thing only Dan is used to.

Wonder how Seth will work with this tbh. Is he even much of a talker?

Even Rize at least kinda worked. Badly, but it did. This doesn't work at all. Every time I tap Phil's emoji face, which is a lot less lovely than his actual face, I hear maybe one second of it and then it says that there are currently no live talks??

I'm gonna say it. I miss Rize. It caused me several sleepless night and my phone was never the same after, but I do.

I'm gonna be honest. Dating does not make a particularly interesting topic for Phil. Especially his experiences as a closeted teen.

I just can't get it to work at all so i'm waiting until he posts it. Why can't he just use a platform that people already use and is known to work

The app is a mess and I don't understand it, it's deeply annoying and awkward as hell that it kicks to random people when someone drops out and then it's hard to get back to the show?? I'm sorry Phil but some other people I like are playing drawful for charity and I'm picking watching that over this. I'll listen/watch later.

Okay my theory is now that Dan is moderating the questions for Phil because the story about the guy's straight crush is FULLY what Dan would want Phil to react to.

I really spoke too soon cause the app ended up breaking even more where they didn't receive any guest messages for a while and then Phil told some closeted dating stories about girls. I sent in two of my own stories so I'm a little disappointed that they got lost in the void. I doubt I'll be tuning in again...

Okay, I 100% love the concept but I might be biased because I work in radio and Iove audio - especially people sharing stories. Cozy podcast with friends, Louise and Phil actually have great chemistry when they're chatting.

But it's very clear this app is not ready for this size audience or this format. This is like...beta mode.

I'm so confused about why Phil couldn't just do something on Twitch or youtube live - could his agent not have gotten him a brand deal like Julien had to start doing a cooking show on Twitch? (cries).

As much as I DEEPLY agree with you, I truly think Phil likes to be a leader in online entertainment. And that means being the reason apps fall apart. Because they're new and he's not. Him and Dan were always the first in everything - these firsts just happen to be shitty tech.

I think you have a point, and I appreciate it. As someone who works in the radio/digital intersection, this app is actually super cool. It's really hard to get people to send in audio notes/comments usually, especially younger people (unlike the old days of radio). I like the combo of audio and live format, quite a few people actually only listen to my livestream and don't watch just because they're used to me on radio. I would LOVE to have people send in audio comments.

I'm actually listening to Stereo right now, and it's two people that normally use Stereo and they have no idea what's happening but said this is the weirdest day on the app and the app sent them a message that a lot of people were online. They just keep saying that this kind of traffic is wild and the app is really glitchy. Apparently 300 people listening is a really high number...and I bet they had >2000 on the phil stream.

In the beginning I was like I’ll put with it bugging and continue to watch. I wasn’t mad at Phil telling dating girls stories I thought it was funny. But then when he said that’s enough I was like WHYYYYY?!?! Why am I watching this show to have it bug for 15 minutes, have him tell 20 minutes of the main topic and then switch to ‘Phil in the blank’. It’s just not great for me. I don’t want to be a downer but no thank you. When the app crashed it switch to two other people and they also said the app crashed and they didn’t know what happened. Maybe it’s the traffic phil had brought to the app. I’m back on my “personal adventures” bullshit I’ll be ready and waiting

I really did like the idea of the app and I liked having stories from the listeners but Stereo was not ready to take on the number of listeners Phil was going to bring. The chat it kept switching to apparently had 30 listeners before Phil's went down. I also really don't like that it would switch out hosts and force you onto someone else's talk with no way to get out except mute it, at least not that I could figure out.

I would love him to use Twitch for his streams but I think the chance of him getting a spon from them is very small. There are so many really big streamers on Twitch who regularly pull in 50k+ viewers and Phil just isn't in that league unfortunately (at least for live content).

That said, I did enjoy the parts of the chat I heard! Did anyone else notice how hesitant Louise was about mentioning Dan in the Pokemon Go story? I don't think their friends are sure what they are and aren't allowed to say either.

I'm all for Phil trying new things and I've always wanted content from Phil with him sitting down and having chill chats with other content creators, like Louise. But I just don't like it live. I am really curious to see how the video portion goes whenever it gets uploaded to youtube. And I know for next time not to bother with the Stereo part of it because it gives me too much anxiety.

Also bless Louise for being a good sport especially since she wasn't feeling well today.

I live for the chaos so I don't even entirely mind it crashing. I mean, I think more people will come together with something to talk about over that than if he had a pleasant but uninspiring hour long chat with an old friend/work peer.

I'm also just fascinated at the hand he has in shaping things like this. The two people on before him got an influx of pre-Phil listeners and were so over the moon - it made me wince, tbh, the app should have warned the normal streamers that scheduled, sponsored influencer shows were happening and it might impact their own audience makeup. They also seemed really upset when all those new listeners suddenly left.

Aside from that, I wonder if Phil had to insist it be a non-exclusive deal? Like yes he'd go live on the Stereo app but he retained permissions to repost it on youtube despite it being sponsored. Or if maybe having an influencer who would introduce a youtube audience to the app was pure benefit for them and they wanted it? Hmmm. Thoughts, thoughts.

I do love the chaos Phandom falls into when these things happen. Brings me joy. Fun to read the jokes.

But on the flip, I definitely wish Phil invested less time in signing contracts with messy apps just to talk about pigeons and aliens again and spent more time.... idk.... developing new and unique content that is in any capacity different from what he's done before. (@Phil: new content platform ≠ new content.)

Nah, Phil I'm sorry buddy you gotta step it up. Technical difficulties this late in the youtube game is kinda not acceptable. Bad choice of a spon also, probably, by his management team.

I deleted the app (and my account) this morning after realizing the app is a glorified personal data collector from a probable venture capital, dressed as a very shitty app with no control and no actual UI/UX design thoughts into it. So I didn't join live and only enjoyed the madness on Twitter.

This one is 100% Phil's fault, love the man more than I love breathing but there must be better ways to get some coin than keep partnering with services that break at even the mention of his audience and that he obviously doesn't try enough to be sure they actually work. What was he expecting? Does he realize how bad does this look for him, does he even care?

Curious to know what this will look like on youtube. I'm assuming it'll be on his second channel but I do wonder when that's gonna be published.
