That was a sweet liveshow. He was so lovely talking about his grandfather, typical how he's hoping for good-gene-longevity. Imagine us all still watching his vlogs, by that age the main topic of conversation is often health, that'll make for fun liveshows. I found the dentist talk quite interesting as I had similar wisdom teeth, didn't have a lot of pain after they were removed.

Too late on the tickets to the thing Joe tweeted about, though, they closed it at 7am today. I've been on Twitter loads lately and follow Joe and Caspar, but still didn't see it, so It was a draw for 75 pairs of tickets so perhaps we'll hear or see something of it.

Sounded like Dan said "you're gonna kill me", though he didn't sound serious or stressed. My guess was he's on guild wars maybe practising the new raid or whatever people do to prepare for those (they're the hardest, but most rewarding, team content, everyone has to know their skills and which order to use them, where to stand etc, I've never bothered).

Edit - the 1111 post-count title is "make a wish", that's so cute. I'm not sure the thing it's a reference to is meant to be cute, but to me it is.

If he's raiding in an actual guild, using voice chat and all, do you think his guildmates know who he is? 99% sure that they don't, but it's an interesting thought to me for some reason. I have never played GW2, but I wasted a lot of my life raiding on WoW, makes me wonder who all those people really were. Maybe I used to raid with Ryan Gosling and I just never knew about it.

Looking forward to Gamingmas, especially since December is always a stressful month for me! I saw on Steam that Phil played Shelter 2 for a little over an hour so that's exciting I wonder if that will be the first gaming video or whether they've recorded at least one other video as well?

Out of curiosity I had also a look at Dan's videos from this year and it seems like the trailer for Interactive Introverts, the emo shaming video and rip danisnotonfire were demonetized. All the other ones did have ads, though I'm no sure whether they had them from the start or not.

(Speaking from personal experience) GW2 raids can take hours to complete. If he’s got a set group of at least 9 people to play it with, I’m betting that they’ve ended up being more casual/bantery with each other. Or, if he plays with a combo of friends and random pugs, things might stay more game-focused.

Thanks for all your replies! I completely forgot about his GW2 thing I love how much he loves that game.
If GW2 raids are anything like WoW, they take hours like scientia said. I became great friends with the people I played with three nights a week, and if Dan is the same, I would guess they either a) know about his career or b) he doesn't tell them about it (makes something else up?). Do people know what server/character he plays on? If it's known, then I wonder if there are fans trying to get into his guild just to befriend him (probably?).

As far as them being able to tell by his voice - maybe, but not certainly. Depending on what he uses, his voice could sound a bit different from the voice we know from his videos.

I'm not really familiar with guild wars or any games like that. Do you play with the same people for years and have a 'team' of sorts and plan to play at the same time, or do you just randomly go on and play with whoever is online at the same time?

If you are a casual player, you may have a group of friends to hang out with whenever you want, or you may join up with random people.

Oh gotcha, that makes sense. Yeah, I feel like dan would be in the 'committed' category, but I also wonder how things like tatinof would have affected this. Dan is definitely a very dedicated player, he's been obsessed with Guild Wars for years and spends HOURS on it if real life allows him. He had a shrine dedicated to the game in his old room, it's a big thing for him. His escape from reality I guess.
