For some reason I've been getting a view count on both videos when they appear in my what to watch feed on yt. The counts don't appear on the videos when I click on them nor do they appear when I click on their channels so idek what's going on there.

I see them as:

Doco: 233,899
Tatinof video: 435,110

So pretty close to those.

Not sure how reliable it is but they're pretty much the same - i'd say they're doing quite well

It was just a thought. I mean if they were to date they'd want to do it privately and I think using the app is more of a privacy thing. If you hook up with a rando then they could tell anyone. But these celebrity dating apps have strict rules and a screening period where you have to be approved to be able to use it.

I'm not trying to play devil's advocate. I'm just saying that it would be an arguing point that they couldn't be dating other people or have been chaste for the last few years. I mean lots of people go on dating apps just to hook up. This could just be a way of doing that and knowing that the other person wouldn't let the cat out of the bag.

Apparently you can sign up and say who referred you and if there isn't a user using the app with their Instagram name, then they don't have an account on raya. Someone should try signing up and getting to the part with the referral and then put danisnotonfire and see if it says that user doesn't exist??

You don't necessarily have to be a celebrity. These apps are geared towards people like photographers, talent agents, musicians, business owners, or anyone that people might use for sex or let others know that person is hooking up. Like if someone is on tinder, another person can just screen shot your profile and use that to get ahead or gain more influence because of a following that person has. Essentially blackmail or something.

Also they do sign confidentiality agreements. And if you screen shot someone's profile you get kicked out of the app. There's like a membership fee and everything. I just started looking into them because I saw an article and Amy Schumer says she met her bf on Raya.

When I was in the phandom in 2012, I was a dan tops fan, but I still feel like it was hard to find dan tops fanfiction, as most of the stuff I stumbled upon seemed to be Phil tops fanfiction. I didn't know AO3 existed at that point, so it was all exclusively tumblr. Not sure how many other phandom members knew AO3 or used it but idk, it just seemed like it wasn't what people used, although now most tumblr fics have AO3 links as well. So yeah...interesting though that most of the early AO3 fics had dan topping, maybe the dan top fans (except me) took refuge in AO3 and formed a little community to get away from the phil tops stans......where was my invitation??

That is a really interesting addition to the question here, what popular ideas trended within specific groups of people and how that influenced the amount of fic with those concepts.

Even right now I can see shades of that in other tropes - like, there's way more of the punk/pastel on tumblr than ao3. Some of it shows up on ao3 but most of it that I see is just on tumblr. Is it that certain groups of people are more observant about certain behaviors, or just that within certain groups someone sees something they like written by one person and tries to replicate it and they all just feed off of each other?

Would the top/bottom question even apply to that? I compared it to tropes, but I'm not sure it is a trope.

Ok, I know everyone has moved past this, but it bothers me so I am going to re-post it. Sorry it took so long, I had to calm down after being annoyed at being told I was wrong when I posted a darn screenshot with proof I was right. (and go shopping, but whatever)

The line after "we never would have met" from the tatinof song is not "there is not a thing that I regret". Its a sweet thought, but that is not the lyric. I understand now that I messed up because I tried to use one screenshot for two purposes, and everyone just saw the girl and not the lyric. Here is a new screenshot from a nano second later. The girl is not in it, and I circled the lyric in case looking at phil is too distracting.

Now we have a lovely crystal clear recording, so time to learn the correct words please.

I do not mean to take away from the sentiment of the song. I think the line, while different, means sorta the same thing. Clearly, the fact that they met and now lead these wonderful lives is something they are grateful for and do not regret. That feeling is implied however, not the actual lyric. Which is the way DnP like to do things. They imply their love, rather than spell it out for us.

Tumblr is notorious for copying stuff and turning it into a thing tbh. Punk/pastel, flower crowns, aesthetics, moodboards, color palettes, sticking text posts that could relate to a fandom or character onto a screencap... someone started it for their own amusement and then Tumblr drives that shit straight into the ground by overusing it. Fun for a few days, then really annoying and unoriginal. But nobody will let it die until the next thing comes along.

The 'bowling' ball must be plastic or some bendy material because it comes squished inside the sketchbook, you can see when Phil grabs it for the first time how he clumsy holds it shows that there's an empty space between some pages (you can see that also when Dan's grabbing the pen and it shows a side view of Phil), when he presses the sides and pretends he's using his strength he's probably waiting for it to go back to it's original size and then he releases it, also for a slight second when it falls on the floor it doesn't looks completely round. (that's kind of a guess tho, I just observed these things when watching, I could be completely wrong and he could be holding the ball in the crook of his arm behind the sketchbook tho)

Just for the hell of it, I tried it by typing in fake info and... it doesn't tell you if the user is on the app or not! You can type them in as referrals but nothing says "user doesn't exist". I tried Using my other ig account and a few other famous peoples ig and it let it go though.
If the app kicks you off for even screenshoting someone's page, did you really think it would let you see who's on the app before getting though the first application??
Let's be real, we'll never actually find out if they are on there anyways. Specially if you have to have a certain number of followers. And even still their personal life's are none of our business really. I only tried it out since I knew that most likely wouldn't have worked anyways.

It's taken me three hours to catch up on this thread since last night wtf calm down guys.

Thoughts on the twitter party: I wasn't hyped, I had a lecture when it was scheduled to end so I didn't intend to even take part/follow it, but I woke up at 7am (when it started), so I followed all the tweets without watching the show (I've watched it 5 times already anyway I feel like I don't need to anymore). It was p good - the tweets during the show were better than those during the doc (apart from Phil's one about crying because ), it was nice to see some more bts/trivia-y things, though I could have done with them ing the whole #busgate thing again because I'm sick of it at this point
