10/10 video.

i loved the slime video so much??? i wasn't expecting to love it as much as i did :garbage:

the entire beginning segment of him being defensive about the very existence of this video was great. "you're not my real parents, so i can do what i want!" indeed.

include me in the list of people who thoroughly enjoyed the slightly more adult jokes (cocaine, possible unicorn jizz reference, etc.)
also him ~aesthetically~ draping the guinea pig in slime made me genuinely lol

overall: 10/10, exactly the kind of positive, silly content i love phil for <3

Oh god! Such a satisfying video! His voice so soft and low, :love2: and not at all annoying youtuber. At the end the slime looked fantastic i was really surprised.
having said that, i would never ever do that on my bed! poor bed, and clothes. (now i want/need to see their kitchen :garbage: )

That was adorable, it was so cute how he dumped three whole tubes of glitter in and made naughty jokes about drugs and sparkly unicorn fluids ;) I hadn't entirely realised he's been using his deeper voice lately, but he sounded like this in the mystery box video too, no wonder I was even more enthralled than usual. It was great to see which things he chose for the slime, we knew it would be fluffy, but blue, glittery and glow-in-the-dark were surprises. Poor thing got glitter all over his hands, I guess that doesn't stick so well. Could use a hoover on the bedsheets, though? Maybe not if he got glue and stuff on them too. I was worried he'd use too much contact lens solution cos that can make it crack, but then you can counteract it with one of the other ingredients. Funny he mentioned his 2008 photo. Hi, Phil ;)

Cute that Rosanna Pansino has sent them her baking range, I'm assuming she sent more than just the cups (it's washable glue, I'm sure hot water or just peeling it off once it's dry will leave the cups usable for baking). Some heart or poo-shaped candies sometime perhaps? Such a cheeky bugger with the "normal sized cereal bowl" wow, such sass, there goes his innocent butter-wouldn't-melt persona (I know it went a long time ago, though this video did have enough naughty jokes to be actually knocking the wall down).

Loved watching him playing with the slime close up on the table. Slime is softer than putty so it's easier to poke holes in it and stretch it right out. Good point about snokoplasm, I forgot all about it. It'd be funny if he ever mentioned it again or outright brought it back.

Good analysis, drearyquery, good to know they're doing well.

Also, has anyone else noticed recently that Phil's hair is looking a bit.... more browny-red? Not necessarily lighter, but there are moments where it looks like he's letting the black dye fade a bit? I've noticed it in several of the last few gaming videos and especially in today's slime video. It's like the browns grown in a bit and he hasn't bother to dye it.

I don't hate it. #TeamNaturalHair

Hello everyone! Decided to finally make an account after lurking for a few months.

I really loved the slime video! It made me laugh a few times and I loved how natural his voice sounded. I feel like he was really trying to break away from the cutesy innocent perception many people have of him, what with the drugs mention and also of other bodily fluids  I also can't believe the the shirtless guy washing a horse was still in his recommended  and he must be trolling us with "average sized cereal bowl"

What worries me sometimes is that with the increase in male attraction mentions (which has been accompanied by a sudden drop in female ones, so is it because Dan and Phil, and Dan in particular, want to really drive home the fact that they like men and to compensate for all the :2012: shit - how I miss this emoji - or is it because sexualising men feels safer for multiple reasons, you decide) and the double pressure of the phandom wanting them to do "gay things" (again, sorry) and Deppy not wanting to appear sexist (you know, this train of thought: "because we don't want to be seen as sexist, anything we say about women can be misconstrued as sexist, so it's safer not to talk about women at all", like straight progressive comedy hosts on American TV have been doing for some time now, if you need a joke about finding someone attractive, joke about a man), women just disappear from the discussion altogether. It's for purely selfish reasons, I admit, but even when I'm watching two guys probably-in-a-committed-gay-relationship play games on youtube, I like my entertainment to include women, thank you. That's why I like Tabitha and I was a little sad to see their second child be a boy, too. I recognise that, like with many things, Deppy just can't win, there always will be people disappointed with their choices, but what I'd really like to see more of in the Sims is them exploring her personal storyline
I dont have much to add to this, but just wanted to say that I really agree with you and that I would also love to see deppy play with a female character with a storyline that doesnt really involve men? Or at least one that has interests outside of romance/childcare/housework etc.

Such a great video of Phil creating his own glittery slime!! It made me rewatch the kinetic sand video and long for the days when these two would post side channel originals instead of liveshow content. That's the place for a five minute glow in the dark session with this slime.

If I'm honest, I was not at all looking forward to the slime video. So watching it was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't 'shocked' by the more adult jokes because I've noticed that recently, at least since the start of this year, he has become more genuine, well personally I feel like he is trying to keep to his persona less. By the way, I don't hate his or Dan's persona, I just don't like them to exaggerated to the point where they are forced and fake.

I also appreciate how Phil is aware that his content is, to put in his words, 'the most highbrow' and kind of gimicky but still seems to be making it because he is genuinely passionate about it and not just to pump out a video.

I think that's just light shining on his hair, the browny parts move when he moves his head.
I'm glad he's grown the shaved sides out, i never thought they suited him.

Gnosia wrote: Fri Sep 01, 2017 11:04 pm When they first started the sims I wasn't sure I'd enjoy it that much but it's actually been pretty entertaining for me to watch so far. Granted, some episodes are more enjoyable than others (redecorate and renovate all day every day) but I find it interesting to see the choices they make while trying to keep a consistent narrative flowing as they go along. I also like how Dan chose options for Dab to "mouth off" and for Dalien to make a mess during the family activity instead of keeping their actions polite and proper all the time. I think it invites a little more unpredictability wondering what might happen in the future as a result while not completely destroying the storyline of this unconventional but tight-knit family they've set up. It really is like a soap opera in a way and (this is a strictly personal opinion here look out) more interesting to watch them play than dream daddy. I guess more to do with how they choose the path the story goes and are able to introduce characters and influence other characters actions at a whim, whereas DD seems to follow a linear storyline they're mostly reacting to rather than actually engaging with in a way that affects the gameplay as it does with the sims. Then again I know next to nothng about DD so it might be completely different than I think it is and I'll keep watching the series when they upload another episode of it anyway, but for the moment sims has me completely hooked.

tl;dr: This sims episode was nice, Dalien's true form is a glitch in the matrix and Dan clearly needs to buy Phil one of those volcano kits for them to make together. He's already creating slime in his room, might as well resurrect science Phil completely and go for broke.
i love your whole post and i especially agree about liking the sims more than dream daddy so you're not alone.
i think phil should do one of those volcano kits for his channel tbh. but maybe not in his room haha
I agree and especially about the not making one in his room part if this current video is any indication

This was such a nice video to watch honestly. I haven't seen much "how to's" featuring slime, mostly just the aesthetically pleasing short clips of people stretching and poking them, but I liked the energy Phil brought to this. It was short and sweet (though incredibly stressful to watch him spill powder and glitter onto his bedsheets, Phil dear god man....)but I loved the clear enjoyment he took in making it as well as the nice touches he added with the liberal amounts of glitter and glow in the dark powder mixed into the giant cereal bowl fit to have a pool party in. The little hat of slime he made without meaning to for the guinea pig was funny too along with his commentary throughout the video and the full body glue peel he was not seriously/maybe just a bit seriously considering doing, but when he was vigorously poking and prodding the slime all I could hear was Dan's voice saying, "you are the least delicate person!" lol

Overall, he seemed pleased with this and it was in turn pleasing to watch. Kind of exactly what I needed for today. :radioactive slime emote:

That was a nice video! I agree with the people saying this was less persona-heavy, though I think he's been mentioning drugs more lately, and this wasn't a sudden thing. Definitely did a double take when I saw the topless guy showering a horse among all of the slime videos.

Doing this video in his bedroom is some true dedication to not letting us see any more of the house than we've already seen

I definitely loved the video, my god, Phil is so funny, his commentary made me smile throughout the entire thing and I laughed out loud quite a few times :love1: the drugs bit was brilliant, and from the first seconds of the vid I noticed that his "hey guys!" was said in an unusually softer and lower for his AP persona voice and honestly, it made the video even more pleasing. I don't know why exactly, but I got some old school Phil vibes from it, maybe because of the shot of him playing with the glowing slime, or maybe because of the sort of aesthetically pleasing way he was draping it over the guinea pig, but either way, this is now one of my favourite Phil videos of all time, his energy and excitement were radiating through the screen <3 other things I especially loved: the sassy "you're not my real parents so I can do what I want" (YES) and the shoutout to his 2008 profile picture, it was especially great after it was literally just mentioned here lol. him punching the slime was funny to me as well, idek why
last, but not the least important thing: he looked really good :garbage:

Possibly one of the least pleasing slime making video ever with how much Phil was stumbling around on that bed but I really enjoyed it :D

Commentary:
- lmao I cackled at the salad bowl. Please stop this sass master before he eats soup out of a bucket just to get back at us.
- Anyone else got skin fic flashbacks when Phil talked about peeling glue of his entire body? D:
- As if he needs a musical instrument to ruin his neighbors day, he already has Dan.
- Why does he do these things on a bed instead of table like a sane person?
- Phil talking about weird stains, persona who?
- It's okay Phil we know you aren't gonna waste your coke stash on a slime video :love2:
- That glow in the dark stuff actually worked, I thought it'd fuck up the recipe but it looks cool.
- Bit hard to get Instagram views on Youtube but don't let details stop you.
- That deep voice is far nicer than any of that royalty free music hon.
- Good thing you don't sleep there with all that glitter.

Phil was definitely a bit different in this. Less heavy on the persona, more relaxed and using his normal voice :stan:

it's a result for a "Which animal would best suit your personality?" quiz on youthink.
You are one of the best friends that someone could ever ask for. A very loyal, compassionate person who is always there for close friends and family members who are in a tough time. You are someone who can be counted on time and time again and never let small grudges get in the way of a good friendship. But unfortunately, you are very dependant, and every now and then someone will take advantage of your loyalty, and it is most often not until you end up hurt that you realised your foolishness.
I'll have you know there isn't anything exciting on youthink; of what i dug up he mostly just commented his scores on flash games.

other mildly interesting tidbits:
  • he used the account between the end of 2003 and the beginning of 2006
  • his profile information is exactly what you'd expect

  • dreadful spelling (also as you'd expect)
  • i guess this is mildly amusing in hindsight

I'm what, about 11 inches shorter than Dan, about 10 shorter than Phil. And I barely fit into a standard sized bathtub. Never mind adding an entire other person.

Dan and Phil cuddly bath time sex is... optimistic at best. Unless one of them is hiding an incredible gymnastic talent, they need the Olympic sized swimming pool

Adding my voice to the chorus of people who loved this video! It was one of those videos that really left me feeling very fond of Phil - he was so charming in it, in such a completely 'Phil' way. His soft voice, his total self-awareness in making a video that is obviously not "high-brow" content but is something he finds enjoyable/entertaining anyway, purposefully trolling us with the average-sized cereal bowl, the numerous jokes about cocaine and allusions to jizz (lol why does that autocorrect to 'jazz', I am 12 and laughing), the fact that he was actually really good at it and succeeded in making pretty cool looking slime.. .just a good video, we are blessed on this day :')

Also, I'm not usually the world's biggest fringe fan, but I thought his hair looked particularly nice in this video, and he was just overall very beautiful.

Also also, why is Dan being so sweet and supportive lately, liking all Phil's tweets and tweeting him to subtly promo the vid and adding Phil's channel onto his list of 'Premium Content' :love1:

As someone who tends to dislike many of Phil's videos these days, I really have to join the chorus about how much I loved this one. :garbage: As has been pointed out, it was a real throwback to the old-school Phil I yearn for (while still letting mature, 30-year-old Phil shine through too).

I especially enjoyed him using the measuring cups and spoons Roseanne Paisano sent him (pretty ineptly tbh). I have done a lot of cooking in both the UK and the US, using both British and American recipes in both places, and the surprisingly many ways they differ has always been interesting to me. As an example, it takes reading English recipes which reference "dessert spoon" and "teacup" as measures of volume for an American to realize a Brit is not going to take "teaspoon" and "cup" as precise measures. (I think modern British cooks just weigh things when they want to be precise--which we've seen Deppy do; most Americans wouldn't know a kitchen scale if it bit them.)

Anyway, so my daughter (who watched with me for once!) and I chortled at Phil's heaping the teaspoon measure (you're supposed to level it off), and my daughter shouted at the screen "Just do half a cup twice!" when Phil tipped the glue from the half-cup measure into the cup measure.

So again: 11/10 for a video that I will be rewatching multiple times. <3
