being a fan since the dailybooth days, in the beginning i was 100% sure they were together but these days its more like 50 / 50

other than them 100% being together my other theories are, were together in 2009 and not now and decided they are better as friends, they have secret s/o's or they have decided to put their career before any kind of relationships.

The difference in hiding something that they're working on together in their own home, and in hiding an entire third person who presumably would want some kind of representation and stake in their lives.

(Which is about all I have to say about the topic. More power to people who want to discuss it, just not my cup of tea unless there's actual proof of some specific and not just a general 'but there COULD BE' concept.)

well, that was more fun and emotional than I expected (but would of course preferred a joint ls), I'm actually mad it didn't trend on twitter, no way it was lack of tweets, things that were trending had so little I think it's twitter fucking up
I'm also really tired, at one point my eyes started getting tired from going so much from tab to tab to keep up with the movie, everything being tweeted by each of them and trying to write good tweets, might need a vacation from twitter now.
(just a side not that both the director Ed and Chris Cox are adorable and interacting with quite a lot of phandom members on twitter, it always brightens my day when 'outside' people interact with the phandom in a positive way)

If I was one of their so's, I would not be happy with having to hide it. Would not put up with that for long, and I can't think anyone else with self esteem who would.

Also I think Tabitha has some very Phil like qualities.

i think plenty of people would want to hide form the cray fandom, but idk. especially if they're in the industry where it's normal to hide relationships.

anyway, i think Tabitha was just pure luck, Dil had quite a few failed attempts at relationships

The thought of them having to hide a relationship, either with each other or with other people, always makes me sad. I've been there for closet-y reasons and the strain of keeping things secret was really tiring. It's one thing to want to keep things private, but feeling like you have to for whatever reason sucks.

I could see them hiding a relationship, I mean think of the fallout. Hiding it would be the best option.

My big thing is their history and how close they are. Even if they are't together, they still have a very questionable history and a new s/o would have to have the worlds biggest ego to withstand the relationship between these two. Projecting: If I met a guy who lived with his best friend, and they were that close. I would question it a little bit. But if I knew about the history, even if they both would laugh it off and say oh that was just for ....whatever the reason they could come up with...it would be suspicious as hell. I mean they still live together and a super close, and spend most of their time together. It would be strange, like the third wheel in an established relationship.

Don't know if I explained that well... I blame my brain not working properly due to lack of oxygen...*cough*

it's interesting though that dan seemingly got it from phil, since he used to be an attention seeker

a lot of musicians spend LOADS of time with their bandmates making music and then tour for like 3 years straight and yet manage to have families. it all comes down to what you expect from your relationship i guess

In that case it would depend how the person treats you. If they treat you like an equal but different part of their life or you will just never reach the level their friend is. I wouldn't mind if I met a Dan who had a Phil in the sense that it would be an extra friend (and I have very few so gotta get that count to one hand ), but if I was treated like a side dish then I'd be upset. No reason you have to compete, if the person in the middle is juggling you then that's not fair to you.

the weirdest thing, though, is that they both are quite possessive of each other. Having a jealous person being close to someone you're dating would be a task to deal with, especially if they do come first in your SO's life. Even if they treated you as an equal, your life would be made harder, just because your SO's bff thinks you're stealing the time away, when they're used to getting undivided attention.

So does that mean they wrote everything for the show, like the dil part where he compliments their personal achievements and talks about their fears, or just the fanfic stuff? i really hope so.

sorry to feed this probably ancient discussion but...

I see the argument about hiding TABINOF but I also agree so hard that hiding a work-related thing is completly different from hiding something personal.
Everything inolving emotions has a high possibility of becoming messy at some point, and humans tend to gossip about these things.
Making professionals you work with be silent about a project for a year is not nearly as difficult, unless they aren't professionals at all.

Not saying that phan is real but I highly doubt there is somebody else in the picture. Though I would be thrilled to find out about stuff like this I'm mostly interested in all the unsolved mystery anyway

Either they have long-term partners, which would put a lot of strain on that relationships and make it likely that these people have appeared and raised suspicions at some point. Plus other people would know.
Or they are casually dating/hooking up, which would be even more dangerous as to being discovered, how to tell if you can trust somebody if you just met them? Could they be sure that none of their hook-ups would spill the beans later? Or just any random friend who got told the story and couldnt keep their mouth shut? Somebody who saw them on the street? And since we've got nothing, not even claims about supposed involvements, I'd be really surprised if one of these options was the case.
