Dan & Phil Part 17: Open Wide for Captain Lester
OK that was whatever, the actual panel should be better (hopefully). And, in the nicest way possible, I wish moderators or somebody would tell the audience to shut the fuck up during panels. Like, there's a time limit, so screaming is literally just wasting everybody's time. If you like the people on the panel, SHUT UP so they can actually talk arghghghgh. For something dumb like this variety thing, scream all you want I guess. Still annoying though.
edit: lool I think it froze for me during this part, but here's Dan saying 'Phil' and 'choke you' in the same sentence, so enjoy

Dan's expressiveness rescued it I thought, I was too busy laughing at him to groan at the same-old little questions. Could hardly hear what they were all saying over the screaming, but Dan pointing at Phil before they got to him for questions like "Cheese?" and "I can't eat cheese and he steals my cereal, what can I do?" was very cute. Barely heard a word from Phil, but kinda got the gist. Maybe a YT upload will somehow have some sound or someone will report back with a transcript
On her way out, the girl on Periscope said she'd be back for the panel too. Can only hope she sits so close again and maybe forgets to scream.
Also, their clothes - weed top for Dan, Illuminati or Hieroglyph symbol tshirt and blue jacket on Phil.

Here's some Twitter videos where you can hear their answers better.
I was honestly expecting them to do their own segment and not just a Q&A, so I'm a little surprised and underwhelmed like everyone else. One positive, I liked that Dan just had to insert some little domestic anecdote every time Phil answered something, that was amusing.
Now to wait for the panel.
P.S: I'm happy that I contributed slightly to a thread name.

Phil looks really good here.
Thank you so much for posting these!!! Now I know what everyone meant with Dan correcting/elaborating on Phil's answers, and it's actually pretty entertaining! I'm not as angry anymore hahhaha.crash[] wrote:Here's some Twitter videos where you can hear their answers better.

That was underwhelming and short (I suffered through Ricky Dillon too danphil333....
I mean it's cute that Dan talks for Phil and inserts anecdotes but sometime I just want to hear Phil answer a question without interruption. It was like everything he said was embellished or even answered by Dan and that annoyed me.
Hopefully the next panel allows Phil to talk more but tbh It'll probably be the same. I think its part Phil being shy and Dan overcompensating and part Dan liking to work an audience and getting a rush so that he forgets about those around him. The last time I've heard Phil properly in a panel was in 2011 and he actually offers great advice so I hope he gets the confidence (and allowance) to do so.

I'm imagining this and oh my god i am not okay, thank you for this that's so cute!!!cora808 wrote:"Are you gentlemen ready to order?"

I also hear what people are saying about letting Phil answer his own questions, that's a totally valid way to feel, but I don't feel like Dan didn't let Phil answer in this case. like he didn't really cut Phil off, he just elaborated on what Phil said/corrected him afterwards. I didn't see a problem with it and I thought it was kinda cute because I read it as Dan acting in a loving way? Does anyone get me lol idk how to explain this

English is not my first language: half of the mistakes are typos ,half are me
Well that was boring. I kind of expected that Phil would be more confident after so many tatinofs but he is still very shy when it comes to non scripted performances.
Idek with Dan, perhaps it's nervous talking or he enjoys being the center of attention or it's just his way of putting Phil at ease by completing his answers. Hope the panel is more interesting.

Who was it on here who said Phil was trying to f*ck a ghost the other day? Well apparently...
The fondness when Dan talks about Phil's Mario Kart selections

Also possible besides putting Phil at ease: putting himself at ease. I do that, nervous-talking.NarrysCanary wrote:I think it's bothdaichii wrote: Idek with Dan, perhaps it's nervous talking or he enjoys being the center of attention or it's just his way of putting Phil at ease by completing his answers. Sooo... me deciding to take a nap instead of that unimaginative mess wasn't a waste. Good.
(srsly the answers were boring and awful but the questions they got asked were pretty shit as well)
I can't be mad Dan constantly jumping in on Phil's answers. We all know that Phil doesn't shine in these type of things, sharing the stage or a panel with people he doesn't know very well just makes him shut down. Phil's answers would've been short like that whether Dan had eleborated on them or not.
I hope the panel is better than the variety show, I want some Phan being cute about their history and I have no shame.
