I could hardly think of anything, all I managed was ‘you don’t like wooden furniture’ cos of the new table and the coloured dining chairs.

Maybe someone will ask how the hell he won the carpet vs wooden floors argument since that ig story with the table we saw carpet.

My money's on Dan doing what Phil's parents did and saying he could have free rein to decorate that one room

That way Phil gets his carpet and Dan doesn't have to deal with it.

I don't know if I'm imagining things but did their bedroom have carpet as well? I can't check atm but I'm having this weird deja vu moment of being surprised the bedroom had carpet too.

i remember in the "reason i didn't buy a scary house vid" where he does a qna he did say he wanted to write things and make it into a production stuff like that and in vidcon 2019 he did a qna pannel live and he mentioned how he has pitched stuff in the past and was rejected and never told us bc things didn't work out and how that's one of the many things he worked on and how it may seem nothing is happening but behind the scenes they could be doing something

Never mind, I imagined it. I looked up the selfie in the bedroom and it definitely looks like floorboards where the floor is visible near the bedside table with maybe a rug over the other side of the room. In that case Dan really did allow Phil his carpet as long as it was in the one room he doesn’t have to deal with

I didn't answer my own question so I'm just gonna say: I'd love an 'out' version of them doing Dream Daddy. At the point they started that game, I feel like Dan already knew he wanted to eventually make a coming out video and they were already negotiating comfort lines, but it was just... slightly awkward in how early days it was.

Donkey Kong for me! They're some of my favourite videos to go back to, I love how chaotic they are when they have to actually work together.

I know realistically he's probably just got life stuff going on. The second Draw My Life video with his dad's cancer, and even the hospital video with his horrible headaches were good reminders that sometimes there's a whole lotta shit happening behind the scenes that we don't know about. But it doesn't really stop the emotional response when we go from hearing from him/them fairly regularly to once a week tweets and twice a month videos. I wish Project Sphere!Phil and Professional Youtuber!Phil could be a bit more of a venn diagram than it is.

I’ve assembled a PIG PLINTH which you’ll see in my new video! (coming this week). I figured if I gave him an attractive table to stand on it will make it harder for Dan to secretly steal it.
I got it off one of those instagram ads that usually turns out to be a scam but it was an actual real holographic table so I’m happy and so is the pig. (photo attached)

I just had a trawl through my ancient facebook statuses after being recommended a thrilling status of ‘asleep’ from 2007 which I tweeted. Facebook was so weird back then, everyone would literally post what they were doing with no attempt at being funny or interesting and they were also sometimes in the 3rd person which is super weird to read now. Some other bangers were

‘bored of essays’
‘Phil is awake at 3am’
‘zzzz’
‘alone in computer lab again at 2am probs gonna die’
‘myspace is better than fb sorry’

I think they’re better left in the vault tbh.

Yesterday I also saw the first draft of the show me and Dan filmed up North! It’s weird seeing something I didn’t edit with me in it but I think you guys will enjoy it whenever it comes out! There’s at least 1 minute of HD dog content so it’s worth looking forward to just for that. It’s also crazy being in a production where you’ll literally film for 20 hours and then 20 mins makes the cut! I’ll hopefully get some bonus clips out of them if I can. Preferably of dogs.

Finally sorry to be British and talk about the weather but how is it September tomorrow and we had literally one mildly warm day in August? I want a refund. Hopefully it’ll be one of those oddly warm Septembers as I’m not ready for warm sweaters just yet. I only developed one freckle I want at least 3.

So it's Dan & Phil's show and not a Phil's shown with Dan in it. I would have been nice for it to be a Phil-focused production but I actually prefer their join content so yay!!

Though... those talks about being a big production but only airing 20 minutes means that the video will only last 20 minutes?!?! Or is it part of a bigger thing of which 20 min are set in the north? Is the rest of the video a DnP thing still or are other people involved?

On another note, Zoe and Alfie have just announced the birth of their baby and many people are reminiscing about how they used to be their ship and how emotional it is to now see them as parents.
It made me think that yes, overall, regardless of sexuality, DnP are private people compared to Zoe, yet... how much of a impact society's homophobia has played into this?

As someone who didn't start watching YouTube until like the last 5 years or so, what would you define as an "old school YouTube video"? That's the terminology Phil used somewhere recently, and the only frame of reference I have for that is Phil's older vids where he would tell random stories and where the humor was more absurdist. For those of you who have been around for YT longer, back in the early days, what sorts of things were people doing back then that aren't as common now?

I randomly saw the show The Dog House on TV a few months ago and since then I've just assumed that was the show they were asked to be on? But either way I think I remember the way he worded it being a TV show and not something for his channel.

As much as I would love them to get a dog I've been trying to keep my hopes down after the Stereo shows. The way Dan spoke when the topic came up made it sound pretty unlikely. BUT 1 minute of dog content in a 20 minute video... That both sounds like not much and a lot all at once. It wouldn't involve Ian would it? I'm still very confuse but excited for whatever it ends up being!

Thank you so much for sharing these updates! I can’t afford to be a channel member right now, so I really appreciate getting the scoop, or should I say spoon (meaning we’re not getting much lately)

I really wonder what it is. It seems like such a small amount of content, but something is better than nothing. I really hope they do something else this fall, or at least in December. Wish we had more to look forward to. Dan’s book took forever, but was a lot of content. I like looking forward to things for months, but it’s better if it’s more than 20 minutes ( at least that’s longer than most of Phil’s vids lately!)

I can understand why they usually wait until a secret project is just about to be released to announce it because not having any idea what this video is about is driving me crazy. Then when I forget about it he drops another hint that just makes it even more confusing!

It's a slow day so I've been rereading the post and looking at the clues he's dropped so far, racking my brain and I'm still at a complete loss. So far the hints we have are: a trolley, a donut, an alien, Rawtenstall, Dan and ~1 minute of HD dog content.

My best guess is a documentary about alien abductions in small towns in northern England where all the dogs are being abducted and the aliens will only return them for a ransom of a shopping trolley full of donuts. Idk about Dan, maybe he has contact with the extraterrestrials?

My best guess is a pilot for a gameshow. Or a show where he interview people with weird jobs or something like that.

Dan's mentioned a few times (relatively) recently that he doesn't idolize Kanye anymore so I took what he said in that story as an "oh how the tables have turned" type of statement and see it as growth. I know in the past he's had a "separate the art from the artist" attitude when it comes to Kanye and if he does listen to the album that might be how he justifies it. It's not a concept I've ever gelled with but I'm understanding it a little more as I see some of my friends struggling with it when it comes to Harry Potter.
