I don't think anyone is saying that Phil can't or shouldn't enjoy queer things without Dan. Obviously we don't know the degrees to which D&P are invested in Drag Race, but Dan has talked more about it over a longer period of time than Phil and interacted with more Drag Race queens' social media, so I think it's reasonable for some people to be surprised that it appears to be Phil who is at a Drag Race queen's show first, without assuming anything problematic in people's thoughts. I think we can assume positive intent here that if people are surprised by this, it's just because our interpretation of the info we've received led us to infer that Dan was more into Drag Race than Phil.

On the flipside, way back in the day Phil had what, friends in common and some interaction with Adore Delano?

I feel this but also just like, looking at it from their perspective... I probably would do the same. Discovering that you are a Thing in someone else's fandom would be so weird and funny and probably they wouldn't have a sense of the phandom as having a separate space for them to intrude on?

yeah I totally get that and it makes sense, I just love my (apparently non-existent) fourth wall. I'm not asking them to change their behaviour or delete it or anything, maybe I should be more forgiving, but it makes me feel icky to have it be put on that level of platform.

This is not really a response but this made me check how many followers they have and it's 26.5k, and it just reminded me what ridiculous numbers of followers D&P have. I don't really have any sense of Lion Babe's popularity/fame/what their fanbase is like (except I now know they have 26.5k Twitter followers), and I don't know if they have any idea who D&P are beyond seeing that tweet.

When are artists gonna learn to either not react to indirects or just acknowledge the save generic praise ones only? Save themselves from this cringe fest.

While they have a supporting role in it, the tweet/video was obviously not about them and just looking at the engagement on the tweet (it's a month old as well??) would tell them that. So it was just unnecessary. Or maybe the higher than usual engagement is exactly why they replied which really would not help cringe levels...

Hello everyone sorry to come splashing in here like a total noob and derail, but I was wondering about Dan's absence at the even yesterday which lead me to thinking about marathon training plans. Looking at basic plans it does seem as if he should ideally be doing at least 12 miles and eventually more every Sunday from now until the London Marathon. (As a very non-athletic person who has never seen a training plan before, much less followed one, this did surprise me.) It turns out there's another very conveniently scheduled half-marathon in London today @OfficialBigHalf. It's going right now and streaming on twitter (although they are naturally filming the front, where Dan definitely won't be). Anyway, I just thought it was worth mentioning. I know I'll be keeping an eye on the tags for the next couple of hours >_>

There are like 93 possible reasons why Dan wasn't at the show with Phil and the others. Maybe he had something better to do, maybe he just didn't feel like going, maybe he was there and hid really well. I don't like it when stuff like this gets over analysed, which is not happening here but in other phandom spaces.

I think this is so interesting, not because of something that happened on this forum but in general. Because I do often get the feeling that people see Dan as "more queer" even though it's Phil who has been out in his private life for so long and has more experience with queer culture and stuff. (Obviously no one is more queer than another queer person but you know what I mean, I guess.) It's just interesting to me that people are still surprised when Phil participates in queer culture and I think it's because of how casual he is about his sexuality? We've been talking about that a while ago as well.

I think people do expect Dan to do more stuff like this because he's a bit louder about being gay which probably also has to do with him only being out for half a year. I don't know how I feel about this but some of the "discourse" about this reminds me of how people got angry at Phil last year because he wasn't at any Pride events and I really hope the phandom won't go in that direction again anytime soon.

Okay yes this is now my going theory. And if he did have a marathon, not hitting a club/show the night before sounds like a wise move.

Because I'm a plant dork, I'd like to report for those of you on here that the mystery addition to Phil's ZZ Plant on his story is indeed the flower! It's very rare when they're kept indoors!

He just said Cornelia gave him a ticket for his birthday and they went! (Then he also said she had an extra ticket - so I wonder if Martyn had no interest or something?)

I actually got Phil to express opinions with my art question. And this was another good live show - he was really funny today. I have more thoughts but I feel like I need to watch again before I say more

I loved today’s liveshow! He was funny and a little sassy again lol. I’m excited for the video he’s filming tomorrow and he also mentioned that he’s thinking about making a video when the new animal crossing comes out. I hope he does!
