ahh I'm so excited about Civil War too!! I'm exactly the same with rambling, don't worry! (Deliberately not even getting started on your BW/Hawkeye/Whedon/AOU mention...) I actually just read the best Stucky fic (also Steve/Rhodey and Steve/Sam, but the beginning is Steve/Bucky centric), which is basically a super queer look at Steve's life from before CA:TFA all the way through to after CA:TWS, with an additional superpowered kids subplot, and is just absolutely beautiful, it's my favourite MCU fic now. I'm awful at summarising fics for recs (I tend to remember the feel of a fic - 'super queer' - rather than what actually happened?), but it's called Known Associates if anyone wants to have a look, the tags give a good idea of what you're getting into - warning that it is 290k though!! (also it has a lot of gender feels - which I adored and don't want to spoil too much - if that's something you like Winterbury? personally I eventually got fed up with never really having an answer on 'wtf is gender' and decided to try out agender/nonbinary as labels, and found that super comfortable so haven't looked back since!) /ramble!

Been absolutely loving reading this thread I feel like if I started to reply to everything I found interesting I'd never stop though!

Looking at the HP and MCU recs flying around I wonder if people think it might be worth starting a non-D&P fanfic rec/discussion thread?

I'm definitely glad I avoided ever getting a myspace. God, remember scene queens? I'm still recovering from that.

I was really into The Used and My Chem (also, From First to Last, but they don't really get classified as bandom ever and now I have to constantly avoid Skrillex fans), but I definitely dabbled occasionally in the Panic! fandom, as did achika apparently. I wondering how deep one needed to be into internet bandom to encounter Ryden fic? I know I was sort of surprised when I first heard Dan mention it.

I'm trying to find things to say about myself that I would never say in a normal occasion to introduce myself but why is that so hard Going to be very not original and jump on the bandwagon on a few topics ~

1) I also was part of some bandoms (I hate that word is that a word? I hate it for some reason). My Chemical Romance is probably my biggest one, not regretting it in the slightest, those were good times. I love them and their music and they're a big part of my life and part of who I became so everything's good. Still very sad about them breaking up but oh well. Was really really into music and still is. I had a few years where I unconsciously tried to act a bit more like a 'grown-up' about it and grow apart from it but it didn't really work out and now I am back to being total band trash and that. is. fine. (atm my faves are Enter Shikari - let's be honest it's been 7 years tho - and twenty one pilots)

2) I am bisexual and not out to anyone irl except a friend i met on the internet I guess. Still trying to figure out everything even if I'm 23. Yup. (yeah okay there you go for something I wouldn't say to someone when we first met)

3) Dan and Phil are the reason #1 why I'm back at enjoying things that might not be targeted to someone my age. They kinda made me realize it's fine to like whatever I like without being ashamed of it or without wanting to run away from it and like adult! things! instead. I might do a post about that at some point but yeah, pretty big deal tbh.

and 4) I've been on tumblr for about 7 years and I would like to say I want to get away from it but man...sometimes there's just nothing better than tumblr humor. This sh*t's too funny.

I have forehead creases like that and I absolutely hate them! I genuinely feel so much better knowing someone out there likes that kind of thing haha, always just thought it made me look old
I consciously try not to raise my eyebrows anymore to stop it getting worse but I have a really expressive face I guess?

If anyone recognized me from my active years in MCR fandom 2006-2009, I'd be shocked (very very shocked), but I coincidentally actually had a very similar username to my one here. The only two times I've used it too!

And, I almost completely forgot about Escape the Fate, wow! AP magazine used to cover them so much and then they just died (losing your lead singer seems to be the death trend for these bands, but FFTL's new album is actually really good).

Yay ETF! That first album is amazing I still listen to it from time to time. Loved Ronnie Radke's voice even though I don't really like Falling in Reverse But yeah lead singer going to jail doesn't really work out I think they still exist with Craig Mabbit though? They might not anymore and I'm just unaware of it. Will probably check out FFTL then, why not. (we should probably move this discussion to the music thread shouldn't we? )

btw i relate to #3 of your post so much!! i used to have so many guilty pleasures but now i'm just open about what i love. like many people associate mcr with their younger teen years so i was kinda embarrassed about liking them at an older age (which i find weird now, like how tf does one grow out of music lol) but my life got so much better when i just started to let myself enjoy what i like and stopped caring about what others think.
