For the Ace Attorney fans, did you know there will be an anime? This saturday is the first episode, I'm so excited.
From what you said, I'm assuming you are probably in your mid-teens? Speaking as a failed scene kid who witnessed these days in all their terrible glory, I do miss old Panic! and My Chemical Romance. However, I do NOT miss the weird hair and all the drama that was 2004 MySpace, oh my God. Everyone was such a dramatic attention whore, including myself. You're not missing out, trust me.Winterbury wrote: i'm irrationally mad at my parents for not having me 10 years earlier so I could witness the glory days of myspace/emo culture myself
Ooh, both of you please tell what bands you were into. Not that I was ever heavily into bandom myself, not at all.... *has war flashbacks to posting Ryden fanfiction on LiveJournal in 2007*achika wrote:

Wahay, I used to be in bandom heavily too! Did you have a certain band you focused on?
coming in a bit late butIzzySmi wrote:It's just that I ramble a lot when i'm geeking out about something like that, with the Winter Soldier it was a case of "Omg did you see the fight sequences, how amazing were they! Scarlet wore an arrow necklace the entire time because she thought BW would end up with Hawkeye but Joss Whedon (King of the NERDS) scuppered that.. DO you think they'll be true to the comic for Civil War or will they go waaaaaay off base.. omgomgomg..*incoherent babbling*" and the person just stares at me silently with dead eyes. It's for the best I don't geek out.Winterbury wrote:Noo, don't ever be sorry for geeking out. I'm sooo excited too! Me too about the stucky fanfics.
Yes, this. My brother talk about this like maybe a few weeks ago. I don't want to put my hopes too high but I hope it is as good as what I imagine it will be.majitzu wrote:For the Ace Attorney fans, did you know there will be an anime? This saturday is the first episode, I'm so excited.
We could make a general 'other fandoms' thread, for fic recs and general chat as we seem to have a lot of fandoms in common on the whole?internetakeover wrote: Been absolutely loving reading this thread I feel like if I started to reply to everything I found interesting I'd never stop though!
Looking at the HP and MCU recs flying around I wonder if people think it might be worth starting a non-D&P fanfic rec/discussion thread?
I was in love with Vegeta, he was so cool to me (idk, I've always had a thing for anti-heroes). I also had an unhealthy obsession with Gilmore Girls (team Jess all the way, I can't stand the latest seasons), Gossip Girl (until they ruined it with absurd story-lines) and Veronica Mars (I hope I'll like the GG revival as much as I liked the Veronica Mars movie).achika wrote:Super embarrassing confession time, Trunks was totally my first (ok well second after Chiba Mamoru "mamo-chan!") I totally ship myself with Trunks.
Good thinking! A general 'Other Fandoms' thread can now be found over here!bluebox-away wrote:We could make a general 'other fandoms' thread, for fic recs and general chat as we seem to have a lot of fandoms in common on the whole?internetakeover wrote: Been absolutely loving reading this thread I feel like if I started to reply to everything I found interesting I'd never stop though!

Lol, the writer of this story is infamous. If you are into drama in fandoms, I'd recommend looking him up. He started a full actual cult. Pretty scary stuff. Fascinating, though.mez29 wrote:Totally depends what you're into as there is something for everyone, but if you want to start close to canon I recommend http://archiveofourown.org/works/753521 ... rs/1407407 which is generally really well written and sort of fills in the other side of the story for Deathly Hallows (it's long af tho)bluntedclaws wrote:As a big HP fan I'm quite intrigued that so many people here read HP fan fiction. I have never read any. Can anyone recommend a good introductory one?
I'm definitely glad I avoided ever getting a myspace. God, remember scene queens? I'm still recovering from that.bedhead91 wrote:From what you said, I'm assuming you are probably in your mid-teens? Aww, thanks for the welcome Winterbury. I'm surprised anyone remembers me as I never posted much! I've been lurking on GG fairly regularly I just don't post cos shy. I'll give your Wolfstar rec a try.Winterbury wrote: Ahh bluntedclaws, it's good to have you back!! Dw, maybe I'm just *too young* but I've never been a fan of smut either. I mostly just skip it whenever I come across it in a fic.
As for HP fanfic recs - I'm glad you asked as I can now push my Wolfstar agenda onto you
But seriously Stealing Harry is a HP fandom classic and imo the right place to start your journey into the world of HP fanfiction.
Thanks mez29 I started reading this and I'm enjoying it so far!mez29 wrote: Totally depends what you're into as there is something for everyone, but if you want to start close to canon I recommend http://archiveofourown.org/works/753521 ... rs/1407407 which is generally really well written and sort of fills in the other side of the story for Deathly Hallows (it's long af tho)
bluebox-away wrote: My favourite HP fanfic is probably Commentarius, it's a Princess Diaries type diary from Lily's point of view, but it's an ongoing work in progress longer than all the HP books put together, and hasn't been updated in 4 years..the 'Harry Potter' section of fanfiction.net is worth a browse though there's lots of really good stuff - and some extremely strange stuff too
I have forehead creases like that and I absolutely hate them! I genuinely feel so much better knowing someone out there likes that kind of thing haha, always just thought it made me look oldiero wrote: - i have a thing for dans forehead creases??? I feel you on that one...I know it's an "iconic Phil" look or whatever. ..but time to give up the ghost and update.Anonymousse wrote: - I wish for nothing more than for Phil to change his haircut.
If anyone recognized me from my active years in MCR fandom 2006-2009, I'd be shocked (very very shocked), but I coincidentally actually had a very similar username to my one here. The only two times I've used it too!shikaritrash wrote: 1) I also was part of some bandoms (I hate that word is that a word? I hate it for some reason). My Chemical Romance is probably my biggest one, not regretting it in the slightest, those were good times. I love them and their music and they're a big part of my life and part of who I became so everything's good. Still very sad about them breaking up but oh well. Was really really into music and still is. I had a few years where I unconsciously tried to act a bit more like a 'grown-up' about it and grow apart from it but it didn't really work out and now I am back to being total band trash and that. is. fine. (atm my faves are Enter Shikari - let's be honest it's been 7 years tho - and twenty one pilots)

Wow angrymob, From First to Last. I listened to them too! Really was into their music. Even though I can't go back to listening to them because it really is attached to bad memories. This was along the times I was listening to Escape the Fate, blessthefall...
I don't really remember myspace like you guys seem to. Like I remember having a myspace when that was a thing but not much drama went on on my side and I guess that's for the better
Just out of curiosity, what do you actually type on google? Haha2old4thisshite wrote:Omg you gice are geniuses/genii lol
You've even got the site popping up with Google search! I've been in a state of anxiety trying to find you, then I found the messages omg it's been a stressful couple of days.
Anyway ... My secret life: heteronormative af, use my little sister as my D&P beard, not into any other YTers, loathe most celebrities and the culture that surrounds them, detest Kayne, have nothing in common with Daniel Howell but want to marry him anyway
I'm so boringly normal that I can't think of an exciting secret, except for my unhealthy obsession with D&P.
Hate avocado. Love you guys.
The site is a work of art. Proud of you! Don't mess with the Phandom, especially the middle aged nose/hand/belly button perverts.
Omg the emojies!!!
Hey there! I am an accountant, too. Well, was...I'm an attorney now. I'm nosy af, too...Um, I mean I have an inquisitive nature and penchant for problem-solving. I think that is partially what drover me into law...but the digging for info in both fields helps with Internet "mining expeditions", ahaha! Not sure how many finance professionals are lurking, but it seems an unlikely venue for mostKathrynxjane wrote:Joining in!

I mean, like, he looks great with a quiff, and he is not a teen anymore... I like that he is not a teen anymore. Please Phil, please.Aurdie wrote:I feel you on that one...I know it's an "iconic Phil" look or whatever. ..but time to give up the ghost and update.Anonymousse wrote: - I wish for nothing more than for Phil to change his haircut.
I don't remember seeing your username so don't be shockedangrymob wrote:

And, I almost completely forgot about Escape the Fate, wow! AP magazine used to cover them so much and then they just died (losing your lead singer seems to be the death trend for these bands, but FFTL's new album is actually really good).
Lawl. Me myself I don't really care for cheese, It's more like a convenience issue. I really like to eat those convenient-as-f Russian pastries that don't cost s**t, but they all have butter or egg in them.shikaritrash wrote: Oh and I've been a vegetarian for about 6 years now. most likely gg if it's me, if only i could get this username on the other sites i useshikaritrash wrote: iero, i feel like I know you from somewhere else on the internet in the past years but yet again that might be someone in the mcr fandom with the same username or just me remembering seeing your posts on gg(not like you're going to remember me from anywhere because i'm almost always lurking or with a diff username soooo) (wow that was a useful intervention from me
)
that's one of the reasons i find them attractive, not only how it looks but how it shows somebody is really expressive!bluebox-away wrote: I have forehead creases like that and I absolutely hate them! I consciously try not to raise my eyebrows anymore to stop it getting worse but I have a really expressive face I guess?
