It's the phandom making assumptions about her personal relationship and turning it into something, she's just doing her own thing.

(and obviously we don't have enough information to really know anything, but what she said on instagram really only clarified that she wasn't actually crying about sweeping, for people who were actually concerned about her. Moving back in with her parents isn't a joke or prank, and I'm not sure if the 'will I be single forever' thing is either. Basically I don't think there's enough information to say one way or another. She just definitely wasn't crying about whether she should sweep the floor, that's all we know.)

Okay that’s fine and I wasn’t talking about the video her crying at all. It was the will I be single forever that confused me. Like I said it wasn’t Shade it’s confusion. I didn’t even see the video of her doing the reference. All I know is I saw her say about being single and then someone said it was a joke. So what else am I supposed to think. If someone says no worries their together it’s a joke then that what I’m gonna think has happened. And I couldn’t give a fuck about dan and Phil in this situation my point is I know she likes to joke but for something to personal and to have her friends reach out I just didn’t get it. I wonder if, since Phil's parents are in London, they're gonna hang out again tomorrow? And I hope Phil has a super lovely birthday, I'm excited for all the edits and gifs and fics etc that people are gonna make in honour of his birthday. Also the banner looks lovely, good job whoever made it! Oooh, and I'm so happy that the Make a Wish fundraiser was so successful! It's currently 8,000 pounds above the initial target, what a great thing

(also, i've only been following this b+w break-up speculation from afar, but i will say that a) for some reason i had it in my head that they didn't live together anyway since wirrow spends a lot of time living overseas, and that bryony lived with housemates? i could be wrong though, maybe that's just ancient knowledge from being in the phandom years ago and b) wirrow liked tweets from bryony just a few days ago, and bryony also recently liked a tweet from someone else about wirrow's art, so idk if that counts for anything. not that it's any of our business either way, i just hope they're okay, and hopefully it was all just a joke)

The discussion around the b+w breakup got me thinking about D&Ps circle of friends and who they most likely are out to as a couple (if you subscribe to such a thing). Relatively speaking, for a couple of guys with millions of followers, I envision the “in the know” circle to be quite small...

I doubt tom or tyler would know if they were romantically involved. Sharing a manager and all, Tom maybe suspects due to exposure since he's probably interacted with them often enough. And I'm iffy on Chris knowing, from what I've gathered they never spent too much time together despite appearances. I also doubt Louise would know since their friendship is mostly a publicity thing (not to say they don't like each other, they seem to get along great but it's more like they never talk outside YouTube related things).

Do we know for sure that they went with Phil's parents last night? I'm sorry if I missed something, I'm so tired right now. I thought they went alone yesterday and might/will be seeing it again with family, but I might be confused.

RE Wirrony: It felt like she was only kidding about the sweeping the floors thing, not the rest of it. I do wish it was all of it though. But now that it's gotten some interest in the phandom (I've seen mentions on tumblr too), I wonder if we'll ever know for certain.

I actually think that most of their friends would be aware, including Louise, Chris and Tom. It starts to all feel way too conspiracy theory-esque to me if I consider that only their very best friends and family know the truth of their relationship - that just seems unrealistic and so difficult to keep up. Given that Louise has stayed at their house before, and they've been on holiday to Italy with Chris, and Tom shares management so tends to pop up at the same events as them, I feel fairly certain they'd be aware.

In fact, I actually feel like most big-name youtubers know, even if they haven't been told directly. It seems like the sort of thing that would be very hard to keep a complete lid on, and would at the very least be an unconfirmed but legitimate rumour among the community. I don't believe Dan and Phil are personally telling very many people, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't something that was well-known in the community (despite maybe not being confirmed).

I really don't think that learning the truth of phan is some sort of rite of passage of becoming a "big" youtuber. And I don't think it's something that's "hard" to keep a wraps on, too. They live together, don't do PDA, introduce themselves as best friends publicly, and that's the facts. Youtubers don't hit 10 million then get an envelope saying "phan is real." And I really don't think people speculate about it as much as we'd like to think. Maybe some friends of friends in outer circles may gossip, but their relationship and the mystery around it is still quite niche. Sometimes you have you actively look for it to find it, and at that those who see it just think it's a meaningless ship like septiplier. Frankly, I think youtubers don't give a shit. They have their own lifes and their own interests to be wondering "do they or don't they". People either think they're straight, not straight, don't care, or look at them and wouldn't give them the time of day, anyway.

Even "close" friends like Mimei, Duncan, Louise I seriously doubt know the "truth". I say everybody knows the deal- they're " friends"- and won't pry any further. It's probably unspoken. Deppy would keep it private. They certainly don't make new friends and announce it to them. They seen like the kind of people that probably trusted one too many people and got fucked over, if that's the case.

Eh, Chris probably knows. I do question why John S. would know. I mean, he was Phil’s first subscriber (and a YouTuber in his own right) and Phil did visit him and a few other YouTubers in New York, before he even met Dan. Yeah they send him merch and met him on tour, but I doubt they are that close and that Phil would share that with him.

As for “wayback former friends’ aka fellow early British YouTubers (who I’ve been taking an interest in lately), I would guess Ben (dudeliawesome), Jay?(vajay_jay I don’t actually know their name, but their correspondence with Dan was very sweet) and Teoh (mrtinoforever, which kinda haunts me, as he’s the editor of TenEighty, but he’s also queer and isn’t going to out anyone. Mind you, I don’t know if they actually confided in him, if he just guessed based on social media and observation at gatherings, or if Charlie gossiped with him.) Maybe Georgie(BOOM/afterdarks), Hatti(Rex) and Ashlee (lightscameraash), possibly Tom (wtftomcoolio), Chris (lomasca), Alex (cheektv), Tom(Bacon). I guess it just depends how open the actually were with that group in late 2009/early 2010.

IF they were out and about back in the early 2010s, I'd assume Carrie Hope Fletcher knew about them too. I remember back in 2011 till 2013 ish they were 'THE CREW' of UK youtubers along with PJ, Crabz, Alex Day, Charlie, Ben Cook, etc.
You could see them at events together and also, they used to hang out outside the limelight.
I'm betting Hazel knows as well.
But it'll be all hearsay until they finally confirm anything if they ever do...

I'm more along the lines of everyone with eyes and a curious mind understands what is going on but Dan and Phil aren't volunteering confirmation to many people, and I also second whoever said that most youtubers are just concerned about themselves and their lives.

But I do feel like Chris and PJ know, mostly because of that week (was it a week? multiple days, at least) they spent in Italy together on that free trip that Chris won. That wasn't for youtube, that was just four friends hanging out - three of whom happened to be closeted(ish) bisexual guys. I'm guessing there weren't many secrets between those four.

My prediction re: Dan's tweet is as follows:

"happy bday rat @amazingphil"

Anything more would exceed expectation tbh.

Regarding who knows about D&P, I'm totally aligned with @alittledizzy. I don't think anyone was given direct, verbal confirmation outside of people they have obviously been close with. The likes of Wirrony, Ian, family, probs the fantastic foursome and by extension, Sophie. And everyone else just has second-hand knowledge at best. Maybe people who've stayed with them generally know, but it's also easy for them just welcome people into their home for a few days and hold back on fondling each other.

I imagine that there’s so soo much gossip going around in YouTube circles that, while their relationship status probably comes up, it’s not as juicy or interesting as it once might have been. The people who know actual details aren’t talking about it, so any interesting gossip is probably a few years old, I would guess. I can’t imagine, with alllll of the drama in YouTube land lately, that anyone (except for Evan Edinger) cares beyond passing curiousity.

Omg, but imagine this was real.
(Also, I agree with the post).

I do think that a bunch of ytbers and people they work with actually know things, even if second-handedly (as had been admitted by Evan, Jimmy and others, ytbers speculate and I doubt many of them self-police). Deps have been around long enough for people who cared to find out one way or another.

On another note, Phil's bday feels like a holiday somehow and I can't cringe at phandom on a day like this

I suppose there's no realistic chance of Dan doing a live show tonight? I'm desperate to hear what he thought of Hamilton (and what Phil thought...I wouldn't object to a joint show but they're probably going out for sushi), especially as in a nice coincidence, I managed to get tickets yesterday to take my eldest as a birthday treat later in the year I'm not going to deprive myself of listening to the soundtrack as I think I'll enjoy it more if I'm familiar with it.

Yay you're going to Hamilton I went to the London show and it was well worth the years wait. I went in without listening to the album and I'm glad I did, it took me half the first song to get over the voices being different to the clips I had seen. However I'm definitely going to listen to it before I got again later this year. I totally get going in knowing the songs as well though.

It would be lovely for Phil to tweet. It would really reinforce the charitable behaviour and encourage people for the next drive. However it's his birthday so I'd understand if he doesn't.
