Lol calm yourself, it was me who sent it and it was a joke, he read it as a joke. I thought his reaction was pretty funny haha. And he's able to decline them quite easily so he didn't accidentally read it. Justttt a jokeeee guysssss, breathe.
Thats hilarious, i wrote that as soon as he said it, without thinking about the context of the mince pie thing (and after reading a few 'where's your boyfriend dan?' in the chat, thats where my mind was at!)
Although Im pretty sure he cant see the whole message tho when he clicks? I really did get second hand embarrassment tho, got the feeling he kinda just sped right through for the next few minutes, but maybe that was just me?

Phil just keeps making me happy, i don't even know what to say. I just really like this guy, oh my gosh. (Made me a little sad too, since I couldn't get the vip tickets for the Helsinki show (Phil said Helsinki so weirdly, like HAlshinki ) and don't actually get to meet them but oh well.) He seemed so giddy and warm and happy with the mince pies and linguistics. Yaay gay marriage come so easily from his mouth without hesitation it just made me so happy and the "so married" was just hilarious. I think thirty suits Phil good. <3 I'm happy, this ls made me happy, I'm so glad I'm stanning these men.

Thanks for posting the clip. I don't have time to watch the whole liveshow right now, so I'm glad the short clip was posted here. Don't have time to read the rest of the comments on here right now so don't know what's already been said - but while he did stutter a little while reading (which I think is only natural - he definitely didn't know what he was reading until he was already speaking), I think he handled it very well. I love how relaxed he's become in the last year!

What is this world we live in?
Phil Lester acknowledging and reading out a "you're so married" comment? Unheard of.

That was a wonderful liveshow. I was loving him in the grey hoodie with his peachy pale face (good moisturising? good lighting? both or maybe just Maybelline? He's a beauty anyway) and then the red and grey plaid pyjamas go so well with the hoodie and he looks so cosy and cuddly in the whole outfit.

Loved the linguistics part so much. He could totally make videos about that, he explains it really well and having studied it for a year way back when myself, I'm also impressed he remembers it so well. Actually read books a lot more than me, I'm guessing. The married comment was so sweet, he does go a bit pink and it's adorable.

Loving all his enthusiasms for movies, Jameela in The Good Place, perfect clementines and telling stories (reminded me a bit of my dad who just liked to have a story even if he made it up at mine or my mum's expense, but not in too bad a way). I love his way with words too. Flying disease-rats, or whatever it was, was a good one, though I hope he doesn't think giving a kid a thing to stop it screaming for it is the way forward

I am so hoping, and also not daring to hope too much, that this deeper stuff from Phil (in comparison to fluff-level food, animals and movies all the time even if not his deepest opinions) is what we'll see more of from him in the show, and in everything in future. Slow, comfortable and steady is fine, it's just great to get to know more about him that he's happy to share.

Aw he looks so good! and much more comfortable than that earlier group picture on the bench

I really enjoyed Phil's ls, I just watched it back and watching him ramble on about linguistics was adorable. Definitely a highlight for me, I'd happily watch him geek out talking about that for at least a full hour if not more. <3

I also loved how he was able to see the "you and Dan are so married" joke as a joke and it didn't trip him up. This year has been so interesting, he and Dan really do seem more... idk, comfortable? at ease with their audience? more genuine? less filtered? (can't quite pin down the right wording to encompass the vibe of 2017 dnp) But it makes me very interested to see how they do PINOF this year as well as the tour. Looking forward to see how that increased comfortability with their audience translates to those contexts.

And yay for dog sims vid tomorrow! finally Is it just me does it seem like they've been talking about it for like a week?

@catdog Got my ticket, in a box seat, no less. Thank you for the well wishes!!

Also, Phil Lester: demon. confirmed.
Telling a story about keeping a mince pie tally, then, reading a comment almost guaranteed to explode his fandom.
Okay, so we're all obsessed with the idea, "are they orgasm buddies?" I think maybe, probs, yeah, either in the past or currently.

But, as we the phans age and mature, it becomes less about the sex (... y'all....we ain't never gonna know what they do in the bed together unless we laid out in the bed between them) and the forced feminization of Dan Howell and the forced masculine "daddy" of Phil Lester, and our crap tendency to view them as safe stand-in safe fictionalization of the tenderness of masculinity in individuals,

And becomes more about the love they share, in whatever capacity, that foolish way to track and rate mince pies, of rolling our eyes at the food delivery guy, of forcing him to sing you the medal ceremony even though you own the music for it, of having a rave tree for years until you get a big boy apartment and then you might be able to swing a real tree, of keeping him on track by getting that spon and side-seat driving the liveshows, of walls made of windows and koi ponds, and that way you pull a hoodie over the head, browsing silently in a room for hours, because you don't have to speak, just text each other across the house, knowing the other will bring you a Ribena. Eventually. When he stops fussing.

Cause we the fans thought we were in love the idea of the sex, of allowing ourselves to imagine the vulnerability in a relationship with a masc individual. But we're really in love with the idea of starting a story by saying, we were so young when we met.

That's a lot to put on two young men. That's mad pressure. Hope it doesn't harm them, that pressure.

Because you buy a vibrator. They sell them everywhere. But you can't buy a "my person," that hand that reaches out for you in a room full of other people. That's what we have been projecting on D&P all along. And they finally see beyond the lust and are giving the people..... what they really wanted, all along.
Anyway, Phil's lovely. I liked that liveshow. Sign me up for Linguistics with Phil on the main channel.

Lmao--everyone saying they loved hearing Phil rant about linguistics without saying what he talked about. That's like saying he talked about books without ever mentioning a title.

Anyway, I don't usually watch the liveshows because I'm a bad person and they are summarized here, but I had to check this one out. He talked about basic phonetics, like voicing and points of articulation, in case any other linguist was wondering. :ribena:

Oh, and he was lovely and fun and entertaining for 90% of the liveshow (not including the tour spon and reading names from the chat). So of course I'm not really complaining about being forced to watch. <3

Not a linguist myself but I married one, and I was pleasantly surprised that I already knew what Phil was talking about. Glad I've managed to absorb something even if it's suuuper basic because most of the linguistics rants I get subjected to might as well be gibberish to me.

He was in a really good mood and it made for a great liveshow. Too bad about their poor rave tree, it made me wonder how much of their decorations we'll see this year since they are keeping their living space more private now.

this feels like the truest truth. <3
i think this is something they're just now seeing/realizing, that the pull isn't actually the fetishization (usually) but more the story: the sudden dizzy climb from fan to friend to partner, the day to day drudgery and joy and weirdness of being someone's most important person.

and there's this kind of promise they give the viewers, especially those who are young and haven't had real grown up relationships of any kind, platonic or romantic. it's this promise that look, people can be good to each other and have fun together even after years and good things can last through bad times and it's so important for these kids. and the important part isn't whether they get down and dirty, it's that they've built this life together over nearly a decade and that things you start when you're young can last forever if you work at them.

i think that partly we're calming down a bit, but mostly deppy are seeing us more. and dan's gonna make his innuendos, and phil will too, "accidentally". but behind all the jokes and the leaning in and the borderline fanservice moments, there's a truth they're letting us see; that they are most comfortable with each other and together, that they're a team and they like it that way, and that none of this is changing anytime soon. so maybe that really is what dan means when he says they're going to "give the people what they want" - giving us proof that such a relationship is possible.

(or maybe they're gonna announce their engagement at the end of the last show, who even knows  )

ngl, that was my first thought. am i remembering wrong or did he mention moving because of the beetles (in a joking way)? regardless, i feel like this flat was a short term solution, and they may be moving right before tour starts - it will have been a year exactly, lease will be up (unless its a 2 yr lease or something). maybe i'm crazy, but it seems a bit too coincidental to me.

It’s also very smart as they don’t have to show any of it for months. Especially if they prefilm for any other videos.
